Joined us just before lockdown and she stayed with us through our crazy zoom sessions. Attending near on every day We continued to keep her active and educate her on nutrition at this time. 12.01.2022 Are you active enough when dieting? Seems pretty straight forward, exercise and eat less and you’ll lose weight. And yeh, that’s pretty much it but if you’re dieting for an extended period of time, you’ll find that your body will start to slow down. ... Sub-consciously you’ll move less, fig-it less, walk less, talk less. This is known as your NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis). Moving less means burning less calories. This may inhibit fat loss. So when I say are you active enough. I don’t necessarily mean are you going to the gym 4xper week. I mean how active are you out with your routine exercise. Here are a couple of ways to be more conscious of you activity levels... 1. Have a daily/weekly step target. 2. Set an alarm on your phone to go for a walk or more around the office. 3. Schedule walks into your day, before, at lunch, after work. 4. Get off the bus the stop earlier. There are some really easy ways to be more mindful about your activity levels during a fat loss phase. 07.01.2022 One of the key starting points for any fat loss journey is having an understanding of how many calories you should be aiming to eat. Here is your simple guide to working out your own needs... 1. Take your weight in Kilograms and multiply by either 22 for females or 24 for males. ... 2. This figure is an estimate of your BMR (the amount of energy required by your body at absolute rest). So you need to factor in your daily activity levels. You need to choose a Physical Activity Level (PAL) between 1.1-1.7. 1.1 represents someone who is very sedentary (office job, very few steps) and 1.7 represents someone who is highly active (active job, active commute, moving a great deal throughout the day). 3. Once you have factored in your activity levels you now have an ESTIMATE of your maintenance calories (the amount of calories required to keep body fat levels stable). 4. If your goal is fat loss then you need to subtract a number of calories from this amount. The amount you decide to remove will depend on a number of factors, one of the main ones being the desired rate of fat loss. If you have a pressing need to lose fat faster, you would need a more aggressive calorie deficit. Generally a reduction of around 20% works well for most people. There you have it! The working out part is easy, now you have to put this into action! One of the most helpful things in this scenario is having a nutrition template to work from, so that you have an understanding of the quantities of food you should be aiming for. This is why we offer all members a nutrition plan to guide their fat loss journey. Rather than using it as a rigid plan, we provide examples of what you COULD eat to meet your calorie targets and reach your goals.

02.01.2022 My shoulders always hurt when I press Sound familiar? Do you get like niggles and injuries often? ... Maybe you need to take a look at your set-up. The details matter. Here are 3 common mistakes people make when pressing: - Allowing the elbows to flare out to the side too much. Not only does this put a lot of stress on the shoulder joint, it also limits the range of movement and therefore leads to a less effective exercise. Not keeping the wrists straight. Again this places a lot of stress on the wrist and can lead to an ineffective movement. Try to keep joints ‘stacked’ on top of one another and in alignment. Not pressing the feet into the floor and as a result lacking stability. Try to push yourself down into the bench and floor to produce as much stability as possible. Part 1: Eliminating EMOM Min 1: 20 Jumping Jacks & 10 Bodyweight Squats Min 2: 6 Burpees (add 2 every round) The goal is to continue with the above until you can no longer complete the burpees in the minute. Part 2: Assault Bike: Max Calories in 2 mins. Part 3: Max Hang from the Bar. Add the total burpees, calories and hang time (in secs) to give you your total score...
