22.01.2022 MORE FLIGHTS BEING SCHEDULED (11 A WEEK) The community have asked for more flights and more options when it comes to flight times, so it’s great to see our main airline listening and delivering on this. Beginning next week, there will now be 11 services for the Perth to Geraldton route, with options for both morning and afternoon flights. ... In August this year, the City was lobbying for more flights with only three scheduled flights available at the time. Since then, the flight schedule has gradually increased. I now encourage the community to use flight services where possible to ensure the viability and continuation of the increased schedule.

17.01.2022 WASTE AUDIT SHOWS GERALDTON HAS HIGHEST DOMESTIC WASTE PER CAPITA IN WA We are in the throes of reviewing the way we can reduce waste going to landfill and one key finding is that Geraldton deposits 1,160kg of residential waste per capita per annum, against a state average of 630kg and versus Albany at 365kg and Busselton 441kg. (This includes domestic recycling bins) So either we generate much more waste than everywhere else or we are having commercial operators claiming domestic tariffs. (free tipping)

17.01.2022 We certainly need to make heavy traffic through and around our City safer and more efficient, but we also need transparency as to the impacts the proposed alignment will have on the environment, local landowners, businesses and our water supply. How can we make proper submissions if we don't have the facts upon which this proposal is based?

07.01.2022 So today Darren West MLC has been on social media telling people the real reason for the bypass around Geraldton is so 60m vehicles avoid travelling through Wandina and town. Just when I thought this was about lengthening trucks to triple roadtrains he is saying they will be quad road trains. How you all feel about driving to Perth with that idea?
