21.01.2022 What’s needed for the transition to net zero and what changes in Australia’s energy mix do industry leaders expect to see? How will it impact our economy and employment? We look forward to welcoming Kylie Porter, Executive Director at UN Global Compact Network Australia (UN GCNA) to our Energy:Future webinar tomorrow. UN GCNA’s highly anticipated report ‘Just Transition: Implications for the Corporate Sector and Financial Institutions in Australia’ was released last week. Kyl...ie highlights that Now we have a critical choice to make about how we manage the clean energy transition. The ‘just transition’ approach calls for an environmentally sustainable economy that contributes to the goals of decent work, social inclusion and the eradication of poverty. Corporates and financial institutions will play a key role in planning and delivering the transition for Australia, and we are excited to explore this tomorrow. Register now to hear from our panellists: Frank Calabria, Origin Energy Rachel Watson, Pacific Hydro John Titchen, Goldwind Australia Stephanie Moroz, EDL Simon Holmes à Court, Smart Energy Council Vicky Au, CSIRO John Hirjee, ANZ Craig Wilson, Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd Alan YU, LAVO Register here: https://bit.ly/2JNhzDX Read the report here: https://bit.ly/38ngoFI #energytransition #hydrogenenergy #energy #resources #renewableenergy #hybrid

20.01.2022 As part of Movember Australia our team of Mo Bros and Mo Sisters will be sharing why they're supporting men's health in 2020. Meet Kate Maguire, Business Development and Marketing Coordinator who is walking 120km across November: "Mental health is very important, especially after the year we’ve had. I have a father, brother, partner and male friends who have kept me grounded and relaxed during this time, and so would like to return the favour and raise awareness for men’s men...tal health. As walking keeps me calm, I’m hoping by moving for Movember it will motivate others to find places or activities where they can mentally reset, and learn it’s ok to talk about their mental health." 11.01.2022 We asked our audience at our Energy:Future forum how the industry's priorities have changed over the last 12 months in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The panel discussion on the development and role of emerging and enabling technologies in our future energy landscape explored wind production, wave technology, tidal energy, hydrogen batteries and solar energy voltage correction technology. The panel emphasised the need for a complex mix of differ...ent technologies in the sector to work together in order to reduce emissions. Thanks to panellists, John Titchen from Goldwind, Craig Wilson from Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd and Alan YU from LAVO, moderated by Justin McFarlane from ShineWing Australia Sustainability. In 2019 at the International Mining and Resources Conference we asked the sector which of the Sustainability Development Goals were most important to them. The top three were: Goal 3: Good health and wellbeing Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure We look forward to being part of IMARC 2020 where we will be sponsoring the Renewables & Future Energy sessions on Thursday 26 & Friday 27 November. #energytransition #hydrogenenergy #energy #resources #renewableenergy #hybrid

03.01.2022 Meet Jack Kidgell, Senior Consultant in our Tax division and a proud Movember Australia supporter: "I am very happy to be growing a Mo again with the ShineWing Mo Bro’s and Mo Sista’s in 2020. This year my Mo has had the added benefit of providing some comic relief for my co-workers over Zoom who have had a laugh at my mo-growing abilities (or lack of). "My family has a history of prostate cancer which has encouraged me to get involved in Movember in prior years. In such a to...ugh year for many I think that raising awareness and funds for mental health is also more important than ever. We should all be making the effort to regularly check in on the men in our life to make sure that they are doing okay. Hopefully we can make a difference to men’s health and stop men dying too young." 02.01.2022 Rounding out our Energy:Future forum was our panel discussion about the opportunities and challenges of hydrogen development and its impact on our future energy supply. Representing industry and government, we welcomed Rachel Watson from Pacific Hydro, Vicky Au from CSIRO and Stephanie Moroz from EDL Energy, and panel moderator and our Partner, Matthew Schofield. The discussion highlighted Australia's viability in becoming a key player in hydrogen export, with comment from ou...r guest speakers around the government support in accelerating programs in support of scaling up hydrogen. Our proximity to Asia, and abundant renewable energy sources, provides Australia with a leading position to expand on these opportunities. There was recognition that the creation and storage of hydrogen poses complex challenges that requires innovation and investment. Thanks to all of our speakers for sharing their time and expertise. #energytransition #hydrogenenergy #energy #resources #renewableenergy #hybrid

01.01.2022 Hosted by our Partner, Blayney Morgan, our Energy:Future event got off to a brilliant start with Simon Holmes à Court from Smart Energy Council showing how Australia is transitioning towards more renewable energy. Our line-up of experts discussed the various net zero carbon emissions targets set by countries and companies across the world and how Australia is progressing. Our first panel, moderated by Kylie Porter from Global Compact Network Australia, discussed the growing i...mportance of the energy transition in our everyday lives. Recognising that large corporations are taking the lead in Australia, community engagement, stakeholder management and the role of the customer is shaping the way in which boards, senior management and investors are considering their strategic alliances. In addition to Simon, our other experts, Frank Calabria from Origin Energy and John Hirjee from ANZ Australia contributed their insights and confidence on where the future of Australia’s energy is heading. #energytransition #hydrogenenergy #energy #resources #renewableenergy #hybrid
