25.01.2022 How your horse stands can be a useful indicator of their hoof comfort. Horses with uncomfortable hooves will often avoid standing squarely. Frequent, regular trimming can help to keep hooves balanced and comfortable. My mare Blue (pictured) is trimmed every two weeks and she often stands like this, even when eating.
24.01.2022 A healthy hind hoof with a tight hoof wall connection and good solar concavity.
14.01.2022 Jazz is a 27 year old Arab gelding I have been trimming for nearly two years now. He has the most amazing digital cushions.
10.01.2022 This is a photo of my mare's hooves which are due for trim this week. She is on a two weekly schedule. Many people would not consider these feet due for trim, but I can see from this photo that the balance is starting to deteriorate, the outer hoof wall is starting to make ground contact and the quarters are starting to push up. More importantly what you can't see, her frogs and heels are likely also starting to become overgrown, which can have a big impact on comfort and m...ovement. There are very few horses I meet that would not benefit from more regular trims.
