25.01.2022 Joe Walsh spent time in Australia playing and touring with Kevin Borich in the Party Boys, that's when Kevin rang me to see if there was any place in Melbourne I could suggest for Joe and Kevin to check out after their gigs while they where in Melbourne, at that time I had RAM Recording Studios in Punt Rd South Yarra one of the sessions involved Nikki Nicholls doing vocal backing tracks and she would bring in her partner Glen Couburn who was part owner of the Chevron night cl...ub, I mentioned Kevin Borich and Joe Walsh and he jumped at the chance to put our names on his guest list, the following night I picked up Joe from his motel and got him to the gig, the Party Boys Rocked out with Joe and Kevin pumping out Joe Walsh spent time in Australia playing and touring with Kevin Borich in the Party Boys, that's when Kevin rang me to see if there was any place in Melbourne I could suggest for Joe and Kevin to check out after their gigs while they where in Melbourne at that time I had RAM Recording Studios in Punt Rd South Yarra one of the sessions involved Nikki Nicholls doing vocal backing tracks and she would bring in her partner Glen Coburn who was part owner of the Chevron night club, I mentioned Kevin Borich and Joe Walsh and he jumped at the chance to put our names on his guest list, the following night I picked up Joe from his motel and got him to the gig, the Party Boys Rocked out with Joe and Kevin pumping out some great riffs and solo's, about midnight, time to pack up and head to the Chevron where there was a long queue waiting to get in I took Kevin and Joe up to the front where security stopped us I mentioned our names where on the guest list, he pointed to Joe and said there is no way he is coming in dressed like that ( Joe was wearing his favorite track suit ) the commotion got Glen to the front door he looked at Joe and shook his head and said John I'll take you down to the piano Bar but can you ask Joe to stay seated at the table, about an hour later Glen came over and asked me if Joe would like to play piano I asked Joe and he said sure we can all go there so Kevin, Joe and myself all sat on the piano stool singing songs as Joe played along, his track suit seemed to not matter anymore

09.01.2022 What a night it was, adding to the advertised Talent line up on the night Mr Showbiz himself Issi Dye enjoyed doing a set with the RAM Band... Peter Robinson (Bass) and Laurie Arthur (Guitar) put together the Strangers playing their instrumental hits, they then backed another surprise guest Terry Dean who reminded everyone about Gorden Grove dance in Glenroy back in the six tees where he appeared regularly with the Strangers along with other special guest including Colin Cook... who also did a great set that night with the strangers with his classic hit "Heart", Peter Doyle showed his professional talent and why Stan Rofe said Quote " Peter Doyle is the best voice in this country" adding to the night was the talented Jeff Phillips and Johnny Stevens and the Impalas with compare Bobby Shaw. and a special thanks to the catering company for a great Bar. 05.01.2022 Spent Saturday afternoon at the Melbourne Guitar Show it was great catching up with friends in the music trade and making new trading contacts for JVB Strings,... meeting up with some of Australia's best musicians and passing on the good word on the JVB Premium Polymer Coated Electric, Acoustic in 80/20 and Phosphor Bronze strings the response on these strings has been terrific from retail stores re-ordering and the positive feedback from guitar players using them. I took the opportunity to give the JVB Premium Polymer Coated strings to some of the finest guitarists at the guitar show asking them for their professional opinion after having played the JVB's and comparing them with their current brand of strings, I am looking forward to their replies. There where some great guitar players jamming it up on stage among them Phil Manning one of Australia's great guitarists and a great long time friend since the mid seventies.
