13.01.2022 Qld deployment day 3: The team was again split between the ICC/SA at Agnes Water fire station and the aircraft base at a nearby airfield. Most states are represented between these sites with Fire, SES and Parks personnel from different jurisdictions all working together. High temps (30+) and high humidity at times (80-90%+) made for sweaty work. Thunderstorm and plenty of rain by the end of the day hopefully put a damper on the fires.

06.01.2022 Qld deployment day 5: Returning to Tassie. The earliest start of the week to drive from Agnes Water to Gladstone for an 8am flight. Two more flights back to Tasmania. We had a nice last minute surprise while boarding... being thanked and farewelled by 3 members from Gladstone Regional Council who gave us a small token of appreciation (pictured). ... The airport is very busy with many other emergency service personnel returning home today.
