24.01.2022 During these challenging times we pause to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country, both those who are serving now and those who have served before us. We are forever grateful. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.... At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them #LestWeForget.

20.01.2022 CFA has received a number of calls from community members regarding bonfires to mark the ‘Spark in the Dark’ event this evening. We appreciate those who are thanking our frontline workers, but urge you to keep fire safety front of mind. As today’s conditions are windy in some areas we are urging those who wish to participate to not do so by lighting bonfires or using fire pits.... If you are choosing to light a candle, please ensure it is monitored by an adult and extinguished properly. You might like to mark the event by using a torch or outside light. Thank you and stay safe.

07.01.2022 Today marks the 37th anniversary of the Ash Wednesday bushfires. These fires caused destruction across Victoria and South Australia, and sadly 75 people, includ...ing 14 CFA and 3 CFS volunteer firefighters lost their lives. Today our thoughts are with those who were lost and we thank all those who who assisted the firefight. This photo was taken at Warburton during the fires. : Edwin Start

07.01.2022 R U OK? Today is the day to ask, Are You Ok? Ask your friends, Ask your family, and Ask yourself. 2020 has been an extremely challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us.... Shepparton East Fire Brigade supports its members and its community through and through, so it is so important for all of us to look out for each other. The R U Ok website has some amazing resources on how to start that conversation, as well as where to go, and what to do if you’re not, or someone you know, is not ok. (https://www.ruok.org.au/) If you are concerned for your safety or the safety of others, seek immediate assistance by calling Triple Zero (000). For 24/7 support for CFA members and their family check out Cfa.vic.gov.au/wellbeing or call 1800 959 232 If you are thinking about suicide or experiencing emotional distress, help is available at Lifeline (https://www.lifeline.org.au/get-help/) or Call 13 11 14 for 24/7 support. 02.01.2022 This weekend is the end of Daylight Savings. The clocks turn BACK 1hr at 2am on Sunday. Because most of us are spending more time at home, it's a great time to do our annual smoke alarm checks & maintenance.

01.01.2022 Something a little bit different to share tonight. For February's first Sunday of the month training, the Shepparton East Brigade had the COGS Group BigFill to look over & try out. Even though the new BigFill appliance (a giant pump on the back of a ute tray) isn't based at our station, our members still need to be aware of what it is, how we can make use of it, & obtain a base knowledge of how the appliance works, so we took it to a local Channel & had a play as you can see by these photos.
