22.01.2022 Djuan (north west of Crows Nest) grass fire as at 4.40pm Sat 14 Nov. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a large gra...ss fire burning near Djuan. This fire is posing no threat to property at this time however it is producing a lot of smoke. Firefighters are working to control the blaze. Nearby residents may be affected by smoke into the evening. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Follow your bushfire survival plan now. If you do not have a plan, your safest option is to leave now if it is clear to do so. If you are not in the area, do not return, as conditions are too dangerous. Currently as at 3.45pm Saturday 14 November a dangerous fire is travelling from north of Lake Bowarrady in the vicinity of Awinya Road, south towards Cathedrals on Fraser. It is expected to impact Cathedrals on Fraser in the next few hours. The fire could have a significant impact on the community. Residents and visitors are asked to leave via Maheno Beach and travel south toward Happy Valley. There is a separate bushfire warning issued for residents and visitors of Happy Valley. Fire crews are working to contain the fire but firefighters may not be able to protect every property. You should not expect a firefighter at your door. Currently as at 3.45pm Saturday 28 November, a bushfire with two fronts is burning approximately five kilometres north of Kingfisher Bay Resort, and two kilometres west of Cathedrals on Fraser. Weather conditions are predicted to deteriorate later today, with increased smoke reducing visibility and air quality. QFES and QPWS in conjunction with the Butchulla people are working to limit the spread of the fire and minimise environmental and cultural impacts. Travel to the island remains restricted. 03.01.2022 Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland for DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL For people in parts of Southern Downs and Toowoomba Council Areas. Issued at 7:18 pm Wednesday, 2 December 2020.... The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:10 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Tipton. These thunderstorms are slow moving. They are forecast to affect the area southwest of Dalby by 7:40 pm and the area south of Dalby by 8:10 pm. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely. Dalby: 145km/h wind gust was recorded at 6:06pm Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
