25.01.2022 It's been a busy week with Acupuncture sessions for a few of my long term Grooming clients. Grooming regularly allows me to monitor their health & keep them looking/feeling fabulous meet Larry (white), Cee Cee (black) & my other CC the retriever. Such good puppies because we have built a trusting relationship through Grooming

23.01.2022 Zen is very big supporter of rescue dogs it is one of the many reasons I studied Animal Therapies to help abused and neglected animals to find peace and harmony within themselves they can relax and learn to love life with their new owners Acupuncture saves lives.... It saved my very own which is why I'm now signing up to study human practice as well. The whole family will be Zen

23.01.2022 They tell you not to cry. They tell you that it's just a dog, not a human being. They tell you that the pain will be over.... They tell you that the animals don't know that they have to die. They tell you that it's important not to let him suffer. They tell you that you can have another one. They tell you it's going to happen to you. They tell you that there is more pain. But they don't know how many times you've looked into your dog’s eyes. They don't know how many times you and your dog have looked into darkness alone. They don't know how many times your dog was the only one who was by your side. They don't know how much fear you have at night when you wake up with your grief. They don't know how many times your dog slept near you. They don't know how much you've changed since the dog has become a part of your life. They don't know how many times you hugged him when he was sick. They don't know how many times you've acted like you didn't see his hair getting whiter. They don't know how many times you've talked to your dog, the only one who really hears. They don't know that it was just your dog who knew you were in pain. They don't know what it feels like to see your old dog trying to get up to say hello. They don't know that if things went wrong, the only one who didn't go is your dog. They don't know that your dog trusts you every moment of his life, even in the last. They don't know how much your dog loved you and how it is enough for him to be happy, because you loved him. They don't know that crying for a dog is one of the most noble, significant, true, purest and warmest things you can do. They don't know when the last time you moved him with trouble... making sure it didn’t hurt him. They don't know what it felt like to pet their face in the last moments of their life.... In Memory of all those who went over the rainbow bridge. You all have a place forever in our hearts Beautiful post shared by Dona Hall and @sacreddreams

20.01.2022 I have literally read it all now....the comments people are suggesting a dog shock collar to train a horse.......so horses are a prey animal and dogs are predators ............... I have to express my voice for the animals this is absolutely not ok and there's never ever any need to use forces or shocks to train any animals. Not ok

20.01.2022 Stop feeding mince to magpies! Snake and bird re-locator Lana Field says feeding them raw mince can cause all sorts of health dramas "Mince is actually really... high in the wrong nutrients and when they eat it, it draws calcium from their bones. The other thing that happens is it can get stuck in the bottom of their beak, and it can actually rot a hole in their beak." Pass it on! : Daniel Sutton

18.01.2022 I love my Zen oil it's works wonders on my aches and pains after a big day. If any owners would like a bottle please message 0418496005

18.01.2022 Use your Manners! The Sniff test - Stop doing that! The sniff test - a badly engrained habit that society has been taught, without a clear understanding of ...what they're actually doing. When you reach out towards a dog, you are using body pressure AT them, giving them no time to assess whether you are safe & whether they require further investigation to pick up your information. You are forcing an interaction of a relationship that hasn't had time to develop. To some dogs, this is quite rude & the reason a lot of dogs snap at or bite people. This can cause alot of behavioral issues because of layered stress due to forced interactions. If they are on lead, they have no where to go if they are sensitive to spacial pressure, so can end up shutting down, shying away or snapping at your hand so you back off. This is an example of how a dog is now using pressure to turn off pressure & make you back off so they aren't so stressed. People think by offering your hand it can give the dog time to sniff to know you're friendly... they can sniff without being forced to sniff your hand.Their noses are far more superior than ours & they don't need close contact forced upon them to smell you. Some dogs might not want to know you. You have no relationship with them and that's perfectly fine. They aren't your dog so you don't need to touch them or steal pats for your own satisfaction. If you are meeting a dog, what should you do? Ask the owner if you can interact with their dog. Not all people want strangers touching their dogs. Especially strangers who you are unlikely to see again. Stand up straight & relaxed, with your hands at your side. Ignore the dog & talk to the owner. Don't stare at the dog & don't try to force an interaction by going in for a pat. If the dog wants to know you, it will come up to you & sniff around. Usually they will move away & then come back for a second sniffathon. Some dogs will bunt your hands & wag their tails, which are good signs that you're likely an accepted new friend. Give them a few slow pats down their back (NOT THEIR HEAD) & then stop. Is the dog happy? Has it accepted your interaction? This will determine whether you can give it more pats. This is a more stress free option for dogs & a reason why in consultations we can develop a good level of trust, especially with fearful dogs & aggressive dogs, without a bunch of negative side effects from forced interactions.

14.01.2022 If you haven't already researched the history of your dog's breed/s please do....it will help you to understand their traits and quirks. It makes me sick seeing animals bred into what's "appealing" than what's healthiest...

07.01.2022 (on photo it is play, not agression) "The art of training a dog owner. Dog owner tells me: Hi, my dog pulls on the leash and runs into the woods after deer if I... let it off leash. Me: Okay. What's the breed? Owner: A siberian husky mixed with a coon hound. Me: Okay, so you have a musher mixed with a hunting type of dog? Owner: yes. Me: ok, what are these breeds bred to do? Owner: well, half of the dog should be pulling and the other half run into the woods and hunt. Me: Yes. And your problem was? Owner: it pulls on the leash and runs after wildlife. Me: yea, it appears that you have a dog meant for pulling and hunting. Owner: yes, that's correct. Can you train it out of the dog? Me: Do you have any interests? Owner: Eh, yea sure I do. I like to paint and watch movies. Me: can you consider quitting doing that? Owner: no, I don't think I can. But what does this have to do with dog training? Me: would you consider doing something else that gives you the same pleasure you get from painting and watching movies? Owner: I mean, sure I can do other things but it's not as fun. Me: ok. And what can you offer a musher that is more fun than pulling and a hunting dog that is more fun than hunting? The dog owner is silent for a while. Owner: That's a good question. I don't know. Me: neither do I. Owner: perhaps I should had gotten myself a PlayStation? Me: haha, yea if you dont like hunting or being a lot outdoors training perhaps this dog isn't for you. Owner: yea, one should perhaps read up more before getting a dog. But it's awfully cute! Me: yes, I understand that. Owner : it sheds a lot too. My husband goes crazy of all the fur everywhere. Me: mmm, that's something you have to deal with. Owner : yes, it was even hairs in the stew last night. Me: yea that's not uncommon. Owner : but you know what? I met a husky when I was 12. It was so beautiful. Ever since I've always wanted one. Me: too bad you didn't meet a PlayStation instead. Owner laughs: alright, I think I'm starting to understand that it's not the dog that has problems but me. Me: haha, not much of a "problem". What you are saying is very common. People with guarding dogs gets angry when their dog growls at strangers. People with sighthounds gets frustrated when their dog comes home with a baby rabbit. People often know too little when they get a dog. Owner : thanks for the chat. I have learned a lot in 10 minutes. Me: good luck in the future. There's a lot we can do to help you in your training with the dog. But The dog will always have a need and joy to pull and hunt. Owner: yes, I can understand that now." Author unknown.

04.01.2022 In my opinion the number one thing you can do to help your animal friend is to feed the best diet possible. Slow cooked 20% meat and 80% veges - broccoli, spina...ch, brussel sprouts, turmeric, some ginger, bokchoy and some raw diets of high quality meat but a good home cooked or canned diet can also be great. If you feed canned food make sure the company which makes the food is not using BPA coated cans. If you can’t afford anything but dry feed a high quality dry food with high protein. Consider adding cancer fighting foods such as cooked broccoli and turmeric to their diet Avoid exposure to pesticides, herbicides and other toxins. Make sure you don’t use chemicals on your lawn, and when you are out walking your dog try to avoid the lawns that are too green and weed free. Be careful what chemicals you use in your home. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals around your animal. Only use flea medications if needed unless your animal has a flea allergy. Yes these are also pesticides and the jury is still out on how toxic these products are to your animal friend. I feel like it is becoming too common to just put animals on year round flea treatment even when it is not needed. If you do use flea medications use the least toxic ones possible and avoid products with multiple ingredients. Avoid over vaccination. I do believe in vaccination but I believe the current vaccine schedules are more than is needed. There are studies confirming the links between vaccination and certain types of cancer like fibrosarcoma. While the correlation is harder to prove with other cancers there does seem to be association between over vaccination and certain cancers like hemangiosarcoma and leukemia. Keep your animal from becoming overweight and make sure they get exercise. Overweight animals are more prone to both cancer and inflammatory disorders such as asthma, inflammatory bowl disease, diabetes a See more
