18.01.2022 How to look after your at home oyster delivery 101! The oysters will be fine in the box they come in - it is insulated and recyclable! So once used break it down and put in your recycle bin Open the box up and sprinkle water on the hessian liner and leave a little open so air can come in and cool the oysters. Store in a cool part of your house like the pantry, laundry or walk in wardrobe until you open them - once shucked they will need to be refrigerated or eaten them soo...n after shucking. Even better if you have a wine or beer fridge - they will last for days if kept at around 12 degrees. Regardless of where you put them, they will be fine for at least a week if not 2 weeks if kept cool- they just sit there waiting for the tide to come back in! 10.01.2022 How to look after your at home oyster delivery 101! Sydney Rocks last up to two weeks from the time of harvest in proper storage, unshucked. They can be stored in a cool spot in your home, like the pantry or laundry. You may also pop them in them in a warmer spot in the fridge, like the vegetable crisper if you do choose to chill them. As long as it is between 10-15 degrees, they should be fine.... There’s no need for alarm if they get a bit of sun when you receive them. It’s quite natural in their own habitat and they just sit there waiting for the tide to come back in! Pacific oysters, on the other hand, last for about a week, unshucked and kept in the fridge at 5-10 degrees. When you receive your box, open it up and you may sprinkle some water on the hessian liner and leave a little open so air can come in and cool the oysters. They will be fine in the box they come in - it is insulated and recyclable! So once used break it down and put in your recycle bin.
