24.01.2022 Breathing - a natural function mostly poorly executed. Why, if it’s natural? Because as humans we are always acting in accordance to how we perceive our environment which is based on all of life’s previous experiences. Breathing is simply an act that we can hone in on with our attention yet everything we do, think and feel is also a result of how we experience ourselves. In the Feldenkrais Method the breath is used as a yard stick of improvement in a persons organisation. There are some recent interviews with James Nestor in YouTube they are interesting. Makes me keen to revisit breathing for my first series of classes next year.

Holding firm and tight in the chest can be an unconscious habit, a sort of self protection mechanism. Learning how to let that go a little can be liberating.
