25.01.2022 Bear canister packed with 7 days food and carrying tomorrows food on me - managed to pack it much better than last time! Also have a companion Rose pronounced as in the wine, so I can talk to her when it gets tough Off now for about 100miles before the next resupply and shower..this stretch will be the toughest with the high passes but for now Ill just focus on the current day, thanks for everyones well wishes and messages, youre all fab! Am out of reception now for 2 weeks, no wifi in the mountains

25.01.2022 I love this article, it’s fascinating how women are performing in ultra endurance events, it’s a niche sport but women are beating men in there races. For me I believe it’s a lot around the attitude, the article talks about these women embracing the freedom of these events, it’s not all about the struggle, fight and battle, which does get a bit tedious listening to over and over again. I think women can also let go of their egos more easily, something I’ve seen amongst my f...riends as we get older, we learn to train smarter not necessarily harder, we can just do events to have fun and for the social element. This is not men-bashing either, just some observations, a brilliant article by The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com//female-ultra-athletes-leading

25.01.2022 Lower Blue Mountains -Blue Gum Swamp Walk! I loved it , a 10km loop with optional extra 4km up to the lookout -its the last area of Blue Gum as you leave the Blue Mountains, the last 4km of the loop are exposed fire trail so be prepared! Or do an out and back and then go for a well earned cold #adventureprojectdoessydneysummer #besthikesbluemountains #welovethebluemountains... #adventureprojectoz @ Winmalee, New South Wales See more

19.01.2022 Congrats to Deputy CEO Lesley who smashed the Lawson Wild Running 9km trail run on Sunday, lots of steep hills but Lesley is back in the game! Nice work Lesley..

19.01.2022 Day 6 on the John Muir Trail, 49 miles walked and every you feel every one! 189 to go, its a humbling experience being out here but its so incredible, I feel very small but its wonderful being here, am having a rest day tomorrow, the heat is intense so Im glad to have a day out of it, the next week will be a really tough one with a mountain pass a day to get over but am taking it day by day...

19.01.2022 The time has come! Tomorrow Im off on 240 miles heading north on the John Muir Trail to finish in Yosemite :) Im as ready as I can be, I dont think you ever feel quite ready enough but there comes a point when you have to just trust and believe that you have done as much as you can. Ill be pleased to get walking and into the swing of it, packing 6 days food into the bear canister was an achievement! Even toiletries must go in which is basically just toothbrush, toothpaste..., deodorant and sunscreen! Shall update you all in a week, thanks for all the messages and well wishes, it means a lot :) #adventureprojectdoesjmt #itsjustoverthenexthill #thesebootsaremadeforwalking #jmt2019 #adventureprojectoz @ Mammoth Lakes, California See more

19.01.2022 The journey towards the John Muir Trail has started! On 21st August Ill be starting a solo 386km (240mile) walk/hike through the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, starting from close to Mount Whitney in the South, the highest point in the contiguous US at just over 4,400m to Yosemite NP in the north, hiking over 12/13 mountain passes and resupplying every 7 days on average. Ive just spent a fantastic week in California and now in Boulder, Colorado, foothills of the Rocky Mountains gradually working my way up in altitude. First run/walk this morning at 1,655m (5,350ft) which is low compared to everywhere else but coming from sea level I can feel it! Step by step...thats the name of the game.. #adventureprojectdoestheusa #johnmuirtrailadventure #besttrailsusa #hikingaroundtheworld #adventureprojectoz

19.01.2022 Good news! Some trails in the Blue Mountains have been reopened today, check the NSWParks website of course before you go. Its great to be able to get back up there and support the local businesses and communities that have been impacted by the fires. Stay tuned for some adventures being planned up there soon! #lovethebluemountains #nswparks... #spendwiththem #adventureprojectoz See more

18.01.2022 other ways to help those impacted by the tragic bushfires is to support local businesses in those areas, this is a great initiative as well as a page set up on instagram #spendwiththem , both are already making a big difference so if you are looking for other ways to help then consider these fantastic initiatives #buyfromthebush #spendwiththem... #adventureprojectoz

18.01.2022 It’s so great to see realistic and empowering marketing of women doing great stuff in the outdoors. Well done @deuter for getting it right. I’ve seen so many pictures, photos and marketing campaigns that get it just so wrong quite frankly. I find a lot of it patronising, unrealistic and not every woman wants to wear pink These are the best marketing photos I’ve seen for women’s outdoor gear, they really stand out. ... 16.01.2022 Back on the trail today! I’m sure many of us have felt a bit stir crazy not being able to access the trails so often this Summer, I’m also recovering from Plantar Fasciitis so I’m walking rather than running at the moment. It was great to just get out there, the trail from... Seaforth Oval around Bantry Bay actually links you with the Great North Walk so you can go as far as you want! 16.01.2022 Hello from Yellowstone

16.01.2022 Ive been to some incredibly beautiful parts of the world this year and in my life but my home where I grew up will always have my heart one of my favourite walks ever #needsnowords #isleofwight

15.01.2022 Beautiful Boulder, Colorado Couple of short hikes with some decent elevation gain to continue acclimatising in preparation for the John Muir Trail, this place is heaven! #adventureprojectdoestheusa #beautifulbolder #besthikescolorado #getoutdoorsmore #preparingforjmt #adventureprojectoz @ Boulder, Colorado

13.01.2022 If you need to get hold of me Ill be walking through these mountains (Sierra Nevada range) over the next 3.5 weeks.. Yesterday my last flight of the day couldnt land here at Mammoth Lakes due to a cross wind, so we had to turn back to LA! Luckily I met some other women on the flight and we hired a car and drove 6 hours...total 14 hour travel day Today, picked up my permit, got my bear canister and final pieces of kit..tomorrow Ill pack it all up ready for the start on We...dnesday.. Cant believe its almost time to get on the trail, sooner the better now so the nerves will settle and Ill be back in the place I love to be #adventureprojectdoestheusa #jmt2019 #usaroadtrip #sierranevadas #adventureprojectoz @ Mammoth Lakes, California

10.01.2022 The Marvellous Teton Crest Trail! A week today Ill be starting the John Muir Trail in California but look at this gorgeous walk I did today..these mountains are still growing in height, theyre a relative young mountain chain in the world. I wasnt expecting such a beautiful walk today, took the tram up to the top of the mountain and headed up to the Teton Crest Trail, only saw maybe 8 people and 1 beautiful deer :) No bears today (phew), just perfect weather and even f...ound some snow to stand in! Tomorrow its off to Yellowstone, the worlds first National Park, thank goodness for National Parks and the people@that do so much to look after and save them from those that want to buy and sell them off, theres so much to learn and appreciate in these precious places. #tetoncresttrail #grandtetons wyomingwildlife #adventureprojectdoestheusa #adventureprojectoz @ Teton Crest Trail

09.01.2022 Sharing a great article that our friends Big Heart Adventures have showcased - no need to repeat what theyve said, just get out and walk/hike or trek, it doesnt matter what you call it

09.01.2022 MASSIVE Kudos and Congrats to 2 of our absolutely awesome running legends, Jane and Jackie who both ran in the Sydney running festival on Sunday. Jackie blitzed the Bridge Run after just coming back from a months holiday in the UK (and we know what that means ), Nice work Jackie Jane ran her first ever half-marathon! She just completed 15 weeks training with CanToo and raised loads of money for cancer research as well. Fantastic effort So proud of both of you... 06.01.2022 Yellowstone..yes it is as good as everyone says.. Busy time of year here but I still had a fantastic couple of days, exploring the geysers, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and of course spotting the infamous wildlife. The worlds first and oldest National Park is vast, I just scratched the surface and would love to come back out of peak season but I still loved being here. I managed to get out on a couple of walks and escape the crowds, you soon leave the majority of people behin...d if you walk further than 2 miles. Again, Im so impressed by the organisation and professionalism of the US National Parks Service. They really are a level above anything Im seen and experienced before, they offer so much advice and are a wealth of information, has been a real eye opener seeing how they operate. Now, its au revoir and thank you Wyoming and hello again California as the John Muir Trail awaits... #adventureprojectdoestheusa #yellowstonenationalpark #geysercountry #grandcanyonofyellowstone #wildlifecentral #adventureprojectoz @ Yellowstone National Park

05.01.2022 Its 2 weeks until the start of the John Muir Trail, the nerves are setting in.. For me, thats a good sign as it means I have respect for the trail and the environment, Im excited too but at the moment its a mix of apprehension too. This week in Colorado just made me love the mountains even more, the altitude has reminded me you cant argue with it, start easy and go easy, in a way that makes you stop and appreciate where you are even more, stop and take it all in. ... Thank you Colorado for a really memorable time Now time for the next stage in Wyoming :) #adventureprojectdoestheusa #coloradotrails #breckenridgecolorado #coloradohikes #jmttraining #adventureprojectoz @ Breckenridge, Colorado

05.01.2022 Never too early to start the kit packing fun , 21 days to go until start of the John Muir Trail, this is my gear but still have to add bear canister with a weeks food (must contain mini snickers) and water - some refining to do yet I think! #kitpackingfaff #whoneedsatent #adventureprojectdoesjmt #trekandtravel #weloveoutdoorgear #adventureprojectoz

02.01.2022 Wild Wyoming.. Its been a busy few days, Wyoming is living up to expectations! Spending a few days in the Grand Teton NP, pretty incredible..last night a female moose and her 2 young walked through the campsite, right past my tent! Today I saw my first grizzly bear, it was heading quickly away from the noisy hikers.. Definitely a few anxious moments but happy to report all is fine and dandy, the rangers are so professional here, plenty of wisdom to tap into..taken my mind of...f the upcoming John Muir Trail for a while ;) #wyomingwildlife #grandtetonnationalpark #adventureprojectdoestheusa #wyominghiking #adventureprojectoz @ Grand Teton National Park

02.01.2022 Photos taken last night of the bush fire currently burning in the Jamison Valley at the moment. Started by a lightning strike last Thursday, this area hasnt been burnt by fire since 1968. Such unique weather conditions, extreme winds, cool temperatures with high level of humidity making it so hard for the great people that work 24/7 to help protect people and homes nearby, they are incredible. @ The Lookout, Echo Point
