This will be prepared by Miss Collins with the help of some year 5 or year 6 students. This savoury snack will be served at second break in the Parent Room so don't forget your $1! 24.01.2022 This week our BUZ Ranger program commenced for 21 students in Year 5 with a full day training. The BUZ Ranger program helps students develop leadership skills as a Playground Leader and Peer Mediator across our school. This role is designed to help make the playground a fairer and safer place for students, reduce the incidences of bullying, help students with conflict resolution, help students make and keep friends and further develop an ethos of respect and tolerance in the school. In other words making the school a Build-Up Zone.

18.01.2022 We recently had over fifty students in Years 3-5 participate in Mission Australia's project, 'Have Your Say Through Art'. We are so very fortunate to have received the winning reward of $700 for having so many students contribute. Students were invited to create an artwork with one of the following community themes - strong, connected, healthy, inclusive, resilient or thriving. All artwork, from all local schools will be available to view online and we will post this inform...ation when it becomes available. Some of the art created by our students is included below. 16.01.2022 From Monday, parents who park and pick up their children will be able to wait on school site! Parents are able to wait in the UNDERCOVER AREA ready for the end of the school day. Students will be released at 245pm from the green handball area and Preps from their area. ... Car pick up will be continuing, with staff assistance.

Order forms plus a $10 deposit per shirt to be paid at the office. Full payment of shirt can also be made.

Thank you to Forest Lake Mens Shed for creating 4 Giant Connect Four, 4 x Noughts and Crosses and 1 x giant Jenga. Our students will get so much use out of this equipment. #servicetonstrong

15.01.2022 Multicultural Month is held each year in August. This year we were unable to celebrate this event with our usual Multicultural Day Concert. However we would like to still acknowledge this celebration so we are holding a smaller Multicultural Day event this Tuesday. Students are invited to wear traditional dress (no gold coin needed) and they will have the opportunity to participate in a range of cultural events at the break times. We look forward to inviting parents back to these celebrations next year.

13.01.2022 Our ABC Celebration Day for the end of Term 4 will be held next week. Students will attend this celebration on their designated day, in class groups. This is a fun celebration for keeping cool during the warmer weather.

11.01.2022 We are so excited that our Beach Safety Program commences tomorrow at Southbank's, Streets Beach. Surf Lifesaving Queensland lifeguards will educate our students through land and water activities so they develop a range of skills to help keep them safe. #ServicetonStrong
11.01.2022 As part of our PBL celebrations, our end of Term 4 ABC Celebration Day, was held yesterday for P-3 and today for 4-6. Our students had so much fun participating in a range of water play activities on the top oval. Thank you Mrs Parkinson for organising this fun water event which was definitely a winner with our current warm temperatures. #servicetonstrong
11.01.2022 Premier's Reading Challenge ENDS this Friday 28 August. All completed forms are to be handed into the office or to the class teacher. The class with the most students having completed the challenge will win an amazing prize delivered next term.
11.01.2022 This week we celebrated the end of Term 3 with each class holding their ABC Celebration party. Our Year 1 students had a great time doing box construction which filled the entire classroom. Others classes completed activities including; craft, painting, Teddy Bears Picnic, Trivia Quiz, outside games and treasure hunts. At lunchtime it was a pleasure to hear the sounds from our Instrumental Music students who did a pop up performance in the playground. Have a safe and restful holiday. 05.01.2022 Yesterday our students participated in a range of cultural activities to acknowledge the cultural diversity in our school and celebrate Multicultural Day. We also had many of our students wear their traditional clothing. Multicultural month is celebrated in August each year but we were unable hold our usual concert celebration due to covid. Thank you to our Inclusion staff for organising this wonderful event for our students.

03.01.2022 Today we were excited to visit the Year 6 Travel Expo in the school hall. Students presented their travel advertisement on an Asian country and did a very convincing job at persuading the audience, to select their chosen destination for a future holiday. We are all looking forward to an overseas adventure in the future! Students also presented their researched information on a natural disaster in Asia. 02.01.2022 Last night we celebrated our Year 6 students at their Graduation Ceremony. It was a wonderful evening where all students were acknowledged for completing this important chapter in their lives. Thank you to our P&C for gifting our students a Serviceton South tumbler, Mrs Parkinson for baking the Graduation cupcakes and all staff who assisted in making this a beautiful evening. We wish our students all the very best for high school and beyond.
02.01.2022 This term our Prep B class created an information text, 'The Wild Book of Australian Animals'. We are very impressed with their researched information and writing skills. Congratulations on a successful term of learning.
01.01.2022 The Scholastic Book Fair commences this Thursday and runs until next Tuesday 15 September in our school library. Students can purchase books, posters and fun stationery items before school from 8am-8:30am each day and at both lunch breaks. Cash payment is preferred. Mrs Thomas and Mrs O will be on hand to help students as required. A percentage of total sales will be given back to the school to purchase more books for our library. Unfortunately due to covid, parents are unable to visit our book fair this year.
