20.01.2022 We are so excited to be participating in the Riverland Christmas Appeal again this year! We’re accepting donations of new toys and non-perishable foods at the clinic this month, but don’t be afraid to think outside of the box! Even seeds for a vegetable patch or great books can be invaluable to those in need. We'll be handing over our donations at the very start of December, so if you’re able to, please join us in bringing some more joy to those who can’t celebrate Christmas how they want to!

18.01.2022 STRESS AWARENESS It's no secret that while we navigate our way through life, we are constantly facing situations that can put extra stress on us. But, did you know just how much additional stress can affect your health and wellbeing? All systems and organs in our bodies are affected in some way, and chronic stress causes changes in the body that predispose us to most of the top ten causes of death in western society (scary right?). ... At our clinic, we take your health seriously. With our HRV scanning, we're able to measure how your body is responding to the stresses in your life. But until your next HRV scan with us, have a read of our 5 top tips for reducing stress in your life! 1. Treat your body well - keep active and nourish your body with good, whole foods 2. Adopt healthy sleep patterns - make sure your space is calm, away from technology and is occurring at consistent times. 3. Practice organisation - it may sound simple but if you're not someone that uses a planner, buy one! If you already use one or the calendar on your phone, practice mindful scheduling. Allow enough time for each task so that you're not overwhelmed and ensure everything on your calendar is something that brings value to your life. 4. Allocate time for your hobbies! Don't neglect these, taking time for yourself is just as important as everything else we're listing here. If you don't have any hobbies, try something new! 5. Get yourself adjusted! We can't always avoid stress, but we can make sure our body is taken care of.

With a vision of a clear understanding of vertebral subluxation (the spots along your spine that chiropractors adjust), the work of the ASRF is vital to this industry and very close to our hearts at the clinic. Ryan has been involved with the foundation for many years, so this is a great achievement in his career. ... Congratulations Ryan!

And while we hate to mention the C word on a wonderful Thursday, we really need to be paying attention to our sun safety and reduce our risk of getting skin cancer! So, here is your friendly reminder to check-in with your sun care! And while it’s important to protect our skin from the sun, we also need to protect ourselves from the nasties found in most sunscreens! We recommend going for a mineral-based sunscreen so that we aren’t damaging our health more than we realise.

03.01.2022 Today we thought we'd share the 7th chiropractic principle with you all! #7 tells us that the amount of intelligence (i.e. the amount of information sent from our brain) given to each tissue in the body is determined by the brain and the needs of that tissue/organ/body part. So, what does this mean for you and I, and chiropractic?... Well, this principle, along with the others, describes to us that the body has the ability to heal itself, provided there is nothing interfering with the messages our brain sends to our body (through the nervous system). Poor health results from these interferences, which is what a chiropractor removes through adjustments! So, while you may have always believed a chiropractor is only here to straighten your spine, we do a lot more than that. We aid the nervous system, remove the interferences through adjusting, and help your body get back to its best function possible.
