05.01.2022 A Landmark Event In The History Of Australian Television Analog TV signals have now been permanently switched off across Australia. Marking the end of an era, Australia’s final two regions switched to digital-only TV on 10 December 2013.... The final two regions were Melbourne and remote and central eastern Australia, including areas of the Northern Territory outside of the Darwin switchover region. The Digital Switchover Taskforce would like to congratulate these last two regions and the rest of Australia on this landmark event in the history of Australian television, and to the many people who helped to make it happen. If you are not receiving any TV channels, you may not have made the switch to digital television. You can still get information about how to switch on this site or by calling the Digital Ready Information Line on 1800 20 10 13. The Household Assistance Scheme and Satellite Subsidy Scheme will also remain open for eligible households to provide practical help in the following regions. For households in the Sydney region, applications will remain open until 3 January 2014. For households in Melbourne, Northern Territory (outside of Darwin), remote areas of NSW, Queensland, South Australian and Victoria, Lord Howe Island and Torres Strait Islands, applications will remain open until 10 January 2014.
