22.01.2022 "It feels so good to unleash our 2021 in-school season our 16th year of #shaketouring - into schools across Australia. Although none of us can know for sure what lies around the corner - we remain optimistic and with full-hearted hope. What we do know for certain is that together with our valued teachers (and students), we will be approaching the new year of learning and engagement with an invigorated resilience and finely-tuned ability to adapt. Having access to high-qu...ality, live entertainment not only assists young people with their academic education - it shapes them as thinking, feeling human beings. When adversity strikes, humans turn to the arts for comfort. The arts cocoon us. They engage, challenge and enlighten us. We look forward to sharing our art and a happy and healthy 2021 with you. Thank you for your support throughout this year from the bottom of our hearts." 19.01.2022 #shakeSECRET In the 2017 season of Green Days American Idiot AU, this flying sequence was achieved by two mechanists literally pulling the strings side stage. In 2018, it was taken to new heights and the flying rig was automated. This automation system, by the good folk at Theatre Safe Australia, was toured by our extraordinary technical team for 6 months across Australia.... Stay tuned for more #shaketouring secrets every #FBF. Rowena Rasmussen as Extraordinary Girl (2017) Dylan Evans Photography

05.01.2022 #FBF Last year we delivered our largest In-Residency to date. 175 Grade 7 Brisbane Boys' College (BBC) gentlemen, a team of shake & stir instructors and 5 full days of workshops and rehearsals. The result? An electric Shakespeare performance of epic proportions. Next week we do it all over again - and we cant wait! It was nothing short of excellent. 200 Year 7 boys were fully immersed in the works of Shakespeare for a whole week culminating in a sensational performan...ce with lights, music and action which was received with absolute joy by the audience. shake & stir provided a program which was relevant to the boys with energy, passion and a dynamic outcome that was simply outstanding. Our Year 7s learned so much during the week far exceeding expectations. Besides developing confidence in performing, they are now well set in their understanding of a literary giant which will stand them in great stead for their future schooling.
