25.01.2022 Well I truly am in shock - those of you that know me personally know I'm very modest about my riding success and HATE to talk myself up so I am extremely humbled to be awarded the 2017 Equestrian Victoria Dressage Rider Of The Year. So many thank you's but the first one is a very very important one my HORSES without these amazing animals I would be nowhere they are my dancing partners that I just couldn't live without. I am blessed to ride/ or have ridden these horses. My next thank you is a very special one that's very close to my heart - Ambassi, you my dear friend gave me the world, more opportunities, wins, champions, experiences and the chance to once again dance around the Grand Prix tests then any other horse I've ever ridden and I certainly wouldn't be the rider I am today without him. My next thank you is to my mentors the biggest one of all is Mary Hanna - I've been coached by Mary since I was 10 years old, she has shaped me into the rider, coach, horsewoman and business manager that I am today. I cannot thank her enough and I cherish every moment I spent in her stables. Deborah MacNicol - you have been the best life coach a girl could ask for, you've been there to pick up the pieces more times then I can count, many tears and many many many happy times. You've always pointed me in the right direction in every situation. My clients, past and present that have given me the opportunity to get these results with their beautiful horses. I look out to my paddocks today and I see not one horse I don't enjoy riding! That's pretty special! 24.01.2022 Well that concludes a fabulous 6 weeks of competitions ! Extremely proud of my boys Last Saturday we headed to VDC competition at Werribee for a well run and friendly competiton as always ! Free Cloud continued his extremely impressive start to Advanced with a win in the 5.2 and a PB at this level of 68% and another win in our first ( and possibly last, what a horrible test!) Attempt at the 5.3 with 65.9%. This big boy has come a really long way, I was over the moon just... to get to the point where I can confidently canter down the centreline of an Advanced test but to be as successful as his been at all 3 starts he's come away with a win has blown me away, just when I think he's given all he can give we find a whole new set of gears ! Sky's the limit . A massive thank you to Yulis owner Nerada Brand for giving me such an amazing opportunity, what ever the future brings with this horse I'm so grateful for the success we've been able to have. Sunday we headed to WPVDC competiton at Yarrambat, I LOVE these competitons, friendly vibe, great venue, super prizes and sponsors ! HUGE thank you to the organisers/ Volunteers who make this comp possible and Hygain Feeds Rebecca Cartwrightfor their extremely generous Sponsorship of the series. My superstar Jaybee Ali headed out again and was amazing as always In the Medium classes. We produced 2 lovely tests , another 70% from judge at C and the championship win what more could I ask for ?? This horse makes my heart so full and i will never have to part with him which makes this journey just so special. The icing on the cake was nailing 5 X 4 tempi changes and 5 X 3 tempi changes today . Myself and the boys will take July off from competitons ( Don't worry we will still be SUPER busy) so I can focus a bit more energy on the young horses preparing for their first starts ( now these are some seriously exciting horses !! 22.01.2022 We have been so busy over the last few months here at Shanon Mckimmie Dressage. Our facilities are nearing completion and we couldn't be happier with how the property is coming along! We have one spot becoming available for training coming up at the end of May/start of June. Please PM me for prices and availabilities. 20.01.2022 Well it's been a busy few months we've had at Shanon Mckimmie Dressage but WOW I'm proud of my super bunch of horses. 16 starts, 4 different horses, 5 different levels consecutively over the past 3 months. 14 of those tests are WINS on all 4 horses and 2 2nd places. Can't complain about those odds hey?! Hollands Bend Rococo continues her consistent winning spree in Novice. ... Jaybee Ali won both his medium starts with ease. Kenlock Indian Sky has hit the ground running in his first month at FEI with a WIN in only his second start. And Boo Hill Bond 24, the pony of the team, beating the horses on debut in medium and in Elementary. Thank you to my fabulous team of owners for the support and opportunities, Chris Davie , Jane Bartram and Angela Kendall. Although Equestrian is not a team sport I'd be nowhere without the support crew I have around me in my amazing parents, my super groom Brandon Farrugia and my partner Josh Davis. 14.01.2022 Shanon Mckimmie Dressage is searching for the perfect groom/working student to join us on our stunning property in Kyneton. Roughly 20 or more hours a week ( Monday - Friday possibly some weekend work). Paid position with option of lessons/ arena use. Must be; Motivated ... Hard working Excellent attention to detail ( I am OCD). Confident with large horses and stallions ( all of which are beautifully behaved). Work well unsupervised. Trustworthy. Experience in a performance stables is a great bonus but not essential. Daily jobs will entail; Feeding. Stable cleaning. Paddock cleaning. Tack cleaning. Tacking and untacking horses. 02.01.2022 Wanted for immediate start Groom/ stable hand Available to work 3-4hrs 5 days a week including some weekend work. Tasks include: Stable cleaning to the highest standards! ... Water buckets/hay bags filled. Sweeping ( and lots of it!). Topping up stables as required with fresh bedding. Bring in/ turning out and feeding 6 well behaved mares/geldings and 2 at times spirited stallions. Must be: Reliable Hard working and efficient ! Able to handle large warmbloods and spirited stallions. Able to work on their own with instructions TRUSTWORTHY. Grooming experience would be a bonus as some competition grooming may be required. 01.01.2022 *FOLLOWERS FROM LARA, GEELONG AND SURROUNDING AREAS* For those of you that are unaware I travel to Lara once a month for clinics to keep my regular clients in that area ticking along nicely. The next clinic dates are as followed:... Sunday the 23rd of April. Saturday the 20th of May. Saturday the 10th of June.
