In the interest of sharing and assisting more people who may have the same question, I will start sharing these answers.... First up! "I noticed that one of our competitors has been paying for our brand name keyword, as an ad appears when I search our company name. However, this ad isnt always visible is there a reason for this? 06.01.2022 BIG NEWS SCOUTS! The opportunity recently arose to join the team at MyBudget, and as of 14 October 2019 I will be their new Digital Marketing Manager! I am sure you can appreciate that this has been a big decision for me, and was an opportunity I could not pass up.... We will continue to deliver the four public training workshops that are currently scheduled as per usual, however at this stage there will be no further training scheduled beyond November 2019. I am in the process of winding up current client work, and will not be taking on any further projects at this time. This website will remain up, and continue to offer a wealth of resources to help people be prepared to do your best online there may also be future blog posts, podcast episodes and online training resources. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support These past almost seven years of Scout have been quite a journey and an absolute honour. 05.01.2022 You know I love a good data infographic, but ones like these now make me simultaneously excited and a bit sad, that we are spending so much of our time online instead of in real life (though for many it is a combination). Either way, it is exciting to see the stats from the recently released Domo, Inc. Data Never Sleeps 7.0 infographic, a quick glimpse into the volume, velocity and variety of data generated and distributed over the internet. According to reports, the interne...t reaches 56.1% of the worlds population and now represents 4.39 billion people a 9% increase from January 2018, which implies the rate of data creation wont slow down anytime soon. This years edition shares some of the latest stats on the growth of data in the digital sphere. Some highlights from Data Never Sleeps 7.0 include: The sharing economy is hot. Increasingly, consumers are not just openly sharing their lives in the form of images posts, and live video, theyre also using digital apps to share tangible assets like vehicles, clothes and homes. In one minute in 2019, for example, Airbnb connected 1,389 users to homes and apartments all across the world. Streaming video is exploding. Streaming video is exploding, and with no signs of slowing down. Streaming giant Netflix saw an over 614% increase in streaming hours (97,222 hours to 694,444 hours per minute) from the previous years report, while YouTube video viewership also increased from 4,333,560 videos viewed per minute to over 4,500,000 videos in 2018. Humanity isnt dead. With a rise in awareness around bullying, social justice, and mental health, its interesting to see how many people are using the internet to make the world a better place. 2018 saw the hashtag #love posted an average of 23,211 times per minute. Most of our media is still social. It appears that the most popular social media sites are only gaining momentum. Twitter saw a usage rate spike from 473,000 tweets per minute in 2017 to 511,200 in 2018, while Facebook reports over 1,000,000 users logging into their platform every minute. Instagram, a baby behemoth in the Facebook family of investments, saw a rise from 49,380 to 55,140 photos shared per minute, a nearly 12% increase. Love at first swipe. More and more people are turning to dating apps to find their one and only. In 2019, Tinder users swiped 1.4 million times, up from 1.1 million who swiped in 2018a 21% increase in people looking to get digitally lucky in love. 05.01.2022 Podcasts are In January 2019, CBS News released survey results which revealed that two-thirds of Americans listen to podcasts at least once in a while, including 23% who do so a few times a week. Data released from ABCs third annual Podcast Survey revealed that podcast popularity is also on the rise here in Australia.... There are three main ways you can get involved in podcasting, either as an individual or organisation: 1. Be a podcast guest. 2. Advertise on a podcast. 3. Start your own podcast!
