How awesome that someone donated these to Reverse Garbage to save them for being disposed of and ending up in land fill. 21.01.2022 BEARS Sorry, they’re not for sale is what I had to tell someone that spotted our donations of Last Cuddles Bears. These adorable, handmade bears will be given to grieving families that have to deal with the heart breaking experience of child loss. We hope these bears will bring them a little hope and love from a stranger. We are still collecting bears to send out to volunteers that help these families. Bears can be dropped off at our workshop, deadline now extended until the end of the month. Look up the Last Cuddles Bear Project for more information and free patterns. 18.01.2022 ALMOST DONE These face masks just needed their elastic added and then they were in the post today! Were still busy making your orders. We never anticipated we would get this many, so we cannot apologise enough if you are still waiting for your masks. While still running our workshop, every night theres fabric being cut or sewn to get everyones order made. Each mask is made to order. Thank you for all the lovely feedback and comments we have received so far.... Most designs on our website are currently sold out while we complete orders. But ordering will be available again soon with new fabric prints to choose from too. 17.01.2022 ELASTIC Thats 100 metres of elastic gone!! Its crazy to think I have measured and cut over 100 metres of elastic for face masks. Dont worry theres a few more rolls to go. Who would have ever thought that there would be an elastic shortage?! Who else is making face masks? I ordered extra flat elastic in black and white to share because some people have been asking if we sell elastic.

13.01.2022 MANY HANDS ... Make light work! Here are some little helping hands putting stamps on your face mask orders. So if it looks like a drunk person put stamps on your parcel - it wasnt me! And if youre lucky, this little person also rides his bike to the big red post box and pops your parcel in the shoot. These little things make cutting, sewing, packing and posting your orders so much more fun. More orders going in the post tomorrow!... 13.01.2022 MEMORIES Our birthday has snuck up on us this year (its in a couple of days). Maybe because theres so much other stuff happening in the world right now. Heres a lovely memory from Facebook, on this day 8 years ago, we made our first sale - but we werent even officially open yet! I cant even remember what the item was, it was some haberdashery. Sold to a guy who was in desperate need. The start of many great memories.

12.01.2022 PEPPER BY REQUEST Since Sew Make Create celebrated its 8th birthday a week ago, we should honour our cutest and fluffiest staff member, Pepper Tan-Lu. Pepper may be the noisiest but smallest, cheekiest, loudest-snoring, sandwich-stealing, most-attention-seeking workshop dog there is, but she does make our workshop a super fun place. It wouldnt be the same without her. She laps up all the extra love and cuddles she gets from our customers. And were sure some of you come ju...st to see her, even though you paid to do a class! As requested, here is a comparison of Pepper from 8 years ago and now. Still as cute as ever. Ageing gracefully but sometimes still behaves like a naughty puppy, and celebrating her 11th birthday in a weeks time. Please note, Pepper currently only works Sundays. So please book your workshops accordingly to avoid disappointment

10.01.2022 AIRTHREAD 2000D This fancy overlocker is the Janome Australia AirThread 2000D - the ultimate overlocker with self-threading! What is self-threading you ask?? For the two most annoying threads (the upper and lower looper) the machines uses air to push the thread through for you. Theres no tricky hooks or awkward loops to go through. Just put the end of the thread into the hole and use the lever. Check out the videos (in the following posts) if you dont believe me! You have... to see it in action. And if you have your sound on you will hear the air going through. This overlocker has everything. Easy, inlay threading, of course the air threading and even a needle threader. It does 4, 3 and 2 thread overlocking and a narrow, rolled hem. At the time of this post this model is on special for $1,499, and comes with a bonus, canvas carry bag. 10.01.2022 FINISHED SKIRT Remember the pretty fabric we shared during the week? Well Flora finished her skirt today! And we all love it! Flora attended our Introduction to Sewing Course just a few weeks ago, our Sew a Skirt Workshop was her second class, so we are very impressed. 09.01.2022 ELASTIC FOR We have elastic suitable for face masks to share! Whos making face masks this weekend? It looks like the elastic shortage is finally over, so weve restocked for our face mask orders plus got a bit more for those who have been searching for elastic. 2mm wide, round elastic is available in black and white. This elastic is durable, long lasting and looks finished. Its suitable for threading through, it can be a bit tricky to stitch in.... 5mm wide, braided elastic is available in black and white. Being flat, this is better for masks that have their elastic sewn in. Its a bit softer than the round elastic if thats what you prefer. Send us a message, email or call to order. 08.01.2022 THE LITTLE THINGS If you ordered a face mask or two from us here are a few little things that come with your mask: Instructions on how to customise the fit of your mask to give yourself the best, most comfortable projection. Instructions on how to wash your mask to keep it clean and reuse over and over again. Extra elastic in case you need to replace your elastic or wish to wear it with the elastic around your head for a tighter fit to the face.... Paper clips that can be straightened and inserted into the pocket of your face mask to use as a nose wire. This helps it stay on your face, and also seals it on your face to stop your glasses fogging up when you breathe. A little hand written thank you, because we are super grateful for your support and patience while we rush to get everyones orders made. Most designs on our website are currently sold out while we cut, sew and pack as fast as we can to get everyones orders out. We will have new stock and new print designs available in a couple of weeks once we get on top of the current orders. 01.01.2022 GRANDMAS STASH Why dont they package sewing accessories and haberdashery like this anymore? The design, typography and colours make snap fasteners and hooks & eyes exciting. These were from my Grandma in a bag of sewing things she gave me. I love vintage sewing things! They are so lovely I might just admire them and never use them. Who knows how old these are, but they are true to their claim and rustless!

01.01.2022 OUR 8TH BIRTHDAY Wow, I cant believe on this day in 2012 we opened our workshop/shop doors for the first time. Time definitely flies when youre having fun! And Im so grateful for all our lovely customers who support this small business and enable me to do what I love every day - theres not many people we can claim that! And Ive been doing it for the past 8 years. Like many others, this years birthday is very different, in the shadow of a horrible virus that has turned... our world upside down. We cant have our usual birthday celebrations, but am just so grateful that were still here because of you and our wonderful community. I never thought in a million years that I would spend our 8th birthday sewing face masks! But its a privilege to make something so important and needed at this time. We celebrated with some rich chocolate treats from the @merchantsofultimo, which doesnt quite compare to our amazing logo cake from our opening. 01.01.2022 BIRTHDAY PUP Many of you have met Pepper, our fluffy workshop dog. Today she turns 11 years old! And yes, weve been lucky enough to have her since she was 9 weeks old. Because everyone asks, @pepperpuginese is a pug x pekingese, and she makes our workshop welcoming, dog-friendly and noisy. If you havent met Pepper, we hope you will get to meet her soon.
