We are going to add up all the students from each class and the class with the highest percentage of students who scoot to school will get a special scooter session next Thursday! Which class will be the winner???

16.01.2022 If Book Week hasn't quenched your need for fun literary activities? Never fear... we have another suggestion for you. Follow this link https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=670149& to register for this free event as part of AUSTRALIA READS. Our very own Dave Lowe (can we claim this masterful storyteller as our own?? - I certainly hope so) is amongst a group of authors who will have to listen to quotes from books then identify the authors and titles. If you are in grad...es 3-6 check out team A - our special Book Week author visitor Samantha Wheeler will be there!!!!... pitted against Dave in this battle of book knowledge... Authors participating: Quiz master: Brian Falkner Team A Pamela Rushby, Chris Bongers, Sam Wheeler. Team B - Michael Gerard Bauer, Will Kostakis, Dave Lowe. Free session. Friday 6 November from 4:30 5:30 QLD time. The event is a ZOOM online event and you will be emailed a link close to the event. 'Australia Reads' is all about celebrating the joys of reading. 08.01.2022 Happy Birthday Mrs Perkins! This week saw a very special birthday and equally special celebration!

08.01.2022 And that's a wrap on Book Week! Our final activity was a session for our grade 3 - 6 students with a truly inspiring Australian author, Samantha Wheeler. Samantha spoke about how she became an author an how she goes about turning her book ideas into a reality. It was refreshing to hear that just like our students, she has to edit her work many times before it is ready for publishing. Her love of animals and reading was certainly evident and well received by our students. Mrs Youngman might have also been just a little bit star struck and thrilled to hear about Samantha's adventures in researching and writing the story 'Mr Cassowary'!

05.01.2022 Wow what a Book Week parade! Thanks so much to our wonderful students who dressed up to celebrate our love of books. A huge shout out to all the parents and friends who were able to make it - the students just loved seeing your smiling faces as they took a spin around the oval. It was also a treat to see our buddy classes 'feasting' on a good book at the 'Reading Picnic' after the parade. It's so true that sharing a good book is one of life's great joys!

03.01.2022 We’re very excited to bringing you the Twilight Christmas Carols tomorrow afternoon. The event starts at 3:00pm, children will start singing at 4:00pm and we’ll conclude and start packing up at 6:00pm. The P&C has been working closely with Mrs Rehm and Mr Perry to ensure that we bring you a Covid Safe event in line with the Department’s guidelines. With that said, we have some small differences which we have outlined below.... We will have ONE entry and exit point to the school. Please use the double gates at Signal Row. Upon entry, we ask you to ‘check in’ via the QR code. We will also have hand sanitiser available to use. We ask that immediate family members only attend this event this year. The oval will be marked out into a 2mtr x 2mtr square grid. One household per square. Each ‘square’ has a gap of 1.5mts between to ensure that we are socially distancing between families. We are still able to have our sausage sizzle BBQ and Bar, however, these have been moved off the oval and onto the raised seating area, to ensure adequate room for people lining up. We will be selling Christmas Hamper raffle tickets and have soft drinks/juice/water available to purchase also and lolly bags & snow cones for the kids. If you prefer contactless sales, all our stalls & raffle tickets will have eftpos facilities. As always, these events are best run with the support of the community and we’re looking for parents who are able to spend 30mins at a stall (drinks, snow cone, lolly bag) to assist with sales. If you can assist there will be an open roster for you to choose a time. We look forward to a lovely relaxed afternoon and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow! P&C

01.01.2022 After being given the all clear from the wonderful staff at Brighton Veterinary Surgery, our rescued tawny frogmouth was released. From all reports he was reunited with his parents & has learnt his lesson about straying too far! Thank you Mrs Youngman, Clover, Matilda & Mr Eden for helping him find his way home.

01.01.2022 And congratulations must also go to our wonderful staff here at Shorncliffe. From caterpillars to a pair of Lorax (or is that Loraxes or Lori?) we had it all. Just wondering though if Mr Donnelly found the wardrobe to go with his Lion and witch......
