25.01.2022 Sally-Anne Russell dancing a special performance for Sunshine Dance Centres 25th Anniversary concert!

23.01.2022 Photos from Cosmic Psychos, The Chats, VOIID at The V Room are now up at Scenestr. Enjoy... http://scenestr.com.au/event/CosmicPsychos-TheVRoom-20180518... I messed up and sent some wrong files so the VOIID shots might not be online yet.

23.01.2022 The office today...

22.01.2022 Another fantastic Axesounds Bookings show at The Back Room Brisbane last week (Feb17). Again, Steve made it sound amazing and Malcolm lit it up beautifully, as always. And yet again, I discovered another awesome band from my own backyard, No Intelligent Life. These Sunshine Coast bands keep popping up at Brisbane shows as the lack of venues on the coast limits their exposure at home. Anyway, heres a selection of shots from the night. More to be found on the individual band p...ages as they add them. Thanks again to Axelle Dee for making the show happen and for once again inviting me along. And a huge thanks to the bands who performed... No Intelligent Life - N.I.L, Loud Goes Bang, Gatzilla, Shitbox, The dangerous folk, Antechinus, Moose knuckle, The Disgruntled Taxpayers and Blend Roll on March 17 for the next Axsounds show at The Back Room

20.01.2022 Would you like to see a few snaps of Prophets of Rage and Dead Letter Circus that I took last night at The Tivoli Brisbane? What an awesome show it was! I had ...some reservations about there being no Zach but Chuck D, B-Real and DJ Lord filled his shoes. Of course Morello, Commerford and Wilk sounded every bit RATM. For those who werent there, the show started with DJ Lord doing that stuff on decks. Then the set was broken into three, first part being RATM, then Public Enemy/Cypress Hill songs and finally more RATM and an Audioslave number, Tom Morello paying a heartfelt tribute to Chris Cornell. Morello also told the crowd that this show was both the smallest theyve played to on this tour and also THE BEST! Anyway, head on over to Scenestr. for a look-see...

20.01.2022 Marc was very fortunate to be the guest of the amazing MC50 at their recent Brisbane Entertainment Centre show. They supported Alice Cooper (yes, therell be some photos of the Alice Cooper show shortly) and Marc not only got to shoot their set, he was also welcomed back to the band room to meet them, one of whom he has known for some years now. MC50 represent the 50th anniversary of the original band MC5, famous for their 1969 hit, Kick Out The Jams. They have been credited as a major influence for many rock, punk, and grunge bands who have followed over the five decades since. The current format includes founding member Wayne Kramer, supported by Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Bill Gould (Faith No More), Kym Thayil (Soundgarden), and Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla). Here is a small selection of images Marc shot of their set. Enjoy...

15.01.2022 TYM061 OUT NOW. Polarised by the politics and conservatism of this time, Brisbane gave birth to some of the worlds most influential punk, post-punk, and counte...rculture bands. Return to White Chairs V2 celebrates this time, the music, and the many people that lived, loved and played in that scene. After the measured success of the 2012 Return To White Chairs V1, V2 was never going to be anything but amazing. From the outset, it was realised that this was going to be a huge event. The venue, the production, and the lineup was curated to present a once in a lifetime show to be enjoyed by the fans and the artists alike. It was also recognised that the likelihood of putting together a show like this again was slim at best so it was decided that it must be preserved for posterity. With the help of some of this countrys finest engineers, Tym Records now proudly presents a very special chronicle of this show and a very important slice of Brisbane music history. Return To White Chairs V2 featured one of the eras earliest punk legends RAZAR, reforming again after their notorious tenth anniversary reunion show almost thirty years ago. A massive support lineup included other recognised names from back in the day; The Toy Watches, The Horny Toads, Scrap Metal, Public Execution, The 5 Hanks, Vacant Rooms, The Cultured Few, and The Chrysalids, all playing genres encompassing punk, new wave, rockabilly, power indie pop, and good ol rock and roll. More recent combinations of players from the era are found in Dr Bombay, The Dangerous Folk, and The Bollocks, who represent indie rock, Celtic punk, and pure punk rock. This was a huge day and night of talent, nostalgia, and fun. Return To White Chairs V2 is available from 14 October in very limited, numbered vinyl from Tym Records, selected stockists, or via the Return To White Chairs website. All album purchases will include a free digital download of the album, including bonus tracks, so you can immediately enjoy the show on your mobile device. http://returntowhitechairs.com https://www.facebook.com/ReturnToWhiteChairs https://tymguitars.com.au//tymrecords061returntowhitechair

07.01.2022 Well hello 2017! Stuff has happened over the past month or so and were back into the swing of things for the new year. Again, so very lucky to see some great bands at The Back Room Brisbane on 14 January, a great lineup put together by Axesounds Bookings Its always fabulous to see local bands ("local" being everywhere from the Gold Coast to Gympie in this case!) being supported by promoters and venues too. The show was well run, if not a bit poorly attended (which I put d...own to the stifling heat that day), great sound and great lighting. Here are a few shots from the show. You might see much more at the individual band pages. Postcard President, Blend, Commonside, Tokyo Beef, Valhalla Lights, Gatzilla, LOCUS

05.01.2022 Yes, weve been quiet for a while. Why?... well, busy! I thought Id share a recent show and it was only when I opened this page that I realised wed not had much to say for months. Wow, whered that time get to? So, some photos from Axesounds Bookings show last Friday night at The Back Room Brisbane now up on Scenestr. Another awesome show, as always.... Burning Virtues, Commonside, The Blockades, Gatzilla, Weezal, Serial Killer Dinner Party Go and check them out! http://scenestr.com.au/e/WeAreDisgruntled-BackRoom-20170714

04.01.2022 It was great to cover Sunshine Coast band Illicit Symphonys album launch at The Triffid last Sunday night. Support was also a Sunshine Coast band, BannedFTC. Great venue, great bands! http://scenestr.com.au//illicit-symphony-brisbane-review-t

02.01.2022 UPDATED: new photos added to the gallery! Darkcell returned last Friday night (21 December 2018) to the Solbar, Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast and they play...ed one hell of a show to finish the year off. Supporting them at this show/date was local Sunshine Coast heavy bands Plague The City, Spewn and Black Banner. Black Banner opened the show playing their own brand of old school thrash metal which was good to hear. Then Spewn played their own style of heavy music with a twist. Frontman and keyboardist, Matt Rice was funny and you have to see this band play next time they are on as they are very entertaining. Main support, Plague The City warmed the crowd up playing their style of heavy metal. Huddo and the boys had everyone going hard. Then the headliner, Darkcell ended off the night playing their own style of industrial Metal playing a great set with a good mix of old and new songs and leaving fans wanting more. The boys sounded and played so great last night. If you werent there you missed out. The Christmas holidays were started off heavy with this gig and everyone that was at it last night had a great time and it was so good to see Sunshine Coast metal fans out and about and having a great time. It was good to catch up with some friends and have a few drinks with them. Thanks to Marc Austin-Zande of Shadowplay Photography for coming and taking photos at this show of all the bands that played at it. Check out some of the photos here on this post. Leave a comment on this post if you attended the show and let us know what you thought about it. Hael.

02.01.2022 Well, theres another TURN UP done and, well, almost dusted. Thanks again to the team, Eloise, Andrea, Katey, and David for welcoming me back. Its a slog but i...ts well worth it! Thanks also to Melissa for looking after me at my most needy moment Great to catch up with all these amazing people, to chat and conspire! Tony and Stuart, you have my undying admiration for the work you both do and its always a privilege and a pleasure to share a few words. FINALLY got to meet Neige, my favourite ever Dicklord! Chatted with my other favourite bassist, Kellie. Caught up with Sheryl and Matt, had a quick chat with Kevin Borich... so many people! Enjoyed a brief and all too rare chat with a guy who I also have a great deal of respect for, Howard... and its actually a little over 23 years weve known each other Howard, but 25 does sound better But WOW... I met and had a far too brief chat with a couple of industry legends, Michael Chugg and Howard Freeman. Their stories at the conference were amazing! For those of you who um and ah about attending this conference, just do it! Aside from the simple entertainment and the educational value, the industry networking is worth far more than the ticket price! Heres to Tun UP! 2020 Photos to follow... soon... including selfies with legends! I mean to say, Im getting on and I dont want these guys to miss out :D

02.01.2022 For many years, we were regular contributors to Australian Rallysport News, back in the days of ink-on-paper publication. Almost every month we contributed photos, and sometimes articles, to this long-running motorsport magazine. Times have changed and we dont shoot a lot of cars nowadays but when we do, we do it with the same passion we deliver to any of our shoots. Our friends at Power Curve Performance asked us to take a few special shots of a project theyed just comple...ted for a client and, after one look at the subject, this old ex-Torana owner couldnt resist. The brief was quite specific and we delivered exactly what they asked of us. So while you are used to us publishing our live performance shots of bands and dancers, heres the other side of our "performance" coin. If youd like some amazing shots of your pride and joy, contact us for a chat.
