21.01.2022 Hi All, Please see the link to the latest edition of WA Deaf Society Deaf Magazine. http://www.wadeaf.org.au//56642/deaf-magazine-sept-2015.pdf... You are welcome to share this through your networks.

21.01.2022 Please see message about changes to RAC TTY: We wish to advise that as from July 1 2016, RACWA will be engaging the National Relay Service (NRS) to liaise with our members and customers who require assistance via TTY. Aging and unsupported TTY technology can no longer be relied upon and we are conscious of the fact that potential systems issues may result in unnecessary inconvenience to our hearing impaired clients.... NRS operators have the expertise to ensure that the hearing impaired community can continue to communicate with the RAC, whenever necessary, whilst using their TTY equipment. Our sms (mobile phone messaging service) will be unaffected by this change.

18.01.2022 Please see below from ASLIA WA: ASLIA (WA) will be holding our Annual General Meeting: When: Saturday, 19th September... Time: 11:00am Where: Deaf Community Centre, 46/5 Aberdeen Street, East Perth. Several positions on the committee are up for grabs this year as well. Committee members are required to serve a two-year term. Serving as a committee member is a rewarding experience and I encourage anyone to put up their hand to volunteer their time to our association! You will likely remember we held an EGM earlier this year to pass a new constitution. Unfortunately this do not meet with the Department of Commerces rules and some adjustments have had to be made in order to conform to these guidelines. We will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting at the same time as our AGM to pass the updated constitution. Following our AGM and EGM, the committee (those newly elected and those continuing on) would like to invite you all to join us at lunch. Members will need to purchase their own food and drink, but this is a nice opportunity to network with fellow practitioners in a social environment. Venue TBC. Please RSVP to [email protected] by 5pm Wednesday, 16th September so we know how many biscuits, tea, coffee and milk to get! Please contact ASLIA WA for copy of constitution and voting forms.
