25.01.2022 Say hello to the newest member of the S. team, Archie! With a background in puppy school, Archie brings youthful enthusiasm and playful energy to the office on a daily basis. He loves meeting new people and will excitedly greet visitors to the office with a lick (in exchange for a belly rub). When he isnt busy spreading joy throughout the office, you can find him at home with his lovely family, chewing things, exploring and napping in the sun.... If the question is "whos a good boy?" then the answer is definitely Archie #Chasetennisballs
25.01.2022 Located on Trevallyn, this recently completed architectural home boasts uninterrupted views across the River Tamar and Launceston, and across to the mountains. Designed to follow the sun from rise to set, the upper floor (on the entry level) incorporates the main living area and master suite, whilst the lower floor consists of a further living space, two bedrooms and bathroom. In addition to this home, our client wished to develop a second dwelling on this extremely steep sit...e. Located below the main house, the second home incorporates open plan living and three bedrooms, and is currently on the market with Flanagan Residential. A grand entry with street appeal, a mixture of crisp textures, sun lit spaces, and extraordinary views, were really pleased with the outcome of this project! #ChaseWonder

23.01.2022 #Throwback Thursday! The Black House in George St (Launceston) was designed to ensure that the occupants are able to enjoy the incredible views of the city from all key spaces of the dwelling. The form seeks to sensitively complement the old brick house, whilst facilitating an outdoor living lifestyle via generous use of openings and layering of thresholds.... 22.01.2022 "Where city meets nature, East meets west, Home meets ambition. Perched on the western hills of Launceston, purveying the city, towards the mountains. Join us at Duchess, and find where life is."... We recently teamed up with The Baker Group to help create the branding and marketing strategies, along with the marketing material of their new townhouse development in West Launceston. 21.01.2022 We seem to have shared lots of project progress shots lately... but that's because we've got lots of projects currently under construction! Our team dropped by this one in Leith on Tassie's north-west coast recently - the construction crew from Mead Con are cracking along beautifully Designed to take full advantage of the spectacular outlook, the home finds itself tucked in behind, whilst peeking over-top the native coastal flora. On the upper floor the main living spaces b...oast generous volume, with steel structural members being utilised to deal with the large spans. 21.01.2022 Are you allowed to have a favourite client? Well regardless of the answer, we LOVE working with Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary! I mean how could you not love staring at photos of the devils, quolls, kangaroos... and of course those wombats After guiding Trowunna through a re-brand in 2017, in recent months we have worked with the team to design and develop a new website which better reflects their brand and serves the organisation. With eCommerce capabilities, the website has... enabled Trowunna to diversify their income stream which has been vitally important in light of COVID and the impacts to visitation of the sanctuary. With every purchase, funds go directly to help run the sanctuary and make a difference for the future of Tasmania’s incredible wildlife. So what are you waiting for? 20.01.2022 Number 7 - the S&S House! This gem flirts with the unexpected. Crafted on a challenging site, this beauty stands bold to the sun and the surrounding organic views, whilst within its walls, a mnage trois of style, sophistication and warmth complements the generous living experience.... What makes a project unforgettable? Sometimes its developing the solution for a challenging site, other times its the stunning outcome when the construction site is dismantled and a home is revealed... or maybe the wonderful relationship that is developed with some amazing clients. Well for this one, it was and is, all of the above! Starting the journey in 2015, the S&S House is a project that we are extremely proud of, and we are so pleased to see the joy that this home brings for our clients Check out more, including a video of Tim and Samuel sharing about the home here: www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/the-s-s-house Builder: Davies Design & Construction #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder
20.01.2022 Were passionate about innovative educational design, and proud to have partnered with progressive Victorian private school, Victory Christian College for the past 6 years! An established school in Bendigo with extensive ties within the community, we have worked closely with VCC in response to projected growth of student enrolments. Familiar with their vision, values, ethos and design priorities, our team worked hard to develop the multi-year facilities and Architecture maste...r-plan, coupled with a considered brand and marketing strategy for the school, incorporating multiple enrolment marketing campaigns. Our understanding of revenue per student required to provide cash-flow for both the operational and staged capital works growth, coupled with the creation and implementation of the schools marketing strategy, has seen $10M of capital works already developed to-date including the Secondary Centre, Senior Hub, Gymnasium, and currently in design development a new hub incorporating Science, Food, Art and multiple flexible General Learning Areas. We look forward to continuing to work with VCC to expand the future of education for their students! #ChaseWonder VCC.victorychristiancollege
20.01.2022 We couldnt have put it better ourselves so hear it directly from Clifton and the The Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission: It really has been a special one (week) and a few exciting things have happened. Let us get straight into it and share the very best news: our new Staff Accommodation building is OPEN! Yes, you read those words correctly. After 3 years of work, countless setbacks, problems and even a court case...we are finally open! While there is still work to be done... (particularly on the outside of the building) we cut the ribbon across the homes so that Aunty Peggy and Esthers families could move in and enjoy their very first "dry" monsoon in decades! We want to say a HUGE thank you to all of the amazing people who helped support this project. For standing by us through all of the delays. We thank God for His incredible provision; this building will forever stand for us as a testimony to His grace in our lives. In dedication to our amazing friends at S. Group - without whom none of this would have happened - we have decided to name the building "S. Block," a perfect fit given that we have called it our Staff Accommodation since day 1. We are incredibly thankful to S. for their amazing support and constant encouragement since the start of Project Banbasa (the fundraising campaign for this building)." For S. the project kicked off in 2017 with our team taking a trip to northern India, from which the scope and design of the housing project was developed. Following this, a fundraising event and campaign was carried out, in which over $200,000 (no thats not a typo!) was pledged and raised for the construction of the project! Now officially opened, this new development will not only create space for additional staff and teachers to be hired and housed, but it will also provide dignity and respect for the long-term staff members and their families, many of whom work without pay, having served their entire lives on the mission grounds. If youd like to see some of the progress shots and even some video footage then head through to our website: www.sgroup.com.au/philanthropy/indian-orphanage #ChaseWonder
20.01.2022 We thought it was about time to check back in on the Mead Con crew at Devonport. Construction of Shree Family Dental Cares new home is ticking along nicely, currently forecasting to be due for completion in late-October. Located on Victoria Parade, the ground floor dental practice and first floor apartments will enjoy a spectacular outlook across the Mersey River!... We look forward to seeing this project completed in the near future. #ChaseWonder
19.01.2022 Adorned with the nickname "Tasmania House" by our client whom was making their move back to this island, this is a spectacular home on a spectacular site overlooking kanamaluka. The home is flooded with sunlight from the moment the sun crests the mountains east of Launceston, and then enjoys the last light hitting those same mountains as each day ends. A key feature of the architecture is the exposed structural steel members that run through the home, and dramatically punch t...hrough the glazing out onto the deck. Beautifully detailed, carefully considered, and tastefully styled, we're really proud of Tasmania House and excited for our client and their future in it! #ChaseWonder
19.01.2022 Our opinion may be a little biased, however we reckon our in-house photo & video team nailed the imagery for the Duchess development, located in West Launceston. 18.01.2022 We've made it onto the home stretch of our Top Ten, and coming in at 5th position is a project that we fondly named St Lukes. It's almost everyone's dream to grab an old church and turn it into a dwelling, and man, did we have some fun with this! The church is actually St Andrews Anglican Church, which was constructed in 1879, and as the old saying goes "they don't build buildings like this anymore". Typically these old churches were cold, they were masonry inside and out, an...d they had minimal glazingso were starved of sunlight... so how did we bring modern living into a space like this? We started the journey on this project back in 2015. Our client had a dream to build a family home within the walls of the church, whilst preserving the historic value of this heritage listed property for the enjoyment of future generations. Although the brief did not originally specify that additions were to be made to the structures, we landed on the decision to construct a new living wing behind the existing building. This wing is connected by a glass link-way into the existing rear doorway access to the alter. What this means is that the infill construction to the church is reduced to the bedrooms and bathrooms as a pod, and no part of this structure overlaps or intersects with the existing walls or roof system. In essence it is entirely free standing within the space, with a mezzanine style master suite. The newly built portion of the house is sited in such a way that it is almost invisible from the street - without looking, there are few clues as to the residential nature of the building. An uncomplicated living space stretches along the rear boundary, with generous amounts of glass facing into the sheltered garden courtyard. It was such an honour to work with our client on this project, and we'd invite you to head through to our website to not only check out more photos, but to take a short 'video' tour of the home: www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/st-lukes-2 #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder

17.01.2022 Vale Mark Bartkevicius Substation holds a very special place in our hearts here at S. It was an absolute priviledge and honour to have played a role in this project - thank you Karen and Mark for the opportunity to have journeyed with you on this amazing project. ... The former Hydro-Electric Substation, built in 1922, is one of Launceston’s most controversial landmarks. Situated high above the city and commanding attention, this grand, industrial gem is rich with historical and cultural significance. Since its closure in the 1960s, the once distinguished, redbrick Victorian-style substation had fallen into a state of disrepair. Posing many challenging and exciting design propositions, the brief was to see it turned into a functional and beautiful home. Perhaps the strongest design priority, which became inherent in all aspects of the design work, was to respect, restore and celebrate the existing heritage fabric, especially the original bricks, lime wash patina and distinctive façade details left over from its original glory days. Acknowledging its past use, this project ultimately sought to begin an exciting new, but modest chapter in the building’s history. To realise this design priority, a painstaking process was undertaken by local trades to restore the façade to its original 1920's condition. The proposed internal work to convert the substation to a comfortable home was specifically designed not to detract from or dominate the original fabric in any way. Internally, it was important to maintain an industrial aesthetic and expose the original features. Divided into an upper and lower floor, the upper floor consisted of a single slab of polished concrete, set in 100mm from the original brick walls to differentiate the old and new. Splashes of stainless steel and black epoxy steel balustrades further enrich the industrial aesthetic. Together with Mark and Karen, we were able to holistically and sensitively repurpose the building, to a degree where the history remains integral and prominent in the overall scheme, but the contemporary program and aesthetic is reflective of the owners' personalities, values and life experiences. The experience was extensive, lengthy and, at times, tiring, but also exhilarating and fulfilling, for all involved. This project has seen the Hydro-Electric Substation reinstated with a classic, yet vivacious contemporary twist. Along with an abundance of local press coverage, there was national interest in this signifiant project which culminated in Substation featuring on Grand Designs Australia - Season 6. So there it is folks - our "Top Ten" S. homes of all-time, as voted by our architecture team themselves! We hope you enjoyed the Top Ten journey even just a little bit... because we sure had a blast looking back and celebrating some of the wonderful projects from the past 10 years! #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder
17.01.2022 We have enjoyed a close and rewarding working relationship with Devonport Christian School since 2014. Originally approached to assist and guide the school through a master plan process, we worked with the school management, board and community to develop a multi-year strategic plan incorporating growth strategies, staged capital works, and financial modeling to accompany. Commencing with an extension and refurbishment of the administration building in 2015, we have since con...tinued to work with the school on projects such as the new entry, car park, and kiss and drop; the JILOA Centre (Multi-Purpose facility), and under construction now - a new STEM Centre (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) Overall to-date, successful completion of $3.5M of capital works across the 6 years, supporting the school in their mission to develop students through high quality, holistic primary education in a Christ-centred school community. We applaud DCS on their vision, are excited to see how far the school has come over the past half dozen years, and look forward to continuing to work with them in the years to come! #ChaseWonder
17.01.2022 It goes without saying that we're beyond proud of our very own Claire Hayes, who featured in The Guardian this past weekend We applaud Claire's courage, vulnerability, resilience, passion and hard work in founding Grapple Isle, along with developing its innovational trauma-informed martial arts programs for survivors of trauma, including sexual violence. In Claire's own words:... "Having lived experience of trauma and it's effects, discovering jiu-jitsu has been life-changing. Jiu-jitsu gives you a sense of empowerment and a feeling of gaining control of your body, so removing the barriers to entry for trauma survivors (and any women looking for a safe and friendly environment to try jiu-jitsu) is a big passion of mine." We are cheering you on Claire!! #ChaseWonder

16.01.2022 CONGRATS to our clients Glenorchy City Council for being awarded the Environmental Leadership and Sustainability Award from the Local Government Professionals Australia (TAS) for the FOGO project! We are proud to have teamed up with the Council on this project - from developing the initial strategy and creative concept, to branding, marketing strategy and roll-out of the advertising campaign, design of collateral and print materials, photography and videography, through to ...the design and development of a bespoke website. 16.01.2022 Coming in at number 2, as voted by our architecture team in the "Top Ten" S. houses of all-time is Hawley House! Located in the quaint seaside township of Hawley, this new home enjoys a rare, absolute beachfront outlook across the water to Narawntapu National Park. This home, replacing an existing 'not fit for purpose' house, was conceived with the extended family in mind. The ground floor is perfect for multiple family members whilst retaining a level of privacy for each oc...cupant. The first floor living and master suite take advantage of the epic views and north facing orientation. The timeless, contemporary design realises all of our client’s ideals. Modern and well appointed, the result is a combination of striking forms tied together by a ‘flying’ living room roof. Beautifully finished, the brick cladding grounds the dwelling whilst the cement sheet, copper and colorbond are materialised through simple lines and pure forms. We're in love with Hawley House, and word on the street is that it has been known to cause a few traffic issues as peeps cruise along Hawley Esplanade and take a sticky-beak Well, that's 9 down, which must mean there's only 1 house left to reveal. Can you guess which home topped the votes in our Top Ten? #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder Builder: Davies Design & Construction Photography: anjie blair - photographer Interior Styling: Lydia Maskiell Interiors
15.01.2022 As voted by our Architecture Team, 8th spot in our Top Ten goes to the Long House! Located in Woodbridge, about 40 minutes south of Hobart, we find the Long House. The brief consisted of three simple ideas: beauty, livability and timeliness. Our architects collaborated with this awesome young couple to create something truly special that would be a stunning family space for years to come. Perched along the contour of a steep hillside, and looking north towards Hobart scenery ...and waterways, the design draws itself along the hill, minimising scarring of the site. The end result feels nestled and like it has been in place for years. Modest in size yet highly considered in form and detail, the home draws on traditional gable forms and materiality. Careful placement and scaling of glazing and doors ensures the home draws on the sun and summer breeze to passively heat and cool the home. We are honoured to have worked with a special couple (now 3) in creating a house to call home, and a place in which they can create beautiful memories Builder: Skookom Photography: Ali Davis Photography #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder
15.01.2022 Up next, and coming in at number 9 on our Top Ten is The Black House! Working closely with our clients through 2015-2016, The Black House in George St, Launceston, has been designed to ensure that the occupants can enjoy incredible views of the city from all key spaces of the dwelling. The original home is not listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register and its history is mostly unknown, but its character was what attracted the new owners to it in the first place. With this in ...mind, we undertook to design an addition that would both contrast, and complement the old home, in place of the recent renovations and extension that had previously been carried out. We loved working with our clients on this project, and were really proud of the outcome! 15.01.2022 There's no doubt in our mind that the "Top Ten" S. homes were absolute crackers and worthy of the recognition that they received! But we didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so thought we could hand out some 'participation awards' for a few other homes that were narrowly edged out of the top ten So based on the votes of our Archi team, falling just outside the Top Ten S. houses of all-time were the following projects: 11. Bulldog House, 2013... www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/the-bulldog-house 12. Black Forest, 2018 www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/black-forest 13. Villa Blanca, 2012 www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/villa-blanca 14. Thirty-Three House, 2014 www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/the-thirty-three-house 15. Vader House, 2014 www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/vader-house From the "Bulldog" perched atop the cul-de-sac, to the innovative design solutions that were developed to overcome tight site constraints at Black Forest, the mystery and subsequent 'reveal' of Villa Blanca, and through to the quirky and bold design statements made by Thirty-Three and Vader house, these homes are each amazing in their own right! 14.01.2022 Lets kick off the week with a recent concept design that weve been working on! The home will be located on an elevated and steep block, with northerly orientation. The glazing takes full advantage of stunning views toward the ocean, with the main living room boasting a double height void. The home is designed to work with the contours and step up the block, which has allowed second floor bedrooms to also enjoy the amazing outlook.... To the western side of the house and with seamless connection to the main open plan living spaces, the generous outdoor living space will feature a pool - ideal for all the post-COVID gatherings with friends and family! #ChaseWonder
14.01.2022 Did you know wine grapes were planted in Tassie in 1823, almost 200 years ago. This predates vineyard plantings in Western Australian, Victoria and South Australian vineyards - in fact, Tasmania supplied the original vines for plantings in South Australia. True story! So we mightve indulged a little bit too much whilst working with Wine Tasmania lately - firstly on their new online shop which launched a few months ago, and now more recently on their brand new (main) website!... If you want to know absolutely anything about Tasmanian wines, meet our growers and makers, learn about the Tasmanian wine market and history, what makes our wines the best... or of course to grab some AMAZING Tasmanian wine for yourself or as a gift, then head through to the Wine Tas website and support local! And it is Friday, so surely its time to wine down #ChaseWonder
14.01.2022 Heres a #SneakPeak of a project that weve been working on recently The home is designed for a young, growing family, and is to be constructed across 2 stages. One of the challenges relating to the site is to maximise views of the Carlton River to the south, whilst still attracting the northern sunlight into the home, and especially the living spaces. This has lead to the concept of two building pavilions (to be constructed as Stage 1 and Stage 2), joined by a small linkw...ay. The separation allowing sunlight to reach into both pavilions, whilst still maximising views. Were really pleased with the direction and how this one is coming together and are excited to continue the journey with our amazing clients! #ChaseWonder

14.01.2022 Along with creating and delivering the branding and marketing for Duchess, our architecture team also assisted our client with the interior design of the townhouses - coming up with 4 different interior styles for the development. Scandi, Black, Industrial and Classic Contemporary - the styles considered, and ultimately selected to resonate with the target market of the development. If you're keen to check them out in person, then be sure to hit up the team at Knight Frank La...unceston! #ChaseWonder Developer: The Baker Group

13.01.2022 Our brand & marketing team had fun working with Ananda, Kate, Tameka and the Key2 Property team recently - firstly collaborating to develop a considered marketing strategy, and secondly developing this brand awareness video, along with accompanying photography. An independent, award-winning, boutique agency, the video along with the tag line "Unlocking the real in real estate" sought to capture Key2's authentic, down-to-earth, and relational approach to both their clients and... their own staff. Give us a hoy if your business or organisation could do with some marketing guidance as we kick off 2021! #ChaseWonder
13.01.2022 "verb" A noun. A word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence. Our web development team are always buzzing with new ideas, solutions to problems, and ideas on how to make things better. So rather than just talk about it, we decided to actually do something about it! ... In recent years we established "Verbb", primarily to design and develop plugins for the Craft CMS global market. What's a plugin you ask? Well in a nutshell, it's a piece of software that adds a feature to an existing website or program. If we've lost you, don't stress, most of our team here at S. have no idea what our developers do either A few months back we released a new plugin called Formie, a forms plugin, and we're super excited that Formie is already performing really well - consistently in the top ten plugins in the Craft plugin store globally! If you're interested to hear more about it, head on over to the Verbb website and have a read of the "Introducing Formie" blog: www.verbb.io/blog/introducing-formie #ChaseWonder
13.01.2022 Along with the campaign video that we shared with you earlier in the week, our brand & marketing team developed a suite of imagery for Key2 Property to use across their print and digital marketing. An independent, award-winning, boutique agency, the imagery along with the tag line "Unlocking the real in real estate" sought to capture Key2's authentic, down-to-earth, and relational approach to both their clients and their own staff. #ChaseWonder
12.01.2022 It didnt quite crack the Top 5, but as voted by our architecture team in 6th spot is the Loveshack - Mornington Peninsula. This project featured in the second series of LoveShack_TV, as we worked closely with Deanne Penberthy Jolly to create this amazing outcome! Situated an hour and a half from Melbourne, this old Mornington Peninsula farmhouse was transformed into a modern, coastal Loveshack. The property contrasts rustic and modern features externally with the use of conc...rete, timber and COLORBOND steel. The coastal aesthetic is continued inside with natural timber and textures, polished concrete floors and exposed beams throughout. The open plan kitchen, living, and dining areas are filled with light and enjoy views of the native garden through the large windows and glass doors. Our archi team created the ideal beach retreat for entertaining, with the inclusion of a pool, al fresco area and multiple entertaining areas. A huge project, delivered under a challenging timeframe, and all whilst the cameras were rolling, made for an unforgettable journey! But hey, dont just take our word for it - if you find yourself sitting around with nothing to do then why not head on through and watch one (or all six) of the episodes from Love Shack Season 2. It even features some cringey C-grade acting by our very own Samuel Haberle! https://youtu.be/Fr7qB7JUZok #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder
12.01.2022 Exciting news over the weekend, with 'Hawley House' being awarded the "Home of the Year" at the 2020 Hia Tasmania Awards! In a top class field of entries Hawley House stood apart, wow-ing the judging panel and taking home the biggest prize of the night, quote: "...stunning contemporary home, harmoniously combining a mix of materials including bricks, cement sheet, copper and colorbond with products sourced from around the world. The striking street appeal, maximisation of ...outlook, north-facing orientation and practical layout was seen as exceptional by the judges. While the level of detail and finish is simply awe-inspiring." A big shout-out goes to the team at Davies Design & Construction, who did a super job on the build. We're really proud of this project and excited for our amazing clients. 11.01.2022 Another winner! Congrats to Vos Construction & Joinery P/L who were recognised at the Master Builders Tasmania 2020 Awards this past weekend, for the Warrawee Amenities Block (Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Trails facilities) From the judging panel:... "This delightfully simple, robust amenities building is very neatly finished, with an attention to detail that belies the limited nature of the project budget and scope. Each of the limited palette of materials has been used and finished appropriately and well, and the challenges overcome of working in a relatively remote area." We had a heap of fun working with the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and Kentish Council on this project, and are really proud to see it receiving this recognition! 11.01.2022 It’s been almost 10 years since S. was birthed back in 2011 which also means that we’re now into our tenth year! Across this time, it has been our absolute privilege to work with some amazing clients in making their ‘house dreams’ come alive. We're driven by a vision to create joy through creating, and we hope that we’ve done exactly that - time and time again! When we put it to our architecture team members a few weeks back to each pick their top 10 S. houses of all time ...(by secret ballot), it was great to see the diversity of homes that were selected. Maybe it was Joshua's favourite project to work on, or the most challenging design brief that Samuel has faced; it could be the home that Tim is most proud of, or maybe it was just an unforgettable journey with some amazing clients for Anupa. Whatever the case, we had a blast taking a trip down memory lane to reflect on some of our favourite architecture projects. So this is us wrapping up the Top Ten, we hope that you enjoyed the journey too! If you were late to the party, or just want to check out the Top Ten all over again, then head on through to the blog post on or website which provides a recap and links to all the projects! www.sgroup.com.au/blog/top-ten #SgroupTopTen #ChaseWonder

10.01.2022 So not one, not two, but three of our projects cleaned up at the Master Builders Tasmania Awards last weekend! Congrats to Vos Construction & Joinery P/L (again!), for 'Avila', in the 'Medium Density Construction' category. The judges had this to say:... "The work includes carefully and well-finished landscaping and an obvious focus, through the form and nature of the development, on the creation of a community vibe. The approach is to be applauded." From working through the initial project development feasibility with Vos Nominees, to development of the branding, architectural master-planning, architectural design and documentation of the townhouses; and then all the way through to developing the marketing strategy, the website, and finally managing the launch to the public - Avila is a project that our entire team here at S. are extremely proud! 10.01.2022 Finding itself in 4th place in our "Top Ten" S. houses of all-time, as voted by our architecture team, is the Paddock House! The journey for this project commenced all the way back in 2012... in the very early days of S. As a contemporary family home, the design brief for this project required connectivity between the main living spaces, office and kids' play area. The balance of flexible public and private spaces became a critical aspect of the design development. In light o...f this, the design responds by separating theses spaces with sheltered, outdoor decks and garden areas that maintain a constant visual connection through the clever use of operable glazing. The use of these external punctures allows integrated, comfortable and functional indoor-outdoor living, sheltering the occupants from the natural elements. Paired with thoughtful and considered programmatic design, the architecture incorporates moody internal tones, whilst the exterior is finished in weathered timbers and charcoal tones to blend the home into the bush landscape. Across almost 10 years of S., the Paddock House consistently pops up as a favourite when we talk to people. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts Now if we can count correctly this would mean that we've revealed 7 out of our Top Ten... so tune in from tomorrow as we reveal our podium finishers! #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder
09.01.2022 Congrats to Andrew, Lily and the team from Palmer's Dance Studio who are up-and-going again following the forced COVID shutdown period... and are now in their new home! 08.01.2022 Were very lucky to be able to do what we do from home, the office, or anywhere else in the world... but nothing beats getting the crew together face-to-face! The S. team recently took to the green at Mowbray Golf Club to enjoy some fresh air, play a round of (very) amateur golf, and have a laugh with each other After being holed up at home for the past few months, we were all well and truly ready to let our hair down and have a fun day together. ... A big thanks to our lovely friends at Mowbray Golf Club for hosting us! #ChaseWonder
08.01.2022 Located in the quaint seaside township of Hawley, this new home enjoys rare absolute beachfront outlook across the waters and to Narawntapu National Park. Replacing an existing not fit for purpose home, this project was conceived with the extended family in mind. The ground floor is perfect for multiple family members whilst retaining a level of privacy for each occupant. The first floor living and master suite take advantage of the epic views and north facing orientation.... The timeless design is contemporary and realises all of our clients ideals. Modern and well appointed, the result is a combination of striking forms tied together by a flying living room roof. Beautifully finished, the brick cladding grounds the dwelling whilst the cement sheet, copper and colorbond are materialised through simple lines and pure forms. Head through to our website to check out more photos of the home, we may even share a few more in the days ahead... www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/hawley-house #ChaseWonder Builder: Davies Design & Construction Interiors: Lydia Maskiell Interiors Photography: anjie blair - photographer
08.01.2022 We always rave about how our clients are really lovely... but these guys are in the running to take the cake. Summerhill Baptist Church originally came to us to discuss updating some of the signage around the church. However it became apparent that their whole brand was in need of an update. These people were not only lovely (like all our clients), but were incredibly welcoming, down-to-earth and had huge hearts... and they deserved a brand that reflected this! We led them th...rough a brand workshop, then wrote a brand strategy, which, in turn, informed our logo design. The entire process was not only important to help our work, but really useful for Summerhill Baptist too, as it gave them the time and space to think about (and articulate) what makes their church so special. The new brand is a big move away from their old logo, and now reflects a church that is warm, authentic and above all, open-hearted. #ChaseWonder
07.01.2022 With services located in suburbs surrounding Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Ulverstone, Discovery Early Learning Centres is Tasmanian family owned and operated. Discovery approached us looking for a basic brochure update, but after noticing a disconnect between their values and their messaging and style, we took them through our brand audit process. They completely agreed that the design of a fresh new brand identity was necessary. Equipped with a new positioning line In th...eir nature, while retaining their philosophy of Imagine, Explore, Discover, the new brand takes its colours from Tasmanias environment. The symbol simultaneously represents growth, community and exploration, along with the individual focus of the services. The new branding is currently rolling out to centres across Tasmania, with their new centres opening entirely with the new brand in place. We have loved guiding the team at Discovery ELC through this exciting process for their organisation! 07.01.2022 After developing the new brand identity for Discovery Early Learning Centres, we have continued to work closely with their team to roll-out and implement the branding across all facets of the organisation. From signage, to print collateral, photography, video, and their new website; it has been critical to ensure that the brand experience is consistent and accurately reflected across all touch points. The website is designed to be easy to navigate and adult-focused rather tha...n childlike (as most childcare sites seem to be) while still retaining warmth, an element of storytelling and communicating Discoverys unique style and professionalism. Behind the scenes, it also has a powerful enrolment system integrated, making new enrolments and updates to existing enrolments much simpler for parents and staff. Its a project that were extremely proud of, head through and check it out for yourself! #ChaseWonder
07.01.2022 2020 is proving to be a challenging and disruptive year on many fronts, however often with disruption comes the opportunity for innovation. Throughout the past 6 months we have thoroughly enjoyed working with Tasmanian businesses - helping them to identify new opportunities, to adapt or pivot, and to come out the other end stronger and more resilient. TC Spec has been one such business. It was exciting to launch their new website recently, after we had worked with their team ...to develop strategies to achieve business growth and to evolve their online presence in these times of economic uncertainty. In their own words: "As a small business we needed a strategy in place to help us grow, especially in this time of economic uncertainty for small businesses in Tasmania. The S. Group team worked closely with us to develop a business strategy for growth and evolved our online presence by designing our new website. Weve already seen new customers walk in the door, our marketing has hit home where it was needed and our business has clear goals that feel attainable now. Our project with S. Group was a fantastic partnership between both of us - of ideas on the table, advice and ownership of what we can be. If you are willing to really open up and be challenged on how you can grow as a business, youll hit the road running and get a head of the pack with the S. Group Team. Thanks for the kind words guys #ChaseWonder

05.01.2022 Alright, lets do this folks... drumroll please... Coming in at number 10, and as voted by our Archi Team, is The Spark House! Completed in 2019, The Spark House is perched above Launceston and adjacent to one of our favourite cottages - Ava, The Spark House holds a bold position overlooking the city.... The context holds significant history and heritage balanced with a number of tasteful contemporary additions and dwellings. 05.01.2022 2021, let's do this! #CreateWonder
05.01.2022 Weve made it onto the home stretch of our Top Ten, and coming in at 5th position is a project that we fondly named St Lukes. Its almost everyones dream to grab an old church and turn it into a dwelling, and man, did we have some fun with this! The church is actually St Andrews Anglican Church, which was constructed in 1879, and as the old saying goes "they dont build buildings like this anymore". It was such an honour to work with our client on this project, and wed invite you to head through to our website to not only check out more photos, but to take a short video tour of the home: www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/st-lukes-2 #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder

We bring you: the Archi Top Ten!... Weve put the vote to our Architecture team to pick their top 10 S. houses of all time. 03.01.2022 Weve got a lot of love for the dads of our S. family Today were celebrating these incredible fathers - and every father! The daggy dads, the golf dads, the dance dads and the cool dads. 01.01.2022 Drum roll please We're excited to announce that the bronze medal in the "Top Ten" S. houses of all time is awarded to the Jinglers Drive House! Working with our wonderful clients from 2016, this airy family home was designed around a sense of connection to the landscape. Large windows in the central spaces give way to panoramic vistas of the rolling hills, creating an area that is bathed in natural light. ... Tasteful, balanced and considered, it's safe to say that we're pretty proud of this one... But it seems that a few others also took a liking to the Jinglers Drive House, as it featured on Open Homes Australia with Designer James Treble last year. So if you're keen to check out some of Samuel Haberle's C-Grade over-acting, then click through here to check it out: https://vimeo.com/357736936 Otherwise, Tim presents the home much more tastefully (in our opinion) via video on our own website: www.sgroup.com.au/portfolio/jinglers-drive So which homes are left to battle it out for Gold and Silver in our Top Ten? Stay tuned as we announce the final two from tomorrow! #SGroupTopTen #ChaseWonder
