22.01.2022 T12 and 234 have been reading the book The Magic Beach. Yesterday we went to town to watch the play, have some fish and chips and visit the real beach! Everyone was amazing and had such a good time in the theatre, playing in the sand and hunting for crabs

21.01.2022 On Wednesday the 456 Class and the Senior Class travelled to the Entertainment Centre in Darwin to see ‘The 91-Storey Treehouse.’ This production was based on a book that we had read earlier this year. It was a really funny story and we loved the colourful scenery, the bright lights and the silly characters on stage. We stopped at McDonald’s for lunch afterwards and even a bit of rain on the way home did not ruin a fantastic day out! Our teachers said we were AWESOME!

21.01.2022 This must look like playing to some people but we are measuring, problem solving, estimating, organising and recording..... AND that was just during this session!!!! Our equipment is not only fun but we are learning so much by using it

17.01.2022 Today is Fairy Bread Day! It’s not only a fun day where we get to eat fairy bread but during this season of Advent we can help others by raising money and awareness for the charity ReachOut. ReachOut is an online mental health service for young people and their parents in Australia.... We will be selling ice cups at school until they run out, so bring in your 50c to buy one after school starting tomorrow! Years 4/5/6 are definitely professionals at making fairy bread and not too bad at making it disappear either!

09.01.2022 Last weekend was Clean Up the World Weekend and today we did our part by collecting plastic bottles and aluminium cans around different parts of our community. We are proud that this rubbish will now not end up in our river and other waterways which feed into the ocean. We may have helped to save some sea creatures and wildlife from harm. Added bonus - we can recycle and save our money for something special at school!

09.01.2022 Swimming lessons began today in preparation for our swimming carnival this Friday!!

08.01.2022 At the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month, we will remember them. Lest We Forget

08.01.2022 Today we celebrated NAIDOC! We began the day with Welcome to Country and then a wonderful dance display by some of our students. It was wonderful to have our three local schools come together with the community. St Francis Xavier School, Woolianna Public School and Tipperary Station School joined together for a Crocwise talk from Parks and Wildlife, face painting under the shade of the big tree, slip and slide down a slippery slope, as well as screen printing and painting for the girls, whilst the boys practiced their spear throwing skills over in the horse paddock. We would like to thank all of the volunteers that came to make this day fun for everyone, as well as all of the weeks of preparation and organisation from our teachers.

08.01.2022 Wishing everyone safe and happy holidays. See you all back for Term 4 on Monday 19 October!

06.01.2022 Today was Remembrance Day. It is a day we remember all Australians who have fought and died in wars whilst protecting our country. St Francis Xavier staff and students assembled at 11 o’clock on the 11th day of the 11th month to remember and pay our respects.

01.01.2022 Last week Hannah from the Catholic Education Office in Darwin came to school to do some work with the teachers. Hannah also visited our classrooms and showed us some different ways that we can pray using Play-Doh and bubbles. As it was Hannah‘s first visit to Daly River we took her for a little tour around the community, down to the crossing and then back home to pick some mangoes. Thanks for coming out Hannah we hope you enjoyed your visit!
