16.01.2022 Last Saturday one of our volunteer members joined other NSW SES #Volunteers from across the State including our colleagues from NSW SES Ulladulla Unit as part of Strike force Bravo, to assist our brothers and sisters in Queensland after Ipswich was devastated by a hail storm. Maddie joined our unit in February of this year and despite the training challenges faced during the COVID pandemic, was able to complete her Storm and Water Damage training, giving her the skill set req...uired to assist not only our local community but State wide and interstate when required. Putting her new skills to work Maddie was part of a composite team with members from NSW SES Bega Valley Units, NSW SES Lake Macquarie Unit and NSW SES Casino Unit while on deployment and said It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of the Bravo team deployment, to help out with the recent hailstorm. Helping out other towns, cities and states is a great way to build new skills, friends and knowledge to pass on to local units, not to mention it was great fun. Thanks for having us QLD!
