25.01.2022 Hehe I found this too funny .....
25.01.2022 Great writeup! I am a proud member of The Clever Copywriting School https://campaignbrief.com/feeling-the-impact-but-adapting-t "The Clever Copywriting Schools survey of Australian and international copywriters has this year taken the pulse of the profession at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.... The survey, which took place in May 2020, has previously (2017 and 2019) been a snapshot of copywriters working in Australia. This year, however, the focus was on taking stock of the impact of COVID-19 on copywriters, both in Australia and overseas. Responses show there really isnt a one-size-fits-all outcome for copywriters in COVID-19 while around half (47%) saw a decrease in work, 27% actually saw an increase. Kate Toon, founder of The Clever Copywriting School, said the results were reflective of the diversity of the profession as a whole: Its been an interesting time for copywriters. Many have been incredibly busy while others have felt the impact of project work postponements, a decline in enquiries and, and more invoices being paid late." https://campaignbrief.com/feeling-the-impact-but-adapting-t

14.01.2022 I have worked with a number of agencies over the years, selflessly offering my copywriting and proofreading services to creative agencies that want or need to sub-out content creation tasks on behalf of their clients (such as blog writing or website copy) I LOVE working with agencies because I get to work on a huge variety of projects. For anyone wanting to work with agencies as a freelancer, here are my tips & lessons learned - Understand their deadlines - real... or suggested! I know that agencies are often under the pump from their client, and I can be the difference between them getting the project in on time or not! - On the flip side, often projects get delayed - so that project they booked in for next week? Yeah, it might get pushed back so dont be upset. - Calculate an hourly rate or day rate that works for all parties. I will always charge my worth - but I understand the agency will have a mark up on top of my rate so I keep that in mind when quoting. - Be able to work autonomously. Agencies love it when they can just flick over a project brief with a deadline - and the copywriter just gets it done! - Understand that there might be a chain of command - the project manager might need to get things approved or signed off by a creative director. - Be ready to make edits quickly (and factor this to your project/hourly rate). - Enjoy it! #perthcopywriter #contentservices #freelancer #freelancelife #outsourcing #copywriting #digitalagency #marketingagency #digitalagencies #marketingbrief #creativeprocess #copy #content
13.01.2022 Yes! What a wonderfully uplifting piece from Cherrys Catering & Events Perth - who pivoted their business during the lockdown to support health care staff, but are now back "ding-dinging their catering bell" and are ready to cater for your next corporate event/wedding/dinner party... ...make sure you invite me though haha!

13.01.2022 Professional & industry networks are calling out for new content - from YOU! So go ahead, write a blog to showcase your expertise and have it shared among groups far and wide Are you a paid member of a professional industry group or a local networking association? If you write a blog, I will proofread and edit it for you so it is the best it can be - or better still, give me 5-10 bullet points of the key facts/advice and I will write it for you. Message or email me for a quote
12.01.2022 The briefing session is often called a discovery call. Its where the client and copywriter talk through some of the overarching strategies. Its a good idea to come to the phone call or Zoom meeting with an open mind. All we need to do at this point is start a conversation about what you need, what your audience needs, plus get an idea of time-frames etc. We do not need to have all the answers now - this is a starting point. https://www.sbcreations.com.au//3-tips-for-a-great-briefin
12.01.2022 What does Business Growth really look like? Heres my story... https://www.sbcreations.com.au//what-does-business-growth-
12.01.2022 These tips are soooooo easy! Spend 20-30mins this week working through the list... 1. Invite your friends. To get started, invite your friends and family to follow your Facebook page. While they may not be your target audience (or maybe they are?) they may know someone who is in your target market, and they can share your posts or direct people to your page. 2. Put the link on your email signature. You can write something along the lines of Connect with us on Faceboo...k and then embed the link, or you can simply add the link. 3. Put the link on all your marketing material, put it on your business cards, put it on every directory listing you have. Hey, you could even tattoo it on your forehead! No, dont do that! But do the other things. 4. Ask people you meet at networking events to follow your page for a follow in return. 5. Join RELEVANT Facebook groups and contribute to the discussions in each group. Be generous and only self-promote when appropriate. Follow other peoples pages, most will follow you back. 6. Post good content. Use Canva or similar to create great quality images. Find great photos on Pexels, Unsplash or Kamboompics. Share blogs. Post relevant links. Share tips or advice. Post your news. 7. Create a simple content calendar. How you set it up is your choice. Even a simple Word doc or spreadsheet is good enough. You might choose that one week you will post a quote, next week post a tip or fact, and the following week you post a link or share a blog and another week you share another resource/blog/event etc. 8. Update your About Us page. This is the place to get a little personal, and tell people a bit of background. Use this section to really connect with your readers. 9. Consider adding a list of services under the Services tab, but try and limit it to less than 7 or 8 so it doesnt get confusing. 10. Ask for reviews. You can ask current or past clients to leave a review on your Facebook page.

09.01.2022 Networking events Soon we will be allowed to meet face to face again... yay! In this blog from last year, I share 5 top tips to make it a success... such as this one...... Bring business cards - I honestly cant believe some people turn up to networking events without their business cards! Your business cards are the best way to keep in contact with people you have met. Plus, its not a good look to fumble about in your bag and then laugh about how you didnt think to bring your cards. You knew you were coming here, right? Or did you end up here via a wrong turn? Put some cards in your wallet, and your car, and your bag (hey, put some in your bra or down your socks!) and then youll never be without again. https://www.sbcreations.com.au//how-to-not-suck-at-network
09.01.2022 My story? The story of SB Creations? Well, I first started my business almost 8 years ago - and Ill be honest, it was a mess first time around! I had wanted flexibility for our family life (I was pregnant with my first daughter) and also to do the works I loved most, but I just wasnt in the right head-space. ... Not only was I feeling sick (thanks morning sickness and pregnancy tiredness!), I had NO IDEA how to run a business! So to cut a long story short, things for my business didnt go too well first time around. I gave up and found a lovely part time job. But by the time my second daughter was born I was feeling like I wanted something different - so I decided to start the business again one more shot. That was 2017. And wow what a difference second time around! In the three years since re-starting the business Ive learned a lot and built up a thriving freelance business. I have worked HARD to constantly improve my craft and how to run a business. So, if you fail at something, pick yourself back up and try again

I have invested A LOT into my business with ongoing memberships, as well as some coaching and resources.... 08.01.2022 The best way to get started on a piece of writing is to begin! Your first draft can be terrible because you are just getting into the flow, then you edit and proofread later. When you have finished your drafts and are happy with the result, just be patient. Wait half a day or even better overnight. Come back with fresh eyes and do your final read through.... https://www.sbcreations.com.au//how-to-write-copy-that-peo
07.01.2022 I think I just found my next book order. I have started the habit of buying two new books a month - and I have committed to reading them! As someone who used to work for a book agent and then a book publisher (and once wrote her own stories), I am embarrassed by how little I read these days however I am making a conscious effort to change this!

05.01.2022 The myths about us continue to do the rounds: you know... the ones that suggest freelance copywriters sit around in their PJs all day, drinking out of huge coffee cups while banging on their keyboard (I can neither confirm nor deny this.!) What I can confirm, is that were always working hard to ensure you get the ideal copy or content your business needs to thrive. https://www.sbcreations.com.au/po/what-does-a-copywriter-do
05.01.2022 Good explanation of how to format your blog posts :-) When writing a how-to or list post, make sure to: Use an H1 heading for the post title.... Use an H2 heading for the title of your list. Include keyword(s) related to the title of your post. For example, if the H1 title was Best Content Marketing Courses, your H2 list title could be Top Content Marketing Courses. Add a few lines to describe the list below the H2 title. My blog packages include SEO formatting so get in touch with me for SEO-friendly blog posts that are well-written for humans, not just Google

04.01.2022 Have you ever wondered how to get started when it comes to outsourcing your copywriting? I try to make it really simple and easy to work with me. Looking for help creating content? Blogs or social media posts? Web copy or Facebook story? Heres my process:... 1. When a new client comes to me, we first have a quick chat on the phone or over Zoom, where I listen to what the client wants... I ask questions to narrow down the intended audience and we discuss the types of content you need. 2. Then I send over a proposal and quote, along with a brief but important new client questionnaire. 3. We get to work! 4. My computer and my brain fire up, ready for me to write, edit, write, edit, and produce the content. 5. You get to see the content and ask for edits - or simply approve. Ask any questions you like, we can speak on the phone again if needed or simply via email. 6. The final invoice is issued. 7. The final copy gets published (social media posts get scheduled, blogs get uploaded, web copy gets saved). 8. I might ask for a testimonial if youve been happy with my work Often, you might have other projects on the go or in the pipeline so we start from point 2 or 3 all over again! I believe good things come from collaboration. I love using my experience and knowledge to write content for my clients. But I cant do it all without some help from you. I appreciate clients that have an opinion - and a clear goal - but are equally happy to listen to my ideas. Are you ready to work with me on your copy and content? If we can work as a team, the results will be greater.
