25.01.2022 Helping our educators kick those mid winter blues with a supercharge station. Usually our morning teas consists of caffeine & cakes but getting in the good stuff during colder days is important!

25.01.2022 Shine Brooklyn are supporting the children to continue to foster their connections within the local community, even during these difficult times. We reached out to a local aged care facility Estia Health Ardeer where we have begun a Pen Pal program with the residents. From this we hope to continue to support the children with making strong community relationships and hopefully put a smile on the faces of our older generation who are currently doing it tougher than most during the pandemic, as we develop a positive communication channel.

24.01.2022 Welcome back Shine St Albans. Last week we were so excited to welcome back new and old friends to our Shine St Albans centre. Our Educators cant wait to celebrate and share in each childs individual learning journey and achievements within the centre.

22.01.2022 Happy 3rd Birthday Shine Brooklyn On Friday the 10th of July, Shine Brooklyn celebrated its 3rd Birthday!! What an exciting day of celebrations it was, a big thank you to Miss Helen from Happy Feet who helped to make it extra special.

22.01.2022 At Shine Early Learning St Albans, small group interactive activities strengthen the bond & relationship between the educator & children. Last week, we made banana ice cream which was enjoyed during one of Melbourne’s hot days.

21.01.2022 Beetroot Harvest Our little green thumbs at Shine Brooklyn were excited to discover our Beetroots were ready for harvesting. After a good clean and a journey into the kitchen, the children got busy in the afternoon making Beetroot dip to have with their afternoon tea. It was wonderful to finally enjoy the rewards of all our hard work in the vegetable garden.

21.01.2022 The Giraffe children have been busy bees learning about busy bees!

21.01.2022 The Department of Education have provided us with some great resources over the past few months. Birdie and the Virus is a storybook from the QLD centre for perinatal and infant mental health. The book is designed to address changes a child might experience in their day to day life as a result of covid 19. It covers topics such as social distancing, the testing process, and the importance of personal hygiene.

20.01.2022 Teaching children facts about the solar system and other planets will allow them to compare and contrast them to their home planet. The Giraffe children at Shine Carlingford worked collaboratively to create their own plants and display their own Solar System.

19.01.2022 The children at Shine Preschool Carlingford have been tending to the garden. Theyve all been keen to enhance their green thumb skills to look after our fruit trees, herbs and veggie garden.

18.01.2022 Transition to school is an essential milestone in a child’s life. Our program approaches school readiness in a holistic manner. We provide a rigorous program reviewing literacy; numeracy and development of social, emotional and independence skills.

18.01.2022 Staying Connected. Today our Giraffe Room held a special zoom birthday celebration, for one of our children accessing remote learning during the stage four lock down. It was such a special experience to share with the children and family. We believe staying connected during the next six weeks is extremely important and we will be holding weekly zoom meetings with all our rooms to keep in touch.

17.01.2022 Our Christmas carolling family have found a beautiful new home. Today we donated them to our local nursing home Wesley Rayward @ Carlingford. We missed our annual gathering with the residents this year & hope to make up for it in 2021.

16.01.2022 Another one bites the dust Miss Rezvan celebrates her 10 year anniversary at Shine Preschool Carlingford this week. We have loved sharing the past 10 years with you & we look forward to many more joyful years!

14.01.2022 Magic Craig will be visiting Shine Carlingford to present a show THAT MAGICAL SMILE as part of Dental Hygiene Week. Magic Craig is a regular visitor at the centre presenting important topics to children in a fun magical show.

14.01.2022 The children @ Shine Early Learning St Albans enjoyed a cooking experience making fruit kebabs. Miss Sarah assisted them to cut up some fruit & on their own, they used various shape cutters as well. Developing their self help skills, they skewered their own fruit before eating them.

12.01.2022 Our outdoor Picassos Painting class. The children loved painting outside and really tuned into their surroundings... beautiful blue sky, the sun was shining, our regular cockatoos were flying around and the rustling of the trees added a serene sound to this picture perfect environment.

10.01.2022 Welcome to our Tea Party. The Giraffe Room children have shown a recent interest in role playing tea parties. One of the children asked Miss Brittany if they could make Jam Tarts as a cooking experience and collaboratively they thought wouldnt it be great to hold our own tea party in the Giraffe Room together.

09.01.2022 As part of Infant Mental Health Awareness week last month our Dolphin and Caterpillar Room at Shine Brooklyn developed a buddy system and now continue regular visits that provide opportunities between the two rooms to continue to support children with building meaningful connections and relationships. This week a group afternoon tea was held and it was lovely to observe our older children supporting our younger children with meal times with nurturing interactions.

08.01.2022 Welcome to the Shine Brooklyn Farmers Market. After hearing lots of wonderful stories from one of our families about their time spent at the family farm, our Dolphin Room educators wanted to share in this experience with the children by replicating a farmers market in the environment.

07.01.2022 We had the StEPS vision screener today at Shine Preschool Carlingford. Our 4 year olds had their vision tested. What a great preschool early intervention program!

07.01.2022 Weve started our Kindergarten preparation program that includes homework kits, signing in and out, literacy and numeracy revision. This program is in the lead up to our end of year 6 week Transition to School program...watch this space.

05.01.2022 Magic Craig visited Shine Preschool Carlingford presenting a show That Magical Smile. This was in conjunction with Dental Hygiene Week. The children learn a lot in a fun environment and Magic Craig is a very funny man delivering information on very important topics.

04.01.2022 Up-cycled Music Wall Miss Elizabeth has been developing creative and fun experiences which introduce the children to Sustainable practices, recycling and up-cycling in all environments of the centre. She recently created an up-cycled music wall for the children to explore in the outdoor area, which has held some fantastic musical performances for us all.

04.01.2022 At Shine Early Learning St Albans, we had a make your own bracelet station... there were multiple skills required for this activity. Firstly, painting the beads & being creative with the colours, followed by constructing the bracelet by threading the beads through coloured string. End product...a beautiful coloured bracelet!

02.01.2022 Miss Evana is our trainee at Shine Preschool Carlingford and recently created this fantastic jungle world. It is so visually amazing but she also very cleverly added lots of sensory components to the set up. The elephant trough is made with dried lavender, the river is painted bubble wrap, theres synthetic grass, moss rocks, logs, pebbles, cones...

01.01.2022 The preschoolers @ Shine Preschool Carlingford continue with their learning of the Solar System During one of our group times, we lit up the ceiling with a fantastic solar light show. The children also drew their own interpretations of a night sky.
