Christmas can be a wonderful and joyous time, all about re-connecting with family and friends, showing and sharing appreciation of people who are special to you. But it has a downside, too. For some people, Christmas can be a bitter time - folks who have suffered loss, or are feeling alone. Any time that is "supposed" to be joyous and happy can be especially hard if you've got a problem. 22.01.2022 Ladies and Gentlemen We live in the Era of Complaint. You know it, I know it. (In fact, I may get in trouble for the "Ladies & Gentlemen", I'm not sure what's OK anymore, probably need to use "People and Other People", the internet has everyone a bit muddled). For the most part, I love, absolutely love the idea of equality, representation, compassion, empathy. But I think it should be balanced with authenticity and a take-it-easy-brothers-and-sisters kind of attitude.... BUT ... in the spirit of the Era of Complaint - we've been out popping 10% off discount vouchers into people's letterboxes, and my kids have been helping. They've been told to absolutely respect any signs, but if you've received one despite a NO JUNKMAIL preference on your letterbox -- humbly sorry, we formally and without reservation apologise. My eldest kid is fantastic, but the younger guys want a turn too, and they're not great-shakes yet with signage. 20.01.2022 OK, so fair enough, Halloween is not really an Aussie holiday, and in these high-strung days of political correctness gone mad, we would never DARE do anything approaching on cultural appropriation ...... ..... but ..... ..... with Halloween around the corner --- if you have any travel, travel insurance claims or similarly themed horror stories, we'd love to hear them.

20.01.2022 With Australia Day just around the corner, I'd like to share a brief personal patriotic anecdote. Last year, my youngest son was in Prep, age 5, and enjoying the new and overwhelming experience that is public schooling. At assembly every thursday afternoon, they sing the National Anthem .... BUT ... kids in Prep aren't great shakes at reading just yet. So they kinda mumble along and figure it out, maybe copy the kid beside them.... One afternoon, I sit the little tyke on my knee and ask him to sing the Anthem for me. It was wonderful, classic, and for me the best part was the second stanza. In the actual anthem, it goes: Our land abounds in nature's gifts, of beauty rich and rare, in History's page let every stage, Advance Australia Fair My son hadn't figured the actual words and was singing: Our garbage trucks are very nice, we have koala bears, and kangaroos and cockatoos, Australia's Very Fair I can live with that last part. 18.01.2022 Quick Policy Statement for anyone who visits our page. We are an insurance business operated out of Brisbane, Australia. Our current focus is travel insurance for Australians travelling overseas (or domestically). We want to be authentic, helpful, honest.... We want to take the hassle out of a product that can be quite technical, but still make sure you have peace of mind and confidence you've chosen the right Insurance. We want to be liked. (Doesn't everybody?) But we don't want to sprout inane banailties, or make stuff up to sound relevant ... but that said, we reserve the right to post cute pictures of kittens.
