24.01.2022 A big thank you to our magnificent team of Instructors at Northern Beaches Hapkido. Was great to get you all together for a fun night, some light entertaining activities and to celebrate what has been a great year for the club amongst such a disjointed year generally. Thanks Alena and Mel for taking some great pics. If anyone had more feel free to post or pass on.

19.01.2022 Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it Nelson Mandela Nelson Mandela found that real courage doesn’t necessarily mean having no fear at all. Fear is a natural emotion, but conquering your fears or even your day to day tasks can significantly impact your life in a positive way. This is why in Hapkido, learning new things and improving daily is very important.

15.01.2022 A huge Congratulations to this year’s proud recipients of our Annual Northern Beaches Hapkido Student of the Year Awards. Every year, our team of Instructors and I get together to work out who should receive these awards. This year was particularly difficult with so many eligible contenders, but the dedication shown through this entire year was the clincher. Each of these students have not only trained solidly all year, but they attended every Zoom session during COVID with e...nthusiasm and passion. Junior Belt Child of the Year: Kobe Arthur Child of the Year: Jacob Lawrence-Stevens Teenager of the Year: Poppy Bland Adult of the Year: Alena Turley Special mention to my two Instructors Alena and Poppy. I would usually not award to my Instructors but you have both gone far above and beyond in your dedication to Hapkido and our Club, and you both have displayed a much deeper understanding of why we are here, teaching, mentoring, and leading by example. I’m super proud of you all.

15.01.2022 Hi All, Due to recommendations from the NSW Department of Health on the Northern Beaches, we will need to cancel both classes on Saturday at this stage. The same applies to Keiran's 6am Kicks Session tomorrow morning. Looks like we will begin our Summer Break one day early. Stay home and stay safe everyone, so we all do our bit to control this latest Cluster. Most importantly, please stay level headed and take a minute to have a big breath and a think before acting or speakin...g. There is another wave of high anxiety levels hitting our streets, do your best to help others cope and be extra patient with people showing frustration and out of ordinary behaviour. 14.01.2022 Dear Students and Parents, The last grading of the year is on Wednesday the 16th of December. Keep in mind that those who are not grading, there will be no classes that night. Last classes for 2020 are Sat 19th of December.... Grading Times: 4:00 - 4:45 pm Junior Kids 4:45 - 5:45 pm Kids 5:45 - 6:45 pm Teenagers 7 pm onwards Adults

11.01.2022 Many of you will have by now been fortunate enough to have attended one of the Kicking Seminars that Keiran Deck from "Kicks at Freshwater" has held for our students. Keiran is a Martial Arts Tae Kwon Do Instructor, who now has chosen to go down the path of teaching body mobility, flexibility, and strength related specifically to improving our Martial Arts kicks. You can learn more about Keiran at https://kicksfreshwater.com/ It just so happens that his style of Kicking is ...very similar to many of our Kicks we learn and practice during our Hapkido practice. So far we have all learnt so much from Keiran and for me personally I really value his genuine passion for improving peoples ability to move, and to strive for perfection in technical aspects of kicking. I am pleased to say that Keiran has decided to teach one of his classes each Friday morning at our Dojang in Brookvale from 6:00-7:00am. Although it is early, it is a fantastic way to start the day and further complement your Hapkido skillset. This class is open to ages 14 years and above (just under this age may be considered if they have experience in kicking) COST: $20 for existing Hapkido students ($28 usual casual price). Note this independent of our Hapkido Direct Debit Fee structure. Looking forward to seeing you down there. I'll be there bright and ready to kick.
