22.01.2022 Saturday 26 August P&C Dinner Dance (tickets available at the school office) - A night of fun and frivolity for parents! To be held at Kenna Hall, tables of eight, includes a delicious two-course meal, BYO, and fantastic music by ‘Trouble with Johnny’. Limited to 200 guests, so don’t wait too long. Tickets selling fast!

21.01.2022 Welcome to all new parents! All parents and carers are automatically members of the P&C, no need for joining applications! Our meetings are held twice a term, at 6pm on Wednesday of week 3 and week 7 each term in the Bistro Room at Kellys Hotel. Our first meeting for 2018 is next week, 6pm Wednesday 14 February 2018 (at Kellys Hotel in the Bistro Room).... We will be discussing funding Paul Dillon to speak to students and parents about drugs and alcohol, funding for teacher grants, general student and staff wellbeing initiatives and our trivia night to be held later in the year.

18.01.2022 Traffic Issues on Anson Street The School Executive and P&C reps will be holding a further meeting with the RMS toward the end of August to work out a solution so Sheahan students can cross Anson Street safely. If we don’t reach a successful resolution, we will be taking the matter to the Minister for Roads, because Sheahan parents believe it’s not acceptable that at a school the size of James Sheahan, and with the number of students crossing each day, their children cannot cross Anson Street safely. We will keep you informed!

16.01.2022 Good morning to all our lovely JSCHS families. The ceremony of the Passion of Our Lord will be live-streamed on the parish Facebook page (Catholic Parish of St Mary & St Joseph, Orange NSW) at 3pm today. We encourage you to plan ahead and set this time aside today to view the ceremony with your family on the main family TV. Good Friday is a day of reflection and fasting in the Catholic tradition - we reflect on the messages of humility, sacrifice and salvation that played out on the day of Jesus's crucifiction. If anyone is losing the plot in the present COVID world and needs a helping hand, the parish has a support service available...please send an email to Orange Gday [email protected]. This could include delivering groceries or prescriptions, a daily phone call or a chat over the fence to prevent feelings of isolation. Please feel free to add comments to rhis page with any suggestions for assistance.

13.01.2022 Happy 2020 to all our great JSCHS families. WEDNESDAY : All students in Years 7, 11 & 12 are back to school.. 8.38am start. New students in 8, 9 & 10 also attend until 10.15am for orientation... parents to organise pickup at 10.15 please.... ALSO....Year 7 Parent Welcome Morning Tea, 8.30am, upstairs in the Staff Common Room...stay for 15 mins or an hour... can't wait to meet you all! THURSDAY: all students return to school. Reminder that lots of pre-loved uniform items in good condition are available at bargain prices on the Sustainable School Shop website (an independent selling/ buying platform) and in the uniform shop adjacent to the school canteen (the canteen staff can assist you except during morning tea & lunch breaks).

07.01.2022 Can anyone provide assistance to Stacey? On Tuesday at school my son’s bag with his school shoes in it went missing A good search and an announcement over PA system has failed to locate the items. ... The items are: grey Billabong Backpack -new , Lynx school shoes size 9 and orthotic inner soles. Any help would be appreciated and messages passed onto Stacey :)

06.01.2022 Traffic Issues on Anson Street please talk to your kids about crossing Anson Street safely and if you are aware of any incidents when crossing the road, at any time during your family’s association with James Sheahan, please inform Maria in the school office. We met with our State MP, Mr Phil Donato, on Wednesday 17 May to request some form of crossing for our students on Anson Street. Mr Donato will be pursuing our cause with the RMS - we will keep you informed of any progress!

04.01.2022 Teacher Grants The P&C has, for a number of years, given $500 grants for various projects designed by teachers. Last year we gave out four grants for projects around the school, to assist with boys education, peer support, dragon boating and house groups. A number of applications have been received from teachers this year. We will be announcing our recipients in the next newsletter.
