22.01.2022 Hi Players, We have now had two weeks of an end of year training session with our U18's and senior players. A great opportunity for all of our players to get together and keep up their fitness before the 2021 pre-season really begins. We have just had a BASL meeting last week so plans are underway to get an U18's team entered next year. For our Under 18's please make it a priority to get down their Thursday night for a bit of a run as we are now taking expressions of interes...t for this age group. Please email the club your interest in playing in the Under 18's for Shepp South SC in 2021. We will be in contact with those who have responded in January prior to preseason training commencing. 20.01.2022 In response to the announcement made today that Regional Victoria will be entering stage three restrictions later this week we will be halting all football activities until further notice. We hope that the restrictions will be successful in bringing COVID-19 under some control & that we will be able to recommence our season. We are halting our season, not abandoning it. Once we are given the go ahead to resume football activities we will complete our season; we have the abi...lity to resume operations very quickly. We believe that it is important to remain optimistic that we will get the opportunity to play again this year. The happiness that the past three match days has given to our players has been evident in many ways. Thank you all for your ongoing support & commitment, you have all worked so hard to get the kids back on the park under difficult circumstances - we appreciate your efforts so very much. There is tight timeframe with it starting back in the school holidays and we have many things to work out from a club perspective. Regards Nicole Short Secretary Shepp South SC Hello Delegates, Today’s announcement by the Victorian Premier regarding the easing of regional Victoria’s COVID-19 restrictions includes the return of contact sport for anyone 18 years of age & younger; this means that our 2020 season can resume! Unfortunately today Football Victoria distributed an email to all registered players stating that all competition for 2020 has been cancelled. We have since received confirmation from Football Victoria that this email was incorrectly worded & it was pertaining to metropolitan & NPL competitions, not regional competitions. Because our competition will be resuming the FV refund policy outlined in this email will not apply to SJSA. When we went into lockdown, we were very clear that we would resume & play the remaining seven rounds of our season as soon as easing of restrictions permitted return to play. Our season will be recommencing on Saturday September 26th for all age groups & we have the approval of the City of Greater Shepparton to do so. We are aware that there may be some players or teams who choose not to continue & we will understand & support any such decision but we ask for immediate notification of any withdrawals. The fixture will be adjusted by the end of this week & we will be playing two Gala weekends to complete the remaining seven rounds in five weeks. The vote by the Delegates was 85% in favour of incorporating two Gala weekends into the fixture which will minimize a clash with summer sports. Our COVID-19 Safety Policy will remain in place: Only parents & siblings are permitted to attend matches (no grandparents, or other the exception is if they bring the player in lieu of the parents, no friends or other acquaintances & no club affiliates) Family groups must stand together Family groups must socially distance a distance of at least 1.5 meters must be maintained at all times All individuals 12 years of age & above must wear a mask at all times no mask, no attendance players may remove their mask when they enter the field of play Anyone experiencing respiratory symptoms must not attend the venue Please share this information with your players as soon as possible as there will be a lot of confusion due to the email that was distributed by Football Victoria. 01.01.2022 Hi Players & Families, Thank you for all your responses this past week in regards to the return to play in the SJSA competition. A very big thank you also to all our junior team managers for assisting me in gathering all of your responses so quickly due to such a tight schedule. I can confirm that our teams are returning to play next Saturday 26th September . SJSA have posted the draw on online so please check your game times for next week but I will list them below for those... who may not have access. We will email and post on facebook reminders as we get closer. We have entered our U8's, U10,'s, both U12 teams and we have only one team for U15s due to not enough numbers to run two teams for the remaining games. Training will commence next Thursday 24th as per times below. We are playing and training through the school holidays so some may be away but we do hope we can get as many of players there to get a training session in before the weekend. We will then train on both Tuesdays and Thursdays the following week until the end of the season. We will send out emails and team managers will send out reminders via text as we get ourselves back into this new training routine once again! U8's 4.30 - 5.15pm U12's 5.00 - 6.00 pm U10's 5.30 - 6.15pm U15's 5.45 - 6.45pm We encourage and invite all our U15's who wish to still train. Coaches & committee will discuss with you at training how one team will work on Saturdays.
