24.01.2022 Not a traditional bride and groom portrait, but it IS genuine and spontaneous love. The plan was for the first dance to be in the function room but the lawn at Aanuka is beautiful so I suggested moving it and the cake cutting outside. These are the moments I always look for because they are spontaneous and unposed.

I've got this thing that you wouldn't just walk into a restaurant and back the chef to have one crack at making something you would want to eat forever without seeing a menu so I use that in my approach to wedding photography. ... To me, the best way to make sure you're going to get something you love forever is to talk and share some ideas and samples around to make sure that your special day is going to look the way you want it. 21.01.2022 Wedding days are made up of many fleeting moments - split second stories that tell you so much about the people involved. To my mind these are the moments that give you that intangible feel for what someone is like, little moments of love and tenderness that can not be faked. My feeling is that if I asked Mackenzie and Justin to hold hands and then try and "create" this image it just wouldn't be the same, especially for the couple because it isn't a real moment between the tw...o of them, it is manufactured love - not the REAL love they feel for each other. 19.01.2022 ** Major announcement **. I have recently been talking with the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) about trying to find a way to contribute towards recovery for those affected by the Australian Bushfires emergency. We dont have Celeste Barber clout BUT we have organised some major industry sponsors and photographers to shoot family portrait photographs for those people who have lost theirs in the fires. Obviously we cant bring back things that have been... destroyed but we can start to rebuild. Plans, product and other fine points are still being worked on but over 100 AIPP photographers have signed up today alone to help. 18.01.2022 For the last month or so I’ve been starting work at 6am and been wrapping up about 9 at night - so focused on what I have to do that I need time to earth myself. So this morning I put the walking shoes on and got a lungful of nature.it’s rained over night so the air is thick and rich - just like me only richer. Happy Tuesday everyone!

16.01.2022 My personal favourite type of photography is black and white and inspired from the 50's and 60's in particular. This era produced beautiful, romantic work and I like to apply that style to weddings I shoot, in saying this these type of images are an add on - there will always be a colour version but this type of work makes for beautiful individual framed wall art. 13.01.2022 School Formal time for my son and his girlfriend. It was almost 3 hours until sunset when this was taken - you get used to that kind of light up here shooting weddings so you get used to finding unusual places to shoot portraits in out of the sun. In this instance the fire escape provide good colours, was out of direct light but the lines of the steps and walls created an effect where your eye gets dragged to the middle of the frame.
