12.01.2022 Yesterday Shalom Open and Intermediate Cricket teams played Matthew Flinders from the Sunshine Coast in T20 Cricket. Due to Covid, the State Schools knock-out comp, run by Qld Cricket, did not go ahead, however Qld Cricket organised the Wide Bay winners (Shalom) to played against the Sunshine Coast winners. In the Open T20 game, Flinders won the toss and made 5/146 in 20 overs (one of their batsman made 102). Shalom’s best bowler was Aaron Cunnington with 2/29. In reply, Sh...alom made 5/149 in 17.2 overs with Matt Jackson finishing on 98 no and Brendan Grills making 24. A great run chase in very hot conditions. After lunch, a T10 game was played (for something a little different and fun) and again Flinders batted first, making 4/110. Shalom used 9 bowlers with wickets to Jack Gray, Ronan Dempsey and two to Harry Johnson. In reply, Shalom changed the order so that everyone could have a bat for the day, and finished at 3/63. Matt Parker made 25 and Aaron Cunnington 20. In the Intermediate game, Shalom batted first making 7/95. River Felstead made 40 and Ollie Boge 20. In reply, Flinders finished at 2/100 in the 14th over. Recently named Qld Rep, Lucy Hamilton finished with both wickets. In the T10 game, Matthew Flinders batted first, compiling a very competitive 7/84 in their 10 overs. Wicket-takers for Shalom were Lucy Hamilton, Kodee Pole, Beau Marshman, Simon Millett, Toby Lamond, Patrick Marshman and Riley Quinn. Shalom chased hard and batted very well, finishing at 4/88. Ned Jenner making 47no and Toby Lamond making 20no. Thanks to the staff looking after the teams Vince Habermann, David Bond, Jordan Condon and Blake Hornbrook See more
