20.01.2022 The very first group to stay at The Scrap Shack back in 2014!

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, since these are very uncertain times I want to reassure you all that I clean The Scrap Shack very thoroughly between groups and it has always been my practice to clean surfaces such as door handles and light switches etc in any event. I do all the cleaning myself to be sure that it is done the way I want it done, so you can be confident that I will be even more vigilent over the next few months. You can also be confident that there will be a minimum of 4 days a...nd sometimes longer between bookings when the house will be empty and rested. However, if closer to your booking, your group decides that they do not want to go ahead, then I will refund any money you have paid, except for the deposit, providing that you let me know by 12.30pm at least three days before you are due to arrive. I will ask you to nominate another weekend in the following 12 months which I will reserve for you and to which I will apply your deposit. This policy will be in place for the whole time the government is recommending social isolation. Please make the best decision for your group, everyones circumstances will be different. 15.01.2022 So unfortunately the current restrictions limiting visitors in private homes to 5 people (ie max 6 households represented) mean that The Scrap Shack is closed again for the time being. I am still hopeful that things will improve by the end of the month, but in light of yesterday’s news, that may well not be the case. 14.01.2022 Hi everyone, now that the weather is cooling down it is a perfect time for scrapbooking. There are a couple of weekends left for June/July 2018 and I have just opened bookings for the first quarter of 2019!. It seems ages away but Im sure it will come around quickly enough! 14.01.2022 The Scrap Shack is re-opening for business! Providing there are no adverse events between now and then, The Scrap Shack will re-open in August 2020. I have measured all the spaces, scrapping room, bedrooms etc and I am happy to confirm that they all comply with the 4msq per person rule. Obviously I always clean The Scrap Shack very thoroughly before each group arrives, but from now on I will also be wiping every surface I can think of, including handles, light switches,... taps, chair backs, tables, etc with alcohol sanitiser as well and I will leave a bottle for your use as well as plenty of hand soap. There is no avoiding the need to share bedrooms at The Scrap Shack and of course also to share bathrooms and the kitchen, but with restrictions easing each week, I am confident that by August we will all be much more comfortable resuming more and more activities. 10.01.2022 Did you notice on your stay at The Scrap Shack recently that I have changed to recycled toilet paper? After all, it is single use and then just gets flushed away. What is even better is that by buying from Who Gives a Crap, no plastic is involved and 50% of profits are spent building hygenic toilets for communities which dont have them. 07.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you are all staying well and safe. Clearly the time is coming when our State at least will be in lock down. If you have a booking at The Scrap Shack in April, May or June 2020, then I am postponing it now to the same weekend next year. At the end of April I will make a decision about July and so on as the year progresses. I will contact your group organiser to advise as each booking is affected. If the new date does not suit your group for whatever reason then we will find a different suitable date.
