23.01.2022 Freshly Cerekoted and baked. Just waiting to cool, be packed and shipped to some happy customers

23.01.2022 The satisfying moment when you prepare the shipping of a suppressor to a new owner. Farmers and Contractors are getting permits for good reasons, hopefully we will see a day when the recreational market can also benefit from these critical safety devices.

21.01.2022 For our QLD followers

19.01.2022 We were recently presented with a M14 by a customer. After custom fitting to the stock, pinning the stock, cutting barrel to 18" and threading, correcting magazine fitment, fitting Shawmac muzzle brake and a suppressor and supplying a muzzle adaptor its now time for testing. Nearly ready to be returned to its owner

18.01.2022 Todays progress on the continued assault on the Firearm Industry......... Commonwealth Bank has just refused us their merchant services because we are in the firearm industry. Can you believe it, the CBA can prejudice a licensed, insured and registered Company all because they dont want to be associated with the Firearm Industry.... Very dissapointed. Previously we have also been excluded from Square for the same reason.

18.01.2022 One happy Wilcannia farmer Recently obtained their silencer permit to protect the hearing of themselves and their working dogs

15.01.2022 This morning doing some testing on a 7mm08. Very happy with performance. Huge reduction in recoil, pressure blast to the face completely removed and suppression on par with a high velocity 22lr. Great results for an Australian based company making Australian products from Australian sourced materials.

14.01.2022 We have just spoken with a journalist from 'The Weekly Times', a very pleasant lady to speak with who appears to be well versed on the matter. From our discussions it would appear to be a widespread issue with reported examples of major banks cancelling services to those within or associated with the Firearm Industry. The Weekly Times will apparently run a story straight away on this highlighting the prejudice in the decision.... Yesterday it was merchant facilities but where does it stop, will tomorrow bring bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages, etc? Is there a bigger issue behind the scenes, for example; cripple the industry by removing financial services? To or end we find it deeply offensive that a service provider is allowed to discriminate against us because we are a licensed, insured and registered company that just happens to be involved in an industry where every participant is individually vetted to be arguably the safest and best characters within our community. Could you imagine the outcry if someone was denied a service because the colour of their skin........ WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

11.01.2022 Almost ready for shipping. Going to NSW and Vic.

10.01.2022 Steve is a close friend to the Shawmac Team and as always is doing everything he can to push sensible outcomes for shooters. As Steve has rightfully pointed out suppressors are a safety device and they are not used by criminals. One can only imagine the uproar if people from other industries had to experience the struggles to protect themselves against serious safety risks as recreational shooters do to protect their hearing To Steve our friend, great work as always mate. Thankyou. The Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party is by far the best organisation to support shooters, we encourage people to support them.

09.01.2022 A bit of 9.3x62 sighting. Hard hitting

08.01.2022 Muzzle Threads.... How many are there and what are some of the problems we face? We see a huge variety of muzzle threads along with many inherent problems from wrong pitch, tapered threads, badly cut, not being centered to the bore and so much more. Poorly cut threads cause the use of suppressors significant issues and are a constant headache for us. Threads cut with and without shoulders also hugely vary along with the use of full or partial profile cutting. ... In addition to the proper cutting of a muzzle thread is the challenge of the variety of threads being used. To give some insight here are some we have recently been requested to provide: 1/2x28, 1/2x20, 14x1, 14x1.25, 13.5x1 left hand, 9/16x24, 9/16x18, 5/8x24, 16x1, 16x1.25, 18x1, 3/4x24, 3/4x28, 16x1.5 Whilst we always strive to meet our customers requests suppressor fitting can be a real challenge at times. Bottom line..... If you are looking to order a suppressor and need your barrel threaded please consult with us first.

08.01.2022 SAFEWORK NSW APPROVES SAFETY REBATE FOR SUPPRESSOR Well it is official.... The NSW Government Regulator for Safety in NSW considers firearm suppressors as a safety item. The Shawmac Team has successfully supported an application for a $500 safety equipment rebate being facilitated by SafeWork NSW ... The most significant outcome here is that the peak safety agency for the NSW Government recognises the seriousness of hearing loss for firearms users and now recognises a firearm suppressor as a safety device. For most shooters this is plain logic, however for lawmakers, regulators, politicians, left wing ideologists and many more firearm suppressors are frowned upon and incorrectly viewed as some sort of criminal tool of choice. SafeWork NSW advises that there are three more applicants who recently purchased suppressors from Shawmac Industries Australia also claiming the rebate. So how can someone claim the rebate. Here are the steps that were required in this instance: 1. Visit the SafeWork NSW Webpage rebate page: (https://www.safework.nsw.gov.au//re/small-business-rebates). 2. Participate with a Safework NSW Safety Seminar (online or in person). Once you have completed this you will be given a certificate number 3. Fill in a claim form for the rebate. 4. Submit the claim form along with your certificate number, a copy of your suppressor permit, a Statutory Declaration that you use it for work and your receipt of purchase for the suppressor. 5. Wait for SafeWork to assess your application and approve the rebate. Whilst this rebate applies to people in workplace environments we hope and firmly believe that all shooters should be able protect themselves from the unnecessarily harsh and extremely damaging risk of firearm discharge noise levels regardless if the use is for work or recreation. Previously regulators have argued that firearm suppressors are not a safety item and they are not required by firearm owners. Hopefully with one part of the NSW Government now supporting a very different view on suppressors shooters might now be able to access these important safety items.
