13.01.2022 It is very hard to start this post and what I'm about to say makes us very sad! Yesterday morning we were sure that we could go ahead with our tournament and it was looking all good until the news came about ACT (people are advised to avoid Sydney unless it's necessary to go there) and increased COVID cases in Sydney. While we feel that disc golf is important, it is more important that everyones safe! We have to reconsider and with heavy heart I have to let you all know that... we'll cancel our event Everyone who made the bank transfer please contact us with your details so we could transfer your money back. For Sydney people we'll have a regular social day! (2 rounds, red and yellow course) Once again if you feel unwell please stay home and if you have been to any hotspots please self-isolate and get tested! Stay safe!

11.01.2022 Sydney Disc Golf is proud to announce the opening of it's second Public Disc Golf Course based in North Ryde Common! We have been working on this project for a few months now and are very happy to have it available towards the end of June! We will be using this course for social days and weekly doubles events. It will have 9 permanent baskets with 18 tee pads, and signage for each hole. It's a nice quiet park that doesn't get much use that will test your skills with lines nav...igating around trees. City of Ryde council have helped set this up and we can't thank them enough. We will be having a social day on (link below) which will be used to fundraise for the new course, so please try and come down for the day and let's try and make this our biggest Social Day ever! 11.01.2022 Apparently we have some of the best old players in Australia here in Sydney. Congratulations to Matt, Mat, Albert and Paul who have taken First or Third in their respective divisions! Matt and Mat can contact the ADG for their prize and the bag tags for all podium finishers will be delivered to the Sydney club after Christmas for collection.

08.01.2022 Sydney Disc Golf Club is looking to become an official sporting club (again), so that we can grow the sport and build more courses across the city. The next step is to put together a board to manage the administration of the club and we need a minimum of 3 people to do this - typically a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. However, we can also have other roles on the committee including Event Manager, Memberships Officer, Media Manager, etc. If you want to he...lp out and shape the future of disc golf in Sydney, please nominate for the committee by clicking on the link below and filling in a nomination. 06.01.2022 With more people than ever out and about exercising and also playing disc golf, a reminder that we don't have exclusive access to the Armory and have to share with the public. If a family is sitting in the middle of a fairway, leave them be and if possible tee off from a different position. They have as much right to be there as we do. Don't throw if there is any risk of hitting another person. It only takes one incident and we could be kicked out of the Armory. Please also make yourself familiar with the PDGA Code of Conduct and Play Smart.

06.01.2022 An important question for all Sydney Disc Golfers. Should Sydney Disc Golf Club become an incorporated association (once again)? It looks like polls on Facebook are broken so let's do it another way. Hit like and select the heart to vote yes or angry face to vote no. Or just comment YES or NO.... Over the past 12-18 months we've seen a huge influx of new players into our wonderful sport and we'd love to grow it even more with more disc golf courses around the Sydney area. A group of us have been beavering away in the background and we are now just starting to see some returns on that hard work. However, at present, we are just a rag-tag group of individuals with a common goal. This makes it difficult when working with councils and almost impossible to apply for government grants and the like, as they will only deal with registered bodies. To address this, we want to propose that Sydney Disc Golf Club officially becomes an incorporated association. What does that mean? Well, the club becomes a legal entity like most other sporting clubs around the state that operates under specific laws and provides it members with specific legal protections. If the majority support this, the next step will be to form a committee with at least 3 board members. But let’s get past step 1 first and confirm that there is support for this change. 03.01.2022 Saying that I am impressed would be such an understatement. I am absolutely more than impressed! We had 52 people at our Armory Summer Slam tournament. If I could caps lock the number I would... This is beyond what we hoped for, you guys are legends! It was a big day and a big thing for the Sydney Disc Golf Club. When I got home I was so tired I needed a 15min powernap, which ended up being a 2h sleep, ooops but still what a successful day ... I do wish to thank every single person who showed up and took part of our tournament Special mentions go to Matt E, Ryan, Mario and Ollie for the help. Of course Priit, Stephen and Daniel who were the main heads behind the event, Kevin Costa, who is the author of these pictures and everone else who helped out or offered to help. Couldn’t do this without you guys! I was thrilled to see so many new faces and of course to see again all the old ones as well. I do hope you guys keep coming back. 01.01.2022 ONLY ONE MORE SLEEP TO GO, you can clearly tell how excited I am. We should have perfect disc golf weather tomorrow but bring plenty of mozzie spray with you. We'll start with the pre-registration at 8.30am, have the players meeting at 9am and the first round should start at 9.15am. Pretty please don't be late so we could start on time :) There's all day parking option, early in the morning there should be plenty of space available.
