04.01.2022 SPOTLIGHT TIME meet @billiejusticethomson an Adelaide artist guru who specialises in painting food and drink (think ramen noodles minties and negroni’s ) so when you see her work it instantly transports you down memory lane or gives you hunger pangs! Billie Justice Thomson’s work reflects her obsession with the kitsch, nostalgia and iconic food imagery. her paintings on glass and perspex and in watercolour reference old shop windows or displays with symbols of domestic simplicity. really she is playing homage to the kitschy delights of eating, drinking and the day to day miracles of existence. her work sparks joy and brings to life some of our favourite things we can’t get enough!
