25.01.2022 Lights, camera, webinar! We were pretty excited this week to be on hand to help Caroline Healy of We Are Savvy with a webinar on the subject of how recent behaviour will impact future marketing. Quality content presented well in a great little studio (Studio Nunawading) giving us all a point in the right direction for how to market ourselves post COVID-19. Thanks for having us, Caroline! www.wearesavvy.com.au

25.01.2022 There are all kinds of brave. Brave is jumping out of a plane, journeying alone, trying something new. Or backing yourself and your business. Telling yourself youre worth the time, the investment, the energy.... Couldnt we all use a little more brave?

24.01.2022 What would you have done this week, if the world was not where it is? Recent COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations mean that so many small businesses are hurting. Where we can, we would encourage everyone to think about how you can still support them in the short term, to try to get them through this...whatever it will turn out to be. This week the Semper Paratus family would have:... / Called into the school Book Fair. Instead, we placed an order online through the company website and school still gets a %. / Had a working lunch at a local cafe. Instead, we have bought a voucher for the value of what we would have spent to go back later. / Popped in for a weeks worth of coffee beans from our local roaster. Instead we bought a 1kg bag (takeaway) to tide us over the next month. / Compared prices on some puzzles & toys for the kids for the upcoming holidays. We bought them from a local shop (that can also deliver) instead of one of the big department stores. / Gone out to dinner to celebrate the end of the school term. Instead we ordered takeaway from the same venue (a few days earlier!). All were delivered in record time. The little things might make the difference between your favourite local small business weathering this storm or not. What would you have done? And what can you still do? #gosmallstayhome

24.01.2022 One unlike no other. Lest we forget

24.01.2022 Seeing our clients thrive is one of the most incredible things about this business - watching the hard work go in, and seeing the success on the other side! Knowing we played a small part is rewarding in itself, but being thanked with these spectacular flowers and lovely bubbles is also pretty good. Congratulations on your fabulous week Max & Me and thanks for the goodies!

22.01.2022 At this point we are all pretty much Batman.

20.01.2022 The world around us is changing really quickly right now - day-to-day and even hour-to-hour we have new guidelines on where we should go and what we should do in the light of COVID-19. Whilst these measures are necessary for the interest of public health, there is a different kind of panic that theyre prompting amidst small businesses. Australian small businesses are going to start hurting - quickly and badly. Whilst were making the necessary changes to our own short term... lifestyles, try to take some time to consider the small business, local or otherwise, you support as part of your day-to-day and how you might be able to help them weather this storm. For businesses you cant visit in person for a while - consider buying a voucher for their services now, that you can use later. Does your local cafe offer pre-paid coffee cards? Grab a couple now and enjoy your lattes later. Pre-pay a haircut or a facial, or a special occasion dinner. For businesses that you regularly use their (non-essential) products - ordering a stash of their stuff for delivery, even if youre not due for them yet. For the small makers, near or far away - place an online order for something youve been eyeing up, but hadnt gotten around to ordering yet. Your treat may just be the difference to their survival. Just a few ideas. Its not going to be business-as-usual for a lot of Australia for a while, but a little action now might mean that we have a better chance of still being able to enjoy our favourite small businesses when we emerge from the other side of this storm. #gosmallandstayhome

19.01.2022 Here in Melbourne we are anxiously awaiting our roadmap out of Stage 4 lockdown but in the last month we have certainly learned how to appreciate the little wins. Like knowing its the first day of Spring today, which, if nothing else, means we are not homeschooling/quarantining/juggling work/freaking out in Winter!

19.01.2022 Pop the kettle on, grab a bikkie, do the maths.

19.01.2022 Now more than ever...go small, stay home. #gosmallstayhome

18.01.2022 To our clients, partners and friends - Happy Easter from the Semper Paratus family! The hunt has been hunted, the buns have been crossed and we are now settling down to the *very* serious business of long-term chocolate consumption. In these heavy times, we hope today brings everybody a little bit of fun!

16.01.2022 At Semper Paratus, the future is in good hands. Strong women - may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them. #IWD2020

15.01.2022 Semper Paratus is delighted to wish all the Dads out there a very happy Fathers Day! The day may be looking a little different for some this year, but we hope that however you are choosing to celebrate, its still a great day.

11.01.2022 Delighted to have assisted a client with a great function last week, with an informative panel discussion and time for colleagues and clients to mingle in a relaxed environment. We assisted with finding a venue and the logistics for the event, leaving the host to look after their guests and not have to worry about the details! Congratulations to We Are Savvy on a wonderful relaunch! http://www.wearesavvy.com.au/

11.01.2022 Happy World Chocolate Day! The Semper Paratus family usually takes the opportunity to head to the amazing Yarra Valley Chocolaterie every school holidays for a play in the orchard and a LOT of treats. Its a short drive for us, and a trip we always look forward to. We are so sad that we are unable to keep up this tradition at the moment, but are delighted that we were able to do an online order to bring a little of what we enjoy about our time there into our home. ... We are proud to continue to support small and local businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic. Now pass the chocolate! #semperparatus #worldchocolateday #passthechocolate #virtualassistantservices

11.01.2022 Its officially Take Your Dog To Work Day! Id like to give a shout out to Freddie, Semper Paratus Office Manager, valued team member and all round good boy. Whilst he occasionally drops the ball he always brings it back, which is why we love him. Although the current situation around COVID has seen many pooches taken to work on a daily basis for some time now, today still feels special. Another round of Schmackos for all!

10.01.2022 I moved to Melbourne in 1999, fresh out of university, ready to conquer the world. My chosen city embraced me as a daughter - it shared its fun, its successes, its secrets, like I was one of its own, and always had been. Now it faces its biggest challenge in living memory. I am still proud to call this city home, will stand by it in its hour of need, will look forward to the day that we can gather again and celebrate this amazing place that we know, and that we love. We ...can do this, Melbourne. ~ Marika

09.01.2022 Its been a roller coaster couple of months of juggling work, home schooling and a house with four full time residents but the two smallest members of the Semper Paratus family have finally trotted back off to school! Whilst we can all agree life is not back to normal yet, this is definitely a step in that direction. Time to drink a hot cup of tea, to make a reasonable amount of daily snacks for an adult appetite and to get to bed before 2am. Good luck to all the little ones who are back to school (and those who are nearly there), and to all the parents who are taking a deep breath and trying to remember how on earth we used to get them ready and out of the house so very, very early.

09.01.2022 Across the country, businesses are moving operations into working from home mode, but not all businesses are set up to work from home and might need extra help. Or they are going to be so busy keeping basic operations afloat that the support services are definitely left until later. Virtual Assistants across the country are ready to go. Right now. ... We are specifically set up to work remotely which means that we dont need to be in your business at a time when nobody is supposed to be in your office. Were used to picking things up quickly and running with it to deliver value quickly. Were used to working at odd hours. Were used to doing everything we can to help. There are networks set up specifically to link people with experienced VAs who have expertise in particular areas of business. Were here if you need us. All of us. https://www.findava.com.au/

07.01.2022 Youre not wrong, Albert. How is everyone holding up in this new world?

05.01.2022 We really are quite versatile.

04.01.2022 Thrilled to have received these blooms this week from a beautiful client grateful for the help provided with their COVID-19 prep and client communications. Especially lovely now - brightening up our space in more ways than one! Thank you!

04.01.2022 We can do this again, right? Right? RIGHT?

03.01.2022 Life has sure felt like a juggle these last few weeks - so much more than usual. Remote learning in Victoria is now officially standing in the wings ready to join the fun from today - heres to hoping we can keep all these balls in the air! Best of luck to everyone adding homeschooling to their juggle this week.

02.01.2022 Delighted to have attended Nillumbik Shire Councils Women in Business networking event this week with Stacey Howard of the amazing Max & Me and hosted by the inimitable Em Rusciano. Always great to spend some time getting to know other small businesses owners and discovering the incredibly diverse range of skills that share our little slice of Melbourne!

01.01.2022 Thrilled to be working in an industry that has dedicated professional development events - had an incredible time attending the VA Institutes Summit for some thought leadership, networking and lots and lots of tips! Always great to connect with other Virtual Assistants, learn about industry trends, and see which direction this incredible job of ours is likely to take us next!
