25.01.2022 I keep seeing the words uncertain times, and at first it was true. There was great uncertainty. I have just been meditating and realized why I find those par...ticular words irritating. Now... We can be certain that this virus is real. We can be certain it has impacted our lives, either directly or indirectly, and for many creating change that is permanent or having far-reaching repercussions. Also for many it is a more temporary impact. I dont know which it is for you...but... Uncertainty triggers fear, and we dont need those words engendering more fear around the feeling of powerlessness it implies. So from now on when I see those words, I intend to say aloud... I am certain these times are a time of great change, a time to re-evaluate our life choices, and I am certain I will value each and every day, and only take on the decisions of that day, and be happy and grateful for all that is good in my life. I just wanted to share this insight in case it helps you feel better about today. Peace and love to all dear friends. See more

25.01.2022 Has this experience given you an opportunity for a different perspective of your life? Are there any changes, even simply subtle changes of attitude, that you will make following this experience?

24.01.2022 Use your time in meditation to contemplate your situation. Are you wanting change?

23.01.2022 Looking to buy a mat thats also friendly to the environment? Check these out.

22.01.2022 Never underestimate the value of routine and ritual in a practice of meditation. My routine is to meditate straight after my morning drink of water after waking. Occasionally I will get distracted to doing something else, like Facebook or making a herbal tea... and then tidying the kitchen, or feeding the cat (truthfully the day almost always starts with feeding the cat ) I digress, and therein is the problem, because if I dont give my meditation first priority, before I know it the grandies are arriving for the day and my window to meditate is closed. So, decide upon your best time for your practice, where and how, and then stick with it like your life depends on it. Ritual is such an important aspect, because if you break that routine, even for obsessive meditators like me, its hard to make the space for it otherwise.

21.01.2022 I imagine my meditation practice has helped me remain calm during this crisis. However, I was beginning to feel anxious that I am not panicking, and wondering are they right and I have it all wrong. Now Ians blog makes perfect sense of it all. So I will continue as before, back to feeling calm, and believing and praying we will all be well. If youre feeling anxious, please read this, or contact me for a FaceTime chat.

20.01.2022 You will know love and acceptance for yourself and others once you achieve this.

20.01.2022 And then move, like doing some yoga stretches is good. Message me if you would like some suggestions. We can chat on Messenger.

19.01.2022 A generous offer.

17.01.2022 I used to facilitate this meditation using raisins in my classes. A very enjoyable meditation/ mindfulness practice.

17.01.2022 The effects of meditation continue after the time in meditation. And this is cumulative, meaning the longer you maintain the habit of a daily practice, the longer the positive impact remains for you through the day. Thats the incentive for developing a daily habit of meditation. Between 10-15 minutes a day is sufficient for the benefits to be felt. I began my personal daily practice with 13 minutes on my timer, and soon experienced the reward for my discipline. Its a form if self care that costs nothing. Its a way to love yourself.

16.01.2022 Clare has launched her beautiful store online now too, so take a look if you need some ideas for help using crystals.

15.01.2022 If you dont follow Ian already, then I highly recommend you do. I trust any information he shares on this page about meditation and wellbeing in general, because I know he has researched it from reliable, credible sources. I have been fortunate to have met Ian during my meditation teacher training and conferences, and he is a caring, intelligent and humble person. A truly compassionate and enlightening being. Like his page.

13.01.2022 I regularly use my Shakti mat, usually weekly, but sometimes days in a row for my feet. I have been asked a few times where to buy them, so I am sharing this now for you. The link explains its benefits.

12.01.2022 We create our own silence.

12.01.2022 Keep your calm by questioning whether you need to know what is being reported. Choose carefully what you give your attention to.

11.01.2022 My teachers Ian & Ruth Gawler have created a meditation app, Allevi8. In addition to the excellent guided meditations available on the app, users of the app are invited to a free meditation session via Zoom each Monday at 8pm. I attended last week on the contemplation Who Am I?, and this evening for Gratitude meditation and contemplation, led by Saurabh Mishra. He introduced each session with an explanation, so even a beginner will feel capable as he guides us in the medi...tation. I highly recommend both the app, and the Zoom meditation. These are offered for free, or by donation. Extremely kind, and for which I am personally grateful. Join us if you wish. See more

11.01.2022 Every minute you perform hundreds of karmic actions, yet you are hardly conscious of any of them. In the stillness of meditation, however, you can listen to you...r mind, the source of all this activity. You learn to be aware of your actions to a far greater extent than ever before. This self-awareness leads to self-control, enabling you to master your karma rather than be mastered by it. Lama Yeshe

10.01.2022 For those of us in Qld, the time is 7pm tonight. As I have said previously, I recommend this wonderful service provided by Ian and the Allevi8 team. Join us.

09.01.2022 Refuge is within.

07.01.2022 According to Ayurveda/Ayurvedic Medicine, we are designed to breathe only through our nose, unless there is some emergency or life threatening situation. ...This is even in high-intensity exercise. Most people, mouth breathe when they exercise which leads to a lack of mind-body integration, increased free-radical damage (and resulting fatigue and muscle soreness) and lowered subjective enjoyment of exercise. The ancient yogis understood that by employing deep, diaphragmatic yogic nasal breathing, including the ancient practice of ujjayi pranayama, we can completely transform not only our experience of exercise but also our results. I write all about this in Ch4 of my book but have also done a recent podcast on it. See episodes #6 and #41 on Markbunn.com.au/podcast Happy exercising! #ayurveda #ayurvedicmedicine #pranayama #ujaibreath #ayurvedicexercise #yogibreathing #yogibreath #nasalbreathing #nasalbreathe

06.01.2022 Finally... a meditation joke.

06.01.2022 Be grateful for the small things.

05.01.2022 You simply need to pause and listen. Eventually the noise will settle, like the sparkles in a snow globe, and you will find that special space.

04.01.2022 Need a meditative game during the isolation???

04.01.2022 Inclusivity in yoga. Its what yoga is all about...for everyone.

04.01.2022 Covers some basic information, but also some gems. And a reminder from me that I am available via messaging or FaceTime to help you on your own meditation journey.

04.01.2022 Some simple coping advice for now.

04.01.2022 Rest in Peace (or dance on) beautiful Tao

03.01.2022 I can help you with this. Remotely if needed.

03.01.2022 Did anyone else join the Allevi8 Zoom meditation tonight? Progressive muscle relaxation meditation led by Cathy Brown. Perfect to let go of the stresses of the day. As Cathy said, it’s important to achieve physical relaxation before expecting to relax the mind, to move into that deeper stillness of meditation. That’s the purpose of the practice of asana and pranayama in yoga too. ... We need to have a daily practice, so when the times arise that we really need to relax and meditate, it will be familiar. Here’s a little video I made this evening relaxing by the river at the end of my day. Enjoy. See more

02.01.2022 Definitely recommend you get this app and take advantage of the meditations.

01.01.2022 Best to have no expectations, but perhaps a simpler intention of inner peace and calm.
