23.01.2022 Last Night we hosted This Girl Can in conjunction with This Girl Can VIC and Get Mooving Greater Shepparton. We had a fantastic turn out with lots of eager participants. The Shepparton Golf Club is hosting three "This Girl Can events" but unfortunately we are oversubscribed for the final two events. Please stay tuned and like our Facebook page for follow up events next year. ... Thank you to all the volunteers from the Shepparton Golf Club for making the night a huge success. This Girl Can activities are free & low cost women’s only activities. Whether you want this experience to be a habit changer, a motivator, an escape or a little extra me time the Get Into Golf Women's program has you covered. Join us for a three-week program, sessions will run for 60 mins. Programs are conducted in small groups and focus on giving participants plenty of opportunities to explore skills and to build confidence in preparation to hit the golf course. 16.01.2022 This morning the first of the club's new fleet arrived and as you can see, the staff (and some lady members), were very excited about this. The two Workman replace existing machines that were more than 13 years old and are the hard workers of any golf course maintenance fleet. For the record, one of these Workman was covered by a successful "Our Sporting Future Grant" from the Greater Shepparton City Council. The green tanker and pump was also purchased as part of the "Commun...ities Environment Program Grant" from the Federal Government, which now provides the club with equipment that can be used for both fire-fighting and remote watering capabilities. 08.01.2022 Due to today's weather forecast the Heat policy will be in affect. When the expected temperature for the day exceeds 38 degrees C (according to the bureau of meteorology) players will be advised prior to playing that the extreme heat policy will be implemented. A notice will be placed in the pro shop and on notice boards that the club does not recommend playing in extreme heat however any player who wished to play may do so but must ensure that they are aware that conditions... may be dangerous and that they must take adequate precautions against the extreme heat. Players are advised to use early tee times, carry enough water, sunscreen, wear a hat and should consider using a cart instead of walking or at least use an umbrella for shade. If the temperature exceeds that 38 degrees C (according to the bureau of meteorology) on the day of competition players may cease playing without penalty where the cards will be marked as NSR approved. No refund of entry or competition fee will be given since prior to play they were advised of the extreme temperatures expected. Social players are welcome to play but must also be informed of the dangers and recommendation as above. An acknowledgement that they are aware of the dangers in playing in extreme heat and that they have been advised of the club’s recommendations will be read and signed prior to play by all participants.
