19.01.2022 The Sculptures by the Bush competition is still going ahead however we are extending the deadline for registrations and pushing back dates for judging and the display periods due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Based on advice from the Federal Government, Council does not want to encourage residents to be engaging in unnecessary travel during this period. With extra time at home, residents have more time to plan their sculptures and have them ready for installation hopefully in th...e next 2 3 months. We will advise of new deadlines for registration and judging dates as soon as we can which will be dependent on Federal Governments advice on travel. Thank you to those who have already registered and we look forward to seeing what the community can do in the coming months!

18.01.2022 2020 Sculptures by the Bush has been confirmed to run over the July School Holidays from 6 - 19 July. Cr Ferguson said the event is going to be very valuable to our local business as it will get people from the surrounding areas spending money in our region. Previous Hay Bale Challenges have always brought people from Bathurst, Orange and Cowra for a day trip out to the Blayney Shire who then stop in our local retailers and have coffee or lunch at cafes and restaurants. ... This event is perfect for what is happening in the world right now as a large number of people can enjoy it without congregating in large groups. Locals who have been thinking of entering can now start to put their plans into action with a better idea of dates. This is one of those events that heavily relies on the local community getting involved and by entering the competition it puts more things to see on the map and brings more people out to support our local businesses who have been doing it tough. The event has three different categories for residents to enter in including the Hay Bale Art Challenge, a Farm Art Challenge and the Scarecrow Competition. Registrations are available on the Blayney Shire Council website and close on Wednesday 24 June 2020. Read more and register here https://www.blayney.nsw.gov.au//sculptures-by-the-bush-com
