23.01.2022 HEY Theodore here, looking for a place to crash for a bit while I sort myself out. With you?? Lets find out! I came into care with a buddy and we were hoping to stay together, but my foster mum says we’re a bit much together and it gets us into trouble. My friend must have snitched on me and told the people I’m being bossy!! I can get a bit overexcited with playing sometimes so I guess it’s understandable, and then there’s the stress of changing homes. anyway, we’ve decided ...to go for a trial separation so now I’m after a new place to stay! If there is already a dog there it could be ok, we’d just have to meet first to check. I’ve got some good basic training but even without stress I’m a pretty active dude, I’d love someplace with some structure and plenty of mental and physical stimulation to help me settle and ‘get my head back in the game’. I started out being a mostly outside dog too so a bit of patience helping me be comfortable indoors wouldn’t go astray I’ve heard great things about couches, let’s explore that! 21.01.2022 *Callout for transport help* We have 10 dogs/puppies coming in from the APYL in the coming weeks. We will be flying 3 pups over first as they have some urgent medical needs. We are seeking help to transport the rest as it’s quit costly to fly them here.... If anyone knows of anyone driving from Alice Springs to Adelaide or somewhere near Adelaide that can help with transport please get in touch with the rescue. The pups and dogs will be in quarantine until then and will be vaccinated and microchipped. We are also looking for foster carers for these incoming dogs. 19.01.2022 Hi, I’m Eilish! Here I am, READY for my forever home. It will be just the greatest, I can tell! I am loving and lovable, and I hope my people will be too. I’d love to be able to just hang out with you indoors when you’re home, plenty of pats and tummy rubs please! I also looove fetch and a good ol’ run I bet I’d make a good running buddy if that’s your jam? I don’t even pull too much on the lead, I’m pretty clever! In fact I pride myself on my listening skills, if you’re wi...lling to teach I’m ready to learn! I’d like it if we could go on adventures together too, I love car rides. 18.01.2022 We’d like to welcome Marley and Marla to the scruffer lovers family. These two golden oldies are a bonded pair as they have been together all their lives and would love to live out their retirement together. These two came into the care of the rspca in pretty bad shape and needed lots of tlc. In a team effort they are now in our care and living their best lives. Marley is 11 years young and still full of zest and spunk. He is a quirky bundle of fun, loves a good chat and to r...oll around in the sun. He does a great job of looking after the love of his life Marla. Marley doesn’t mind other dogs but is not a fan of cats. Marla is 14 years young and is loving life. Marla is a special girl as she is completely blind, but you wouldn’t know it as she doesn’t let that hold her back. She is quick to learn her environment and navigate using her sense of smell and sound. She can find her favourite humans (and of course Marley) from anywhere. We were also very lucky to be gifted a Muffins Halo for her, which gives her more confidence in new environments. Both these beautiful pups would love a home to live out their golden years and anyone lucky enough to have them as part of the family will be rewarded with all the love and cuddles they could want. 17.01.2022 Hallo, Obee here! Just my big happy self, here to tell you all about me so I can find my new home. I’ve actually been with my family for a while they were hoping to be my forever family since they love me so very much but sadly I make my mum feel unwell. Still, just goes to show what a special guy I am, hey?! My mum describes me as a playful comedian, but she wants me to find the best home possible so I’ll try be serious here. First let’s talk training don’t worry, I have... some. I’m crate trained, toilet trained, I have good recall, and all those fun basics like sit and stay actually I’ve done TWO basic obedience training programs at home, training is a great way to bond so I wouldn’t mind if we did some more in my forever home. I’m good in the car too, so please do feel free to take me on adventures. I do need some more leash training, as I get quite excited. I also tend to pull towards and bark at other dogs and people. Don’t worry, I am NOT aggressive! I just SO want to make friends and I haven’t learned yet how to be calm about it. Ok what’s next? How about future family members: Kiddos are a-okay with me, I am a great family dog. I currently live with a 3yo and 5yo and we get along swell despite my size. I can’t be rehomed with cats or pocket pets, we don’t get along. Other dogs are JUST fine in fact I think I’d like having another doggo friend. It would also be great if you’re home a whole bunch as I really love company so much so that it’s really important I’m allowed inside with you when you’re around, please don’t leave me stranded outside alone! I also need plenty of exercise, same as any dog. A daily walk would be just the best, so many things to sniff! It will give us a chance to keep practicing my lead manners anyway ?? PLAY: I love a good play, toys are SO fun especially balls, I hope you will play with me and my toys! I am still quite young, and can be quite excitable and definitely a playful fella. Otherwise, I love cuddles (lots of cuddles), and FOOD of course! I think that’s all of the facts, as for my soul I think that’s pretty clear just from looking in my eyes! 14.01.2022 **Foster Carer Needed** Hey I’m Lucy, I’m a long girl looking for a foster fam to take me in until I can find my forever home. I do need to be the only pet (no other dogs, cats, or pocket pets), which is always a tricky spot a lot of Scruffers’ dedicated regular foster carers, being animal lovers, already have pets of their own. I bet they’re lovely homes but they’re just not for me right now! I like to bark at dogs at dogs who are behind my fence so a home with no dogs on ...the other side is a must for me. Other than that, you’ll find I’m a very relaxed girl. I just love to hang out really! I love kids, love life, and really just love being with people. I am still quite young (only 3 years!) so I can be pretty bouncy occasionally if I get excited, but nothing to worry about for sure. 13.01.2022 Are there any mobile dog washers out there who could help us out with two lads new to rescue in the Morphett Vale area? We have a bonded pair of German Shepherds in desperate need of a bath & blow out of undercoat. Their carer is doing their best to brush them, but these guys have been neglected for some time. It is a big ask, we know, but these young gents would be ever so grateful.

10.01.2022 Hi, I’m Molly! My friends think I’m a pure sweetheart with a huge heart. I have to admit I absolutely love cuddleslots of them! I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of girl who loves to play and burn off some energy.... Let me stay inside with you and we can hang out together all the time. Wherever you go, I’m coming too. Sleeping on the bed, I’m down for that. My foster carer also doesn’t mind if I sit in the bathroom while they shower! It does take me a little while to warm up to new people, but once we’re cool, I will never leave your side. I love to rub my head and paws to get your attention, and once you start to pat me, I’ll never want it to stop! I absolutely love to eat and I’ll always find a little bit more room in my tummy for food. I love my walks too. I’m not too keen to share but I reckon with your help I can learn that it’s good to share! I also become a little too protective of my backyard and bark a bit but I promise with your help I can change. I’ve hung out with cats and other dogs and they are OK. But I’m sure with some human supervision, you can help me feel more comfortable with them! I’m only eight months and know I have a lot to learn but I promise I’m a very fast learner. 09.01.2022 Hello everybody I’m Trinny, and if you’re looking for a smart and affectionate girl then look no further! I’m a 20-week-old Kelpie Cross from the APY Lands, who is loving life with my foster family - but I’m now ready to find my forever home.... I have been hanging out with my foster dog brother and sister, which has been so awesome. I’ve also enjoyed spending time with my foster cat family, including foster kittens. Sometimes I play tricks on them by stealing their toys when they’re not looking! It’s so funny! Didn’t I mention I was a smart girl? I’m picking up training super fast but it helps when my foster family gives me yummy treats. Give me food and I’m learn anything! I love big adventures and walks. I’ve already been to a dog park which was an interesting experience. I was a bit unsure at first but after a bit I was OK and enjoyed meeting other dogs. I’ve been in the car too, which was no problem. Between me and you, I think my harness is the best thing that’s ever been invented! I like to multi-task on walks sometimes I take my big foster dog brother for a walk by grabbing his lead and pulling him around. After our big adventures there’s nothing better than cuddles on the couch at night time. But I’m also an independent girl who doesn’t mind having a bit of me time on my own. My perfect family would have older children, because sometimes I can get excited and be a little jumpy at first. But with some obedience training, we can work through this together, right? 09.01.2022 Hi everyone I’m King! King Pin/ King of the Castle! Despite my name I’m probably the sookiest monarch you’ll ever know. I just love to be around people and am a big boof head. Before I came into Scruffer lovers I was at the RSPCA for a while and all the volunteers loved me! They couldn’t work out why I wasn’t adopted and being in the shelter environment was a bit overwhelming for me.... In my foster home my carers say I’ve been an absolute delight and a big cuddle buddy! It’s nice and quiet here and I love just relaxing and spending time with humans. I do love an adventure too! I walk well on the lead with my harness but need to be walked at quiet times as although I do seem to like other dogs and want to say hello, when I can’t do that, I will get a bit excited and express this with my big booming bark! This is why I also make a good guard dog but as soon as someone new comes into the house I just want their love and affection. I think it would be best for me to be in a house where I can’t see through to the street. I may need to be in an only dog home to start with as I don’t realise my size and other dogs may feel intimidated by this. I have a tip top record with cats though. I’m trained with my basics. I just want to please everyone so will follow your lead pretty much every time! I have been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and am not currently on medication as it seems to have gone smoothly. Sometimes I may have a bit of a funny waddle but I haven’t expressed that I’m in any pain and this doesn’t stop me from exploring the great outdoors! This may however, cause problems later on down the track. 08.01.2022 G’day I’m Finn! I’m having a great time in foster care but I do need to find a permanent home, so here’s a little about me in case you’re interested. I’m a pretty easy-going dude, I get along well with cats, kids, and other dogs everyone’s best friend! I’m not currently living with other dogs but I’ve met several and I’ve loved them all, we had such a swell time playing around! I don’t quite understand why I’m not allowed to go up to play with every dog I see, something ab...out the lead I’m attached to I mean well of course, but probably worth us doing some more lead training so I learn to be a bit more patient and just keep walking past. Not to worry though, I am very clever! I’ve learned a bunch of new tricks, my foster fam say I pick them up real quick, and I’m not too stressed in new situations: whatever goes, you know? At home, I’m toilet trained, I sleep inside, and I really love being with my people they’re so lovely, I just love to have friends, I guess! Sometimes I get a bit excited with new folk and jump up a bit, but I’m working on that too. What else is there to know? I’m a friendly, loving, and clever companion, just looking for a family to call my own who will shower me with the love and affection I deserve! 06.01.2022 I am still looking for my forever home!! Hello maybe we could be family? My name is Carly. I’m a bit slow to warm up to new people especially men, but if you give me a chance you’ll find I have SO much love to give! I’m a very loyal doggo, I love my foster family and I especially love kids! I’m sure I could get by either way but a new family with kids for me to play with would be oh so fun, I know I’m big but we’ll still get along fine, you’ll see!... My ideal day would definitely be spent with my family, my favourite thing to do is be with them. I am ok by myself of course, but surely you’d rather stay home and hang out with me? We could play all day, I love to play and chew my toys! Maybe not ALL day though, we should stop here or there for naps that’s another of my favourite things. If you do need to go someplace, you COULD consider taking me with you I love car rides! I don’t love everything though although I love kids, I do not like cats and I’m also a bit uncomfortable with other dogs, so a pet free home (except for me!) would suit me best. Dog parks aren’t really my speed either, just too much. Also, loud noises can startle me sudden bangs, or those VERY scary dangerous machines that steal all the floor dust and chop the grass! I guess what I’m looking for is a family who will love and protect me as much as I will them someone to muddle through this scary world with, and have some fun and cuddles and naps along the way! For the first six years I was confined outside in nothing more than a chicken coop, but my life changed for the better thanks to a wonderful lady called Ruth who helped me out of that situation and Tiny Tails who started me on my rescue journey. 02.01.2022 Foster Carer Needed!! Hey I’m Pablo, I need someplace to stay for a little while, just til I can get back on my feet. Could I stay with you? I LOVE people, even the small ones. I’m pretty small too so we get on well. I came into care with a doggo friend and we get along but even though he’s half my size, he’s rude to me and he’s always shenaniganising and getting us into mischief! So even though I love him, we’re going to try living apart and see if that might be best for us ...both. I will be sad to lose my friend but I’d like to be an only pet for the moment, just while I settle. Because I’m used to having a friend, someplace where the humans are home most the time would be best. That way I can learn to be alone gradually, how scary to do that all at once!
