25.01.2022 "NO ONE EATS ALONE THIS CHRISTMAS Roshni Indian Restaurant Offers Free Meals to the less fortunate and those alone at our annual Roshni Indian Community Chris...tmas Lunch! Myself (Raj), Jess and the Roshni Team would like to invite our Mackay Community who would normally spend Christmas alone to join us again this Christmas from 12-2pm for good food, good conversation and fun times!! (Roshni Indian Restaurant will be closed to the general public on Christmas Day.) Its Christmas time again and all of us at Roshni want to spread our philosophy of happiness and light with our Mackay community. The last three years we have opened up our restaurant and our hearts to the people in the community who are a little less fortunate, without family or just doing it tough. After doing this event for the last three years and seeing familiar faces each year this annual Christmas Party has become an event that many look forward to!! So, we want to again invite our Mackay Community to join us for our annual free Christmas Lunch. Let myself, Jess and our family cook for you!!!! We will be serving the traditional ham, prawns, salad and desserts, as well as our most popular curries and rice. To us this is not charity, it’s about coming together and giving back to our community that has given us so much; Queensland and this region in particular has survived so much in the last few years and we want to make sure no one is alone or goes hungry on Christmas Day! This is our way of saying we love the people in this community. It will be the same as in previous years; no questions will be asked. We will be preparing 250-350 meals (more if needed) and we are asking for the help of our Mackay community to spread the word, so it can reach as many people as possible as you all have done in previous years! The last three years we have been so overwhelmed with phone calls and walk-ins, so many generous and genuine people offered their time and services to help create a warm family celebration and we sincerely thank everyone who has and continues to contribute. If we can make Christmas just a little bit better for even one person by opening our doors and providing a warm family meal well that’s enough for us. You can eat in the restaurant or take away. You can share your story with us and have lunch or simply take food home. No question will be asked! We look forward to seeing our regular Christmas stars again this year as well as any new faces that would like to attend! Please share!!

Asking someone about their mental and emotional wellbeing can be daunting, but by starting with a thoughtful question of "Are you okay?" you can initiate a meaningful and supportive conversation. Not sure how or where to start? Learn the steps of asking at: https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask or talk to your GP.
