23.01.2022 Some photos from ‘Art in the Park’ yesterday as part of NAFA hosted by Townsville City Council. There are 2 more weekends to go of this program and it’s held across three community centres - Riverside, Heatley and Oonoonba. So get on down and support the Townsville arts community.

Don’t forget to renew your membership by heading to www.shed3.com.au/membership-2 Open Training is now 2 nights a week and will run all year instead of by the term so that’s more time to enjoy our wonderful space. 17.01.2022 On Saturday this group moved enough plastic lids to fill a shipping container and then some. We are super excited to announce we’re partnering with Lids 4 Kids to save plastic lids from landfill. We’ve got a steering committee meeting this week to plan what we’re going to do with them. Exciting times!

12.01.2022 Oasis Art Xmas Party earlier this week went off. Secret Santa, yummy food and lots of tile breaking of course. We’ll be back on 12 January to keep working on our artworks.

12.01.2022 We are super excited to share some amazing news. We were recently successful in obtaining a grant through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund to purchase a new car. Today we picked up our gorgeous new Ute from Parry NQ. A huge thanks to Royce who helped us get a great deal and still get all the trimmings.

09.01.2022 Palm Creek Folk Festival is going ahead this year at a new site with smaller numbers due to COVID. But we’re excited to say we’ll still be running the Stp Box and Kids Festival. 06.01.2022 The final night at the NQ Young Artist Camp and we’re playing pool and eating lollies to celebrate a great week and an awesome show to fight. We’ve been so busy teaching and creating that we’ve missed keeping you all up to date this week. But we can promise there are videos and photos on their way

06.01.2022 Loaded up and heading off to Charters Towers to deliver the inaugural NQ Young Artist Camp. Young people are coming from Ingham, Burdekin, Townsville and Charters Towers to participate in 4 days of workshops culminating in a performance. Participants will learn skills in Circus, Dance, Drama, Songwriting, Technical Production and Visual Arts with arts professionals. We’ll keep you updated over the next 4 days

05.01.2022 Tonight we launched ‘The Crystal Room’ in memory of a young woman who was a big part of our art program. Today is the 9th anniversary of her passing away and we were able to remember her with a very special candle lighting ceremony. Thanks so much to everyone who helped make this space possible...I am so grateful Now let’s get young people accessing this space and finding themselves through art

04.01.2022 We are starting to do our 2021 planning and would like to hear from you about workshops you'd like to see us offer in Circus, Visual Art or Music. We are also taking registrations for volunteers for all aspects of our operations. And if you have any Marketing skills and some free time we're keen to hear from you as a Marketing Strategy is our next job on the list.

04.01.2022 This is the mural we created with the year 6 students at Townsville South State School students over the last couple of weeks. They did a splendid job! Thanks to Bianca and Rachel for sharing your skills and knowledge with these guys. What a lovely legacy they will be leaving for future students.
