23.01.2022 Weekly Wrap Week Beginning 18th May 2020. Hi OSHC families, Firstly wed like to officially welcome back all our children and families who have spent the term engaging in Online Learning! Its great to have everyone back and we look forward to seeing more of you as we finish off the term with our best feet forward. Last week proved to be one of our coldest yet and was accompanied with the slightest of rains! All of us at OSHC had a blast no matter the weather. ... See below for a breakdown of some of our more popular activities this week! Coil Pots: Children love modelling with clay and especially enjoy making trinkets for their families and friends but can sometimes be overwhelmed when it comes to making items that serve a purpose or involve a greater range of factors (symmetry, depth, structural integrity) - coil pots is a fantastic activity to develop childrens confidence with clay and modelling as well as equipping them with strategies that can be used for other modelling purposes. Sponge Painting: Children really enjoy learning new ways to use their favourite materials and medium and sponge painting is no different. Children painted fantastical patterns using a range of colours - once children transferred this onto their paper they were met with amazing results - children used this method to create trees, butterflies and bodies of water. Crunchy Chocolate Slice: The cooking activity this week was crunchy chocolate slice! This recipe proved to be an excellent treat, filled with weet-bix and chocolatey goodness! Children enjoyed this recipe as it allowed them to utilise a range of skills - crushing, stirring, sifting and shaking! Drawing your Dream House: Following last weeks activity of Draw your house! Many children let educators know that next time theyd love to illustrate their dream house! We saw children draw giant rooms for their pets, lava lamp furniture and even a talking teddy bear that guards the door. Hama Beads: This activity is a long-time favourite from the children at OSHC and hasnt been featured on the program for a while. Children were so excited to create their masterpieces and used dinosaur templates as well as rabbits, fairies and horses. If you have any feedback, suggestions or questions regarding the program feel free to leave a comment below, email us or approach Leanne or Dan in the service. In-depth reflections of the program and activities are available to families within the OSHC office. Please find attached the weekly program for this week: Week Beginning 25th May 2020

22.01.2022 Golden Time Gardening. Many children said I have a compost bin, vegetable and flower garden at home. Sounds great! We discussed about how to make compost at OSHC, we smelled all our plants and made some excited plan in the future. It was a fun time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise at OSHC. We are responsible for our environment.

A lot of our activities both inside and out this week talk to Indigenous Australian practices, activities or crafts. Indigenous Australian-inspired activities often take place at OSHC as it is a great way to immerse the children in both culture and the natural world around them.
