21.01.2022 The Beautiful Beast. Our 6K Cinema Camera. Pure Some days I love playing behind the camera. Some days I love playing in front. Some days I love standing next to the camera, playing teacher. Sometimes I love editing in a dark room- wearing trackies. Years ago, I waited for permission, to do all the things I love. Permission from those (I worked out later), who didnt have the knowledge, talent or heart to impose any creative boundaries. Occasionally, today, I still see thos...e in this gig imposing permission. Or at least trying to. They are new(ish), but pretty much have the same traits as those from 20 years ago- and like those from 20 years ago, they wont be around in 20 years (many got fired). One thing I do know, the joy and the love grew the minute I stopped listening to those imposing the rules, the minute I stopped asking permission, and the minute I started feeling my worth. This technique enabled the actor to find the inner character, within arms reach of certain bodies of water. Boucher would progress the actors character exploration, based on the size of the mass of water. So much being written in 2020, is by adults caring for their own agendas, myself included... But then you gotta have a moment to think, what would all this be like, as a teenager right now? These young creators are the present and the future of a new state of the arts.... Their innovation and creativity is going to carve out a new way of viewing, performing and consuming - and that is exciting. We always need to support our youth, not only in the arts - but for the environment, Sport, Science, whatever the heck theyre into. To lock your doors and wait for the storm to pass over- so you can go back to exactly the same structure as before, isnt what the future is doing, and quite frankly, its not very creative.
