25.01.2022 Christmas is a beautiful time and so filled with wonder I would like to share a lovely piece I read by the amazing Sally Clarkson called Spreading Christmas Cheer at Home! Most of us are entering into the Christmas season and trying to figure out how to take care of the needs of our loved ones, keep feeding the masses, maintain our responsibilities and stay sane. Yet, there is a part of me, through the years, that has learned to give in to the Christmas Season. I don...’t mean the commercialism or being too busy and over committed. But learning to enjoy the gifts given, however simple, the simple celebrations of home, the lights and the mystery of imagination that can be so much a part of the joy of life. Sometimes the imagination for us to ponder that Jesus is preparing a feast for us, that He cast the stars into place where the angels sang, to understand His glory comes from experiencing this kind of sparkle, beauty, light, celebration in our real lives. God as a light to brighten our lives becomes real when a child sits under a sparkling Christmas tree and hears, For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. - 2 Corinthians 4:6 Taste and see that the Lord is good, is much more easily imagined in a home where hot cinnamon rolls are consumed with great joy together as they emerge from the warm oven. Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests. - (Luke 2:14) is more easily believed in a home where the sparkles of beauty show the possibilities of a heavenly sky and the generosity of love gently given through a warm touch or sweet words are given when peaceful relationships are shared. During this wonderful time of the year, may we truly take the time to appreciate the gifts our Saviour give us everyday, savour every moment and be thankful for His presence, His Word and those around us . . . #Christmas2020 #appreciate #grateful #Godisgood #breatheagain
24.01.2022 Often when things are referred to in a very large term or scale, it becomes incomprehensible. For instance: Over 500,000 homes were damaged or destroyed in Hurricane Laura. It is near to impossible to imagine the tragedy and aftermath of such scale. But if you think of your home, being destroyed, and your neighbours’ home, and your brothers, sisters, parents, friend, cousins over and over and over again it gives one a tad bit of a better understanding of the extent of the situation. Is it not the same with John 3:16? 19.01.2022 Happy Monday morning everyone! I wanted to share an amazing piece I read this weekend from Philip Yancey’s book What’s so Amazing About Grace. And I hope it blesses you and helps you view yourself differently- because HE LOVES YOU! "Not long ago I received in the mail a postcard from a friend that had on it only six words, I am the one Jesus loves. I smiled when I saw the return address, for my strange friend excels at these pious slogans. When I called him, though, ...he told me the slogan came from the author and speaker Brennan Manning. At a seminar, Manning referred to Jesus’ closest friend on earth, the disciple named John, identified in the Gospels as the one Jesus loved. Manning said, If John were to be asked, ‘What is your primary identity in life?’ he would not reply, ‘I am a disciple, an apostle, an evangelist, an author of one of the four Gospels,’ but rather, ‘I am the one Jesus loves.’ What would it mean, I ask myself, if I too came to the place where I saw my primary identity in life as the one Jesus loves? How differently would I view myself at the end of a day?" (from "What's So Amazing About Grace?" by Philip Yancey)

16.01.2022 Really not knowing what this year will hold and all its challenges and changes, more or less around this time last year, I felt so strongly two words God gave me for this year, 2020. Be Still. Stillness is not always an easy activity But God really does speak and reveal His presence in the stillness, in the waiting. I just love the song Take Courage by Bethel Music and would love to share part of it with you:... 16.01.2022 Following a different year where many may be feeling weary, how wonderful it is to enter this season of Christmas and being reminded of our Wonderful Counselor, our Prince of Peace, and His Presence with us daily. In Him we have the assurance of being able to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. So, as the well-known Christmas carol goes: Let every heart prepare Him room, and know what it truly means to live in that eternal peace.
