17.01.2022 Dalyellup Beach Stairs The reconstruction of the Dalyellup Beach Stairs has commenced following delays due to weather and access to materials. We’re expecting construction to take four weeks depending on the weather.... The stairs will remain closed during construction. Please obey all signs when in the area.

16.01.2022 Graffiti, Vandalism & Tagging There has been an increase in vandalism and graffiti throughout the Shire, most recently at Dalyellup Beach car park (Zedor Way). Following this, we have engaged a security contractor to conduct daily/nightly patrols of hot spot areas for the foreseeable future.... How you can help You can report any acts of graffiti vandalism against public assets or community facilities to [email protected] or visit capel.wa.gov.au/home/let-us-know/. If you know a graffiti vandal, report them anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit crimestopperswa.com.au/make-report/. If you witness vandalism or antisocial behaviour, call Bunbury Police on 9722 2111.

03.01.2022 Council Update In early September, the Shire of Capel Council requested to defer the filling of the vacant councillor position until the October 2021 elections. The Western Australian Electoral Commissioner approved the request as empowered under the Local Government Act 1995.... 02.01.2022 Keep an eye out for the Fight the Bite helicopter We'll be conducting aerial mosquito larviciding today. Mosquitos breed in water they may congregate as adults in dense foliage such as Peppy trees.... Following rainfall, water levels rise and the eggs hatch, so larvae are found in the water and wetlands. Aerial larviciding targets mosquito larvae and is an important preventative public health measure to reduce the incidence of these mosquito-borne diseases. 02.01.2022 Landscaping | Peppy Beach We have started landscaping works at the Peppermint Grove Beach Foreshore. This week are lowering an electrical main and starting site preparation.... We will remove some turf and sand and lay compost (weather dependant).

Cash4Cans will be here every Thursday and alternate Saturdays between 8am and 12noon. Eligible containers... The scheme targets beverage containers most commonly seen as litter. Accepted items include: beverage cans plastic drink containers with lids removed glass drink containers with lids removed flavoured milk cartons. For a full list, go to www.dwer.wa.gov.au/cds Containers must be clean, empty and sized between 150ml and 3L. Limit of 200 containers per family/groups. Trailer loads will not be accepted. Wine bottles, spirit bottles and milk bottles will not be accepted as they aren't covered by WA's Container Deposit Scheme.
