25.01.2022 / AUCTIONS / As the V8 Supercars head to Bathurst this month, some of Australia’s most desirable Muscle Cars are gridding up for Shannons Spring Online Auction from November 11-18. Top of the tree amongst them is a stunning Dynasty Gold metallic 1977 Holden LX Torana SLR 5000 A9X four-door sedan the surviving example of just two examples factory-built in this distinctive colour and the only one with its paint/two-tone tan vinyl trim interior combination.



24.01.2022 / AUCTIONS / A beautifully-restored circa 1932 chain driven Frazer Nash Ulster two-seater is one of the highlight vehicles of Shannons Timed Online Spring Auction from November 11-18. Coming to auction with an interesting and well-documented period racing history, chassis number 2059 was originally supplied to the Allington Brothers of London as a bare chassis for Australian Douglas Fraser Shepherd in July 1932.

23.01.2022 / NEWS / More and more small independent brands are popping up and demanding a slice of the super and hypercar markets and now there is a new English contender, Naran Automotive. Not wanting to muck about, this small upstart performance brand has already set about detailing its first-ever model and there is no denying it, on paper it looks to be a weapon. Officially dubbed the Naran full name the Naran Automotive Naran this new British four-seat ‘hyper-coupe’ is said to be capable of going from 0-100km/h in 2.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of more than 370km/h.

22.01.2022 / AUCTIONS / There are seven great BMW sports models in Shannons upcoming Spring Timed Online Auction on November 11-18 the last auction to finish the 2020 calendar year. The most potent of these is a very desirable manual gearbox 2002 BMW E46 M3 Coupe collectible as the last of the classic in-line six M3s. Finished in the unusual factory shade of Phoenix Gold with contrasting black Alcantara and cloth trim, the M3 has the preferred six-speed manual gearbox, with its options including a factory-fitted sunroof, electric memory seats and Fuchs 19-inch rims.

19.01.2022 / NEWS / Few people these days would associate the Maserati brand with producing all-out supercars like their Italian counterparts Ferrari and Lamborghini dedicated supercar specialists. In fact there have only been three mid-engine Maserati models before now, those being the Bora, Merak and Ferrari Enzo-based MC12. But at Shannons upcoming Spring Timed Online Auction from 11-18 November, Lot No 18, this 1.6 metre long Austin J40 pedal car, could easily bring $3,000 or more, as restored examples have sold to young-at-heart Australian enthusiasts for nearly $10,000.

18.01.2022 / Classic Restos / In the latest episode Fletch heads to Central West at Molong, visiting truck enthusiast Andy Mckenzie and his collection of fully restored trucks from the 60s and 70s. Impressive trucks include a 1978 Dodge D5N 700 Detroit with a 10-speed Road Ranger transmission and a 1968 Ford F8000 with a 180 Cummings engine, both beautifully restored. Fletch also meets Craig, owner of the neatest car and parts collection he has ever seen. Craig was once a Holden man and Brock fan only, his vehicles have diversified now to include Chrysler, Dodge, and Fords and purely based on styling and looks that appealed to him. 17.01.2022 / Classic Restos / Fletch travels to Lockhart in NSW and the Green's Gunyah Museum. Opened in 1970 the Museum captures the history of the region including including an array of farming machinery from what was a very productive sheep district in its day. At the museum we meet local 'Antique Pete', and take a tour of some of the notable vehicles on display, including a T Model Ford, 1938 W30 International, 1927 Hart-Parr Tractor and a 1922 Garford Fire Truck. 12.01.2022 The Shannons Club was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Australian racing great John Harvey after succumbing to lung cancer. He was 82. One of motor racing’s true gentlemen and finest ambassadors, Harvey is perhaps best known as Peter Brock’s loyal deputy at the Holden Dealer Team during the factory squad’s halcyon days in the 1970s and 1980s. However, his remarkable career achievements before and after that famous era have tended to be under-appreciated. This brings to 37 the number of classic and collectible motorcycles and scooters out of the total of 176 lots on offer. The standout of the ‘Dukes’ on offer is a 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR limited edition road-going replica of its then current MotoGP machine.

We say ‘almost’ because it is taking its sweet time and Nissan still hasn’t released anything concrete about the new Z apart from the fact it will have a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 pinched from Infiniti paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Even the design has a few question marks hovering about because again, Nissan has not actually revealed the finished product, rather a very well evolved prototype. That prototype is the Z Proto, a stylish, very yellow nod both to the past and future of the iconic Z lineage.

The Mustang was specially prepared for Scott McLaughlin to drive at the Superloop Adelaide 500, the first round of the 2019 Supercars season which saw Mustang make its debut as a Supercar. The cu...stom modifications by Ford legend Rob Herrod for McLaughlin’s Ford Speed Comparison included special Ford Performance/Mustang exterior graphics, specially-painted alloys, a half-roll cage, a four-point racing harness, a rear-seat delete kit, ARP front and rear wheel hubs with ARP studs, a fire extinguisher and a factory spoiler. 05.01.2022 / Classic Restos / Fletch's journey across NSW continues with a visit to Parkes, home to the landmark CSIRO Radio Telescope nicknamed The Dish. Fletch meets with members of the Central West Car Club and their prized possessions. First up is Scott with his 1978 HZ Holden Monaro GTS, a beautifully presented model in original condition, sporting a 308 5.0 Litre V8, radial tuned suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. Next is Jeff with a 1970 VG Valiant 2 door coupe, it's not your standard Valiant colour, Jeff's is Jindabyne Mauve. Fletch also meets our very own Regional Development Officer, Jo Flemming.
