25.01.2022 Where did 10,000 come from? The 10,000 steps concept was initially formulated in Japan in the lead-up to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. There was no real evidence to support this target. Rather, it was a marketing strategy to sell step counters. There was very little interest in the idea until the turn of the century, when the concept was revisited by Australian health promotion researchers in 2001 to encourage people to be more active. And as discussed on the CHEWING THE FAT sessions, while you’re up and out reaching your 10k steps, what are you now NOT doing? Yep. That’s right ................

24.01.2022 We all have things that are in the way of getting our health sorted. Time, money, future events, belief in ourselves, whatever it is, while you may not see it right now, it’s always something that can be handled in communication. And there’s nothing more important or pressing than your Heath NOW. So even if you think it’s not possible, reach out anyway and allow us to hold your hand and guide you through what IS really possible.

23.01.2022 Something to think about coming into the silly season. Actually its more of a something to DO about situation we’re heading into.

23.01.2022 From Werner Erhard on having power in life. While this works for life in general, it’s also pertinent to those thinking about getting their health in order. Take from this what you will. Your power is a function of velocity, that is to say, your power is a function of the rate at which you translate intention into reality. Most of us disempower ourselves by finding a way to slow, impede, or make more complex than necessary the process of translating intention into reali...ty. There are two factors worth examining in our impairing velocity, in our disempowering ourselves. The first is the domain of reasonableness. When we deal with our intentions or act to realize our intentions from reasonableness, we are in the realm of slow, impede and complicate. When we are oriented around the story or the narrative, the explanations, the justifications, we are oriented around that in which there is no velocity, no power. Results are black and white. In life, one either has results (one’s intentions realized) or one has the reason, story, explanations, and justifications. The person of power does not deal in explanations. This way of being might be termed management by results (not management for results but management by results). The person of power manages him or herself by results and creates a space or mood of results in which to interact with others. The other factor to be addressed is time. Now never seems to be the right time to act. The right time is always in the future. Usually this appears in the guise of "after I (or we) do so and so, then it will be the right time to act"; or after so and so occurs, then it will be the right time to act; or "when so and so occurs, then it will be the right time to act." The guise includes "gathering all the facts," "getting the plan down," "figuring out ‘X’," "getting ready," etc. Since now is the only time you have in reality and now will never seem to be the right time to act, one may as well act now. Even though "it isn’t the right time," given that the "right time" will never come, acting now is, at the least, powerful (even if you don’t get to be right). Most people wait for the decisive moment, whereas people of power are decisive in the moment. - Werner Erhard https://youtu.be/RXLqFTdMy3o

20.01.2022 Inflamed in the brain.... ? It’s now clear that inflammation is part of the problem in many, if not all, diseases of the body. And targeting immune or inflammatory causes of disease has led to a series of breakthroughs, from new treatments for rheumatoid arthritis and other auto-immune diseases in the 1990s, through to the advent of immunotherapy for some cancers in the 2010s. Even more pervasively, low-grade inflammation, detectable only by blood tests, is increasingly considered to be part of the reason why common life experiences such as poverty, stress, obesity or ageing are bad for public health.

19.01.2022 Go you good thing!!!!

19.01.2022 Want to impact your health and vitality, here are our top five tips... 1. Stop eating so much sugar 2. Minimise grains 3. Minimise dairy... 4. Here’s more on this topic by Dr K....

18.01.2022 Of course...LDL and heart disease has a hazard risk ratio of 1.3. Real but not overwhelming. But triglyceride (which is the same as VLDL in the fasting state because it's all liver-derived) has a hazard risk ratio of 1.8 much higher. The reason LDL is targeted by doctors is because every pharma company has a statin to sell you. The best way to reduce VLDL? Cut the sugar! You're welcome. 17.01.2022 For our friends with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis who Simplr health has helped transform their metabolism, and therefore overall health and vitality, this article is of interest.

14.01.2022 This message today from one of our clients sums it up really.... 83.9kgs on the scales this morning means 50kgs down from my biggest weight and from when I said enough. Pretty chuffed about it all, results inside and out speak volumes (the compliments are nice but how I feel overall and how I can go about my daily schedule without issue is the why). Has been 26 weeks on Protocol, and almost 7 months since my last beer / Coke / packet of chips / chocolate etc when I started... clearing the house of those goodies. Congratulations David Gale - you inspire me! #simplrhealth #tasteoflongevity #foodasmedicine #weightlossishealthcare #weightloss #metabolicintervention #diabetes #performancecoaching #yourlastdietever #education #understanding #results #whoisthis #50kg #awholenewlife @ Sydney, Australia

14.01.2022 It’s all in your head.

13.01.2022 And this is why I hassled, begged and pleaded Dr K to be a scientific advisor to Simplr.Health. Here’s more from Dr K on neuroplasticity, changing habits, and improving health outcomes. Performance as performance. You must first be aware, and then act consistently with the new future you declare. It is actually possible to train your brain to work for you, versus you always being at the effect of and having your life run by the piece of meat inside your skull!

13.01.2022 So much more at risk than what we normally associate with being overweight.

13.01.2022 Another amazing instalment of CHEWING THE FAT, the Advisor editions. Dean speaks with microbiologist and advisor to Simplr Health, John Ellerman. Comments and questions welcome https://youtu.be/UOTO5147U9E

11.01.2022 Cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounts for 1/3 of all deaths globally ie. ~18.6 million in 2019. One third of these deaths due to CVD were individuals aged between 30 to 70 years!!! According to the top ranking list of modifiable risk factors - in other words things that you can actually do something about - the answer to lowering these numbers seems straight forward. Five of the 8 risk factors are related to your diet!... If you’re over-weight and have high blood pressure then you need to act and get that handled now. Please don’t give your family and loved ones another heart-attack this Christmas. I’m here to help so please be in touch and let us work with you to create a plan towards health, vitality and longevity. Dean Kilby Scientific Director Simplr.Health

10.01.2022 Such a privilege to be neighbours to, friends with, trained by, and contribute to Australian martial arts royalty, Glenn and Jo-Anne Coxon. Excitedly, Glenn and I will soon be working up some unique aspects to Simplr Health’s wellbeing and healthful lifestyle offerings - more on this later. For now though this living legend, who has not only landed blows on Chuck Norris, trained Bruce Lee’s daughter, broken Guinness World Records, and told advanced neck cancer to piss off (wh...en doctors gave him a 5% chance of survival!), is trusting me to support his immuno-metabolic health and in just 3 weeks has lost 7kg of fat! Health and vitality takes commitment, discipline and maturity. It also takes having fun and creating a context of play. As a coach, I love learning from the best. And love even more making a difference to champions, masters, and extraordinary human beings . #martialarts #brucelee #chucknorris #guineesbookofworldrecords #metabolicintervention #tasteoflongevity #simplrhealth #livinglegends #chewingthefatwithdeanandtrev #hearthealth #thewinedoctor #science #education #understanding #results @ Sydney, Australia See more

08.01.2022 Dr K on dark chocolate. And possibly the most important part of the article being the last sentence

08.01.2022 This data is consistent with the Simplr Health commitment and strategy towards improving health outcomes in individuals and extending their healthspan. Inflammation is the best predictor of healthy ageing, not telomere length. Hyper-secretion of insulin is highly inflammatory and the root cause of insulin-resistance and metabolic syndrome. To correct this issue, a nutritional intervention is required. The metabolic biochemistry needs to be retrained. As does the gut microbiom...e need to change, and the brain must also rewire to sustain these effects long-term. When people engage my coaching services, my commitment is always that they transform their physiology first and foremost, we must first put the fire out and then hack into and reprogram various biological processes. Furthermore, and just as importantly, there needs to be a transformation in who the individual is Being such that who is there managing this adult, ageing body for the rest of their life is the appropriate human being willing to be responsible to act as required, empowered and enabled to do so. If you’ve had enough of the worry and stress and anxiety related to your current health status and the inevitable impact on your future, then perhaps now is the time to reach out and request the help you need to finally just get the job done. For you and for generations to come. 02.01.2022 A new study released today in Stem Cells might just have solved the mystery behind why mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) continue to suppress inflammation in the body long after the MSCs are cleared from the system. The findings, by researchers at Duke University (Durham, N.C.), could help overcome a critical barrier to MSCs being considered a reliable option when developing treatments for inflammatory diseases ranging from COVID-19 and cancer, to allergies, arthritis and more.

01.01.2022 Lose 25kg over the silly season or gain 10kg and put yourself at further risk for cardiovascular disease. Choose! For many, there’s a right time or once this is out of the way time to sort out their health. And Xmas is one of the biggest. Parties, friends, holidays and of course Xmas day itself. Then there’s New Years........... after that I’ll start. But wait, Easter is coming, it never ends. There’ll always be a reason to wait and put it off. But there’s NEVE...R a right time and always something to hold off for. So why would you wanna start as we come into the festive season? Check it out : The researchers found that Christmas and Midsummer holidays were associated with a higher risk of heart attack (15% and 12% respectively) compared with the control period. Early mornings (8 am) and Mondays were also associated with a higher risk. But by far the day with the highest risk was Christmas Eve, with a 37% increased risk of heart attack, peaking at around 10pm. For Sweden, Christmas Eve is the main day of celebration and therefore the time when heightened emotions will most likely reach their peak, suggest the researchers. Reach out to learn more about how we can make a difference for you - and your loved ones.
